Chapter Seventy: Confirmation.
LOKI didn’t sleep with Shiloh for almost three days. And those days, Shiloh couldn’t talk to Loki either. She knows he’s distancing himself from her, and she thinks this is the best for them… to distance themselves.
For the past three days, she realized that if he does get a concubine, it’s his choice. She can’t control him because he's the Alpha King. That’s why although it will hurt her, she just keeps it to herself.
With Elen and Selina, she walked through the garden. It has been a year since that incident happens but she can’t still move on. She’s still paranoid about it. But what can she do? She’s a mother, and she doesn’t want her daughters to be put in the same danger again.
“Careful, Elen, Selina!”
She was busy chasing Elen and Selina running through the grass. Just seeing them running here, with their barefoot, made her happy.
As soon as she caught Elen, she heard a flirty laugh of a woman. With her curiosity, she looked up to see who it is. Her chest sank upon seeing a woman with Loki. They are talking to each other while laughing. She didn’t know what they were talking about but it hurts.
That woman is more beautiful than her and more sophisticated… maybe she will be his concubine…
When they looked in their direction, Shiloh turned around and took Selina too. She looked up at the maidservant and then smiled.
“Could you bring them to their room now? It’s getting late.”
“Yes, her majesty…”
She took the two girls while she was left there. For the last time, she glanced at Loki and the woman he was talking to. And when she saw that he was looking at her, she quickly runaway.
She wanted someone to talk to. So she went to Caroline’s house but she wasn’t there. She had no choice but to go back to the palace. This is what she hates here in the palace, she doesn’t have friends to talk to whenever she’s frustrated. It was only Caroline, and when she was not available, she doesn’t have a choice but to keep it to herself.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Loki sitting on their bed. Her lips parted, she wanted to talk but instead, she pressed her lips and continued to the bathroom.
“Are we going to continue being like this?” Loki’s question stopped her from closing the door.
“You should ask yourself, Loki.” Then he shut the door.
For three days, she wasn’t able to cry. Because she thinks that she shouldn’t. After all, it is her duty to support her mate in everything. But now, she couldn’t stop herself anymore. While she took a bath, she started to cry… thinking of the possibility of why the Alpha King chose to find a concubine instead of having another child with her…
If it is because of her trauma, he at least asks for her permission. Because she’s his other half!
She didn’t go out of the bathroom until she calmed down. Just as when she thought that Loki was there and waiting for her, he wasn’t. Instead of thinking about it, she sighed and then get dressed.
She decided to just sleep in their daughters’ room. But when she came there, she saw Loki lying on the bed with their daughters.
The girls are already sleeping while they were in Loki’s arms.
“I’ll… just sleep in my room,” she said and then turned her back to him.
“My room? That’s our room, Shiloh.”
She closed her eyes and bite her lips before she answered.
“I think we should consider separating our room from now on. It will be awkward for your next woman if we still share the same bedroom every night…”
She continued walking until he reached the door.
“What are you talking about, Shiloh? Wait—”
She didn’t finish what Loki was saying because she doesn’t want to hear it anymore. It’s hard for her to accept the fact. She needs time to adjust.
As soon as she closed the door, she locked it up. Even though she knows that Loki will not follow her here, she doesn't want to talk to him.
The whole night, she didn't sleep well. She kept on tossing around the bed, finding a better position to sleep.
For the nth time, she sighed in front of the mirror while looking at her face. The dark circle around her eyes was the evidence that she didn't get enough sleep.
Instead of thinking about how she will cover this, she puts on a red lipstick to make it stand out instead of the dark circle around her eyes. Then she puts on a nice dress… at least it will make her feel confident.
The Royal Guards bowed before her as soon as she opened the door, then the maidservants followed her to the dining area. She has a breakfast meeting schedule with the Royal Council today.
As soon as she opened the door to the dining area, everyone was there including King Alpha. She immediately saw the guilt in his eyes which she ignored. Instead, she went straight to the vacant seat beside the King Alpha and in front of the woman who she saw laughing with Loki yesterday.
“Her majesty, I bet you’ve heard about the news. The King Alpha is looking for a concubine…” Jane, one of the newest Royal Council said.
“What are you—” Loki wouldn't be able to continue what he was saying when Shiloh replied.
“Yes, I heard of it,” Shiloh replied. “So this meeting is about the King Alpha’s soon to be concubine?”
“Yes!” Jean replied. Then she pointed out at the woman beside her. “And this, my daughter is one of the candidates now. I hope you’re not against it.”
She sighed. “I’m not. Whatever the King wants, just let him. Anyway, if that’s all that we are going to talk about, can I leave? I still have lots of work to do today.”
Without even tasting her own food, she stood up and immediately walked outside the dining area.
Loki was surprised and confused at the same time, he stood there, looking at his wife leaving the dining area.
