~Samara~

I pushed him off me slightly and he chuckled softly.

“I did ask you, you shouldn’t regret it when I’m gone.” He smirked, I could see the mischief dancing in those eyes.

“I won’t.” I mouthed.

He shrugged and walked out of the dining, Maya came out of the other end of the kitchen.

“What would you like to eat?” She asked grinning from ear to ear. I knew there was something up with her stares and something that she was dying to ask.

“I don’t think I had an appetite.” I looked sideways if anyone was close and probably gonna hear our conversation. I was being a bit nervous to ask.

It was all Vlad’s fault, he should have fucking used a condom than pouring his semen inside of me.

I urged her to come close to me and when she did, I whispered into her ears.

“Do you have any contraceptive drugs?”

I had no plans on coming to the pack and having sex with Vlad. It was never my intention.

Maya grinned wildly at me and nodded a few times.

“I’m gonna give you on one condition.” She muttered, placing a hand on the table.

“What is that?”

“You’ve to tell me the reason you’re here. I don’t think you’re just a guest as the Alpha said and not as everyone thinks so. I think differently, you’re not just a guest to him are you?”

I narrowed my eyes at Maya. Wondering if I can confide in her, she has been the only one who was close to me in the house and always checked up on me and threw in a few chats to be comfortable around her.

Though I still don’t know if I could trust her.

I was a guest here, I had no plans on staying. Once I have my kids, we’ll be leaving the pack. That was my plan.

“Actually...” I started and leaned closer to her. Maya seems to understand that I was about to tell her about a top secret and she lowered her head.

“I’m here for a reason, I lived with humans for six years and the reason I’m in this pack is because of my sons.”

“Your sons.” She pulled out a chair and sat down.

“What happened to them?”

“They got kidnapped, I couldn’t sense the people that took them. That got me alarmed, it wasn’t ordinary people who had attacked us that morning. That was why I came here to ask for help from your Alpha. So he could help me find my children.” I explained to her. Maya exhaled as if she understand what I was going through.

“It must have been difficult for you.”

I was.

“So I’m gonna leave when I find them, I can’t stay in the pack. That’s the reason I’m here, it’s only for a while, this has to stay between us okay?” I warned her with a growl.

“Okay. My lips are sealed. You said you couldn’t sense the wolves?”

“I don’t know if they were wolves or humans or even vampires. I had no idea what they were.” I withdrew my hands from the table and placed them back on my lap.

“I think I can...”

“What add you talking about?” Vlad’s voice startled us and Maya quickly jumped out of the chair and bowed.

“Alpha.”

“What are you doing?” He frowned at her.

“I’m sorry, Alpha.”

“You don’t have to be harsh at her, I asked her to seat with me.”

“Why would you ask her to seat with you, a servant should know their place.”

I slammed my fist on the table, now that was harsh.

“A servant, I guess. You treat the omega as slaves in your pack. Does that make you a great alpha? It doesn’t one bit. Isn’t time you change and stop treating the omegas as if they are no people.”

“Why? Because you’re one yourself.” He scoffed.

Unbelievable!

“I thought you changed. I guess I was wrong, you can’t tremble on them because you’re Alpha or anyone with a higher rank. They deserve to be treated fairly with the way you treat others, education, hospital medicine, and everything, they are not just servants.”

“This is my pack and I’ll run it the way I want to!” He raised his voice at me.

“That’s hypocrisy!” I shouted back to him, I refused to be intimidated.

“I’m so sorry, it’s all my fault.” Maya bowed apologetically at us.

“You shouldn’t be sorry, you did nothing wrong Maya. So don’t be sorry.” I scolded her.

“You can leave, Maya.” I placed my hand on her shoulders, and she scurried out of sight.

I glared at Vlad, and his face darkened at me in anger.

“Do not challenge me openly like that again.” He warned with his jaw clenched.

“I’m gonna do as long as you’re wrong, and you should accept that. You should do more as an Alpha.” I hissed through my teeth.

He couldn’t just bump into us like that, I never got to hear what Maya had to say to me.

I was about to leave when one of the guards came in to inform Vlad that he had a guest who was waiting to be let in.

Vlad grumbled a few retorts that he was going to work and did not have any time to talk to anyone.

His eyes went off me and he wasn’t able to say what he wanted to.

“Tell him to come in and I would only spare five minutes of my time.” He walked down to the living room.

I was heading back to my room when the front door opened the smell hit my nose. I stopped on my track with one of my legs on the stair. My wolf howled and twitched uncomfortably in me.

What was this feeling?

I turned and stared at the door and this tall man came in, almost as tall as Vlad, his blue eyes caught mine, and his straight nose, heart-shaped red lips, and a sharp jaw that has a little stubble in them.

I clenched my chest, with our gaze locked against each other and his lips moved.

“Mate?” I heard him clearly and I guess Vlad heard him too.

It felt like the air got stuck in my lungs and I couldn’t breathe. It almost felt as if it was suffocating.

What was this?

A second chance mate?

Who was this man?

Vlad noticed the tension between us and stepped forward and shielded me from the sight of the man.

“You should leave, Hector,” Vlad growled deeply. I could tell his anger was rising rapidly.

Hector, that was his name?

“I just got here.” His voice was kind of plummy, he was very much of a high-class person.

“Ain’t you going to your room? Go now.”

I nodded at Vlad and hurried through the stairs to my room. I got on quickly and shut the door behind me.

The moon goddess has decided to give me a second chance mate?

What kind of person was Hector and why would my second chance mate be him?

I had so many questions that I wanted to ask but I couldn’t go back in there. I slide down to the ground with my hands clasped over my head.
