Chapter 23

Chapter 23
Lucanne's daily life is like a human's; he is trying to adapt to living in the city and getting a new job in a big company. Just imagine he can get a position as an office employee even though he has just worked this time. The intelligence of a former Alpha is undoubted, and he also has a high IQ. Wearing a shirt made him look even more handsome, and his hazel eyes illustrated the man's authority.

"Do you miss the Pack?" asked Lisa as she put a tie around her husband's neck.

"They've lived with me for hundreds of years, and of course, I miss them," Lucanne replied.

"While it's not too late, we can go home, and I'll prove that the medicine I made wasn't poisonous; there must have been another cause for the children to die," Lisa said.

Lucanne shook her head. "That's their choice, and we're here to live as husband and wife. Oh yes, I've given you an access card; you can shop while I work."

"God, you're such a romantic husband; I love you."

Lisa escorted her husband to the bus; she asked the driver to drop Lucanne off in front of his office. After Lisa left, all eyes looked at Lucanne, who was so handsome that his gaze was as sharp as a hawk. Suddenly, Lucanne remembered his time in the Pack, usually by this time, he was already hunting animals in the forest or training warriors. Wait! Was he now a Rouge who betrayed the clan like his mother?

"Sorry, you're so handsome," said the woman beside her.

As usual, Lucanne wouldn't answer because the man was ice-cold.

"May I have your number?" the woman asked.

"No, I have a wife," Lucanne replied.

"That's too bad, so that was your wife? She walked you to the bus? That's very strange."

Lucanne gave his a sharp look as if he didn't like the idea of his wife being mocked; the woman looked away and focused on her phone again while Lucanne waited for the bus to arrive at work. After arriving at the workplace, Lucanne entered the building, and all the employees there noticed her.

"So handsome. Is he a new employee?"

"That's right, Mr. Aslan said there will be new employees."

On the other side.

Lisa headed to the Pack and didn't like being slandered just like that; she was desperate to come to the Pack to explain everything about the medicine she made. The place she came to was a new Pack; she saw several werewolves guarding around from a distance. Suddenly, there was a howl in the distance, which made Lisa hide behind the bushes.

"What are you doing here?"

A man was behind her, making Lisa startled.

"Mark, you just scared me. I want to go into the Pack," Lisa said.

"You can't go into the Pack anymore because you're not one of us. You go home before Moreno catches you!" said Mark.

"Lucanne has been an Alpha for so long. Why are you suddenly expelled? Is this your plan to make her leave the Pack, and you can replace her as Alpha? Wow, your friends are stabbing you in the back," said Lisa.

"We didn't kick her out; he chose to leave and join a bad-luck girl like you," Mark replied.
Lisa realized the enemy was the closest of friends. However, she wondered how easily all the werewolves let Lucanne leave the Pack.

"Why are you still standing here? Please leave!" said Mark.

"I'll make sure you guys regret throwing Lucanne away, especially you, Mark!"

Lisa's feet stepped away from the forest; she was also still wary if suddenly Moreno came to attack her. Sure enough, not long ago, Moreno came because he smelled Lisa's scent. The girl tried to run, but Moreno could catch her.

"Let go, me!"

"Please heal my father! He is seriously injured," said Moreno.

"No way! You must be lying and want to kill me if I come with you," Lisa replied.

"I promise not to hurt you; my father's condition is critical, and only you can heal," said Moreno.

In the end, Lisa went to Moreno's Pack; she saw an older man lying there weakly as if in pain. Lisa was unsure she could heal him, mainly because Moreno had lost the child in her womb.

"Sorry, I can't. My son died because of you; if only you hadn't attacked Lucanne's Pack, my son would still be there, and Lucanne wouldn't have been kicked out of her Pack," Lisa said.

"The werewolf from Lucanne's clan started attacking us and left some of us dead; I wouldn't have attacked if my werewolf hadn't been harmed."

The girl began to think that someone must have sabotaged and deliberately made the problem happen; Lucanne could not have told her clan to attack another clan first. Lisa immediately thought that it was Mark who did it.

"Lisa, are you sure you can't cure my father?" asked Moreno.

"Sorry, I can't," Lisa replied.

"Did you say Lucanne was kicked out of his Pack?" asked Moreno.

"Yes, and you must be happy you have less competition," replied Lisa.

"I don't understand, what's going on?"

Lisa was annoyed at the man for pretending not to understand; she left the Pack before Moreno could stop her from leaving.

After arriving in the city, Lisa entered the apartment and let out a long sigh. Of course, she felt guilty for making Lucanne have to live in the city and then live like a human. Suddenly, her cell phone rang, which turned out to be a video call from Lucanne; Lisa shifted the green alert and saw her husband's flat face.

"Have you had lunch?" asked Lisa.

"Where are you from?" asked Lucanne.

"I've been home," Lisa replied.

"You can't lie! I know you went to the forest. Don't forget that I have strong telepathy!"

Lisa just smiled. "Sorry, I just wanted to see how things were going, but Mark wouldn't let me into the Pack."

"There's no need to go there anymore because our lives with them are different."

"Lucanne! Can you help me with this work?" a woman asked.

Lisa looked jealous as her husband interacted with another woman, and suddenly the phone was disconnected.

"Look at the beautiful one ignoring his wife! You bastard! All men are the same," Lisa said.
