Chapter 13

Chapter 13
Lucanne approached Lisa while all the werewolves were saving themselves to safety. Lucanne saw Lisa sobbing in front of Nick as if she felt guilty.

"Luna, let's go! The pack is hit by heavy rain and strong winds. If we stay here, we'll die," Lucanne said.

"My parents died because of me, and now Nick is dead because of me," said Lisa.

"Mate, it's not your fault. I killed your parents, and Nick died because he's been sick for a long time. Let's go! You can walk on your own while I'll carry Nick."

Lisa shook her head. "It's all my fault."

Lisa's tears flowed freely, and her breathing was so heavy that thunder could be heard as she screamed in frustration.
Lucanne realized that it was raining and there was a strong wind because of Lisa's cries.

"Lisa, calm down; let's go out and see what's out there! You should see it because I think the rain, strong winds, and lightning are because of your crying," Lucanne said.

Lucanne forced Lisa to go out and see what was out there. Lisa was shocked that the werewolf settlement had been partially destroyed, and was it true that it resulted from her crying.

"Lisa, stop your sadness! Please!" pleaded Lucanne.

"All the werewolves will hate me even more at this rate," Lisa replied.

"What do you mean?"

"Mark says I'll be hated by all the werewolves because I carelessly took Nick to a human doctor."

"Mark said that?"

Lisa nodded, making Lucanne furious at a beta who had said nonsense about Luna in this clan.
Sure enough, when Lisa stopped her grief and crying, the rain stopped, and the wind that had been strong also stopped.

"You're a fairy who controls the weather?" Lucanne asked.

"What? I'm not like that; maybe it's just a coincidence."

Lucanne smiled again. "If it's true, it's okay. If we need summer water, you can cry for rain."

"Huh! Don't joke around! We must take care of Nick's funeral first and get the werewolves back here!" said Lisa.

"Luna, you're a good leader," said Lucanne.

All the werewolves returned after the rain stopped; part of the settlement had been destroyed, and they would repair it after the funeral. Beta and Gamma excavated the ground that Nick would be buried in while the others mourned Nick's death.
Lisa didn't dare to look at them, especially after Mark said something hurtful.

"The funeral will begin soon. One of our warriors, Nick, has left us all. This is all my fault for letting this happen. If only I had listened to Luna's call for Nick to be taken to a human hospital, then Nick would not be like this," Lucanne said. The man continued his speech. "I hope you all don't blame Luna; she just wanted to do what was best for Nick."

All the werewolves fell silent, and Lucanne gave Mark a sharp look. How dare a beta say that to a werewolf queen.

The funeral took place with much sadness. Nick was a werewolf who had fought with this clan for a long time. His services were countless because Nick sacrificed so much for this clan.

After the funeral was over, the sunset and night fell. All the werewolves were cleaning up their partially destroyed settlement, and they worked together to get it done quickly while Lisa was still silent, blaming herself.

"Luna, what are you going to eat?" asked Lucanne.

"What are you eating? I'll eat your food," said Lisa.

"We're going to eat uncooked pork. Our firewood supply is wet, so we can't start a fire," said Lucanne.

"I will try to eat that. I am one of you, so I must adapt to your customs," Lisa replied.

Lisa approached the female werewolves who were preparing meat. She took a piece and tried the raw meat. Lucanne continued to watch her until Lisa spit out the heart she had just chewed.

"Luna, you don't have to push yourself," Lucanne said.

"I'm a lousy queen and can't get used to it here. Alpha, you shouldn't have chosen me as a Luna because I'm too young," Lisa replied sadly.

Lucanne hugged her tightly and kissed Lisa's head. All the werewolves were silent; they felt that their new queen did not fit in here but were afraid to oppose the alpha.

"You can adapt here and prove you are the best queen. Please don't be sad, I will make a bonfire to cook meat for you. For the others, please eat comfortably!"

"Yes, Alpha."

"Mark, we need to talk," Lucanne said.

Lucanne and Mark walked away from them; after walking for a while, Lucanne suddenly punched Mark in the face until he fell down. Mark didn't dare fight back because he knew his mistake.

"Your job should be to protect Luna, not make her feel guilty," Lucanne said.

"I'm sorry, Alpha!"

"I hope you behave yourself again with my wife! She's still the queen of this clan. My struggle to get a Luna, let alone a half-elf, was difficult. Don't ruin everything!"

"I won't do it again, Alpha."

Lucanne walked away from Mark; Mark clenched his fists with a hateful look at Lucanne. If only he had been an Alpha, other clans would not have underestimated this clan.

"Mark, what happened?" asked Sean.

"Shut up!" said Mark and walked out of the pack.

Lucanne knew that Mark disliked her a little, but Mark still seemed loyal to her, so Lucanne still ignored Mark's attitude.

"Lucanne, did you scold Mark? Why? Did you have a fight with him? He's not wrong because he's just reminding me," Lisa said.

"He shouldn't say that to you; you're the queen here," Lucanne replied.

"That's too much. You should apologize to Mark!"

"I should apologize to him? I'm an alpha."

"Lucanne, I don't like arrogant men like you. If you're wrong, you should apologize, and that's called being a gentleman."
