Chapter 9 I hate the woman

Chapter 9 I hate the woman
Kael’s POV.

Father called for me but I was surprised to see Elias and my mate walking together.

I should ignore but the way they acted like they were close got on my nerves.

Were they always this close? Of course not, Elias came back with me just yesterday, there was no way they’d get so close within that time frame.

He didn't even enter the estate yesterday, he only did today before the mating ceremony.

I walked to them and the way the girl raised her voice on him surprised me.

Only close people do that to each other. She's just a mere maid and Elias' family are next to the alpha when it comes to their powers.

“What are you two doing?” I grabbed their attention.

Elias looked calm but he was doing something unusual. Carrying a crate which I surely knew was one of the works assigned to the girl.

Elias bowed slightly while the girl bowed deeply.

“I was just helping her out as she was given a lot to carry” he said, his gaze darting to the girl. “She looks too fragile for the task she had been given”

I scoffed. “And since when have you started caring about the maids?”.

He chuckled. “Now?”

I looked at him and shook my head. I turned my gaze to the girl who was keeping her head bowed and not meeting my eyes.

“Lift your head” I commanded. She did without complaint.

“What did you call your name again?” I asked.

“Lyra” she said, her voice weak just as she looked.

“You were assigned a job but you dare let a high class ranking beta family do it for you instead?” I scoffed.

She parted her lips to speak but before she could utter a word, Elias' voice rose.

“I took it from her, Kael. It's not something she'd do” he said.

I stared at her as she looked nervous and when she saw that I was staring, she kept her head bowed again.

I walked to her, talking slow steps towards her.

I stopped in front of her and lifted her chin to meet my eyes.

She blinked and my wolf growled inside of me.

Mate.

Mate! Mate! Mate! I had been restless since I got to meet her earlier today.

Since the wolf inside of me had screamed mate and I tried to shun it but it wouldn't even budge.

I leaned in closer to her ear, my hand still on her chin.

“Did it hurt? Earlier” I could feel her body tense and when I turned back to look at her face, her eyes looked into mine angrily, tears brimming inside them.

I guess it did.

“A lot?” I asked, squeezing my face.

We didn't have sex for long, it didn't even take up to fifteen minutes before I stopped thrusting. I couldn't concentrate because of her.

The tears that brimmed her vision spilled to her cheeks and I took that as a yes.

It did hurt a lot.

I leaned away from her and put my hands into my pocket as I watched her with a smirk on my face.

That wasn't enough punishment for what she did to me last night at the bar.

I moved back to her side, a smirk growing on my face.

“I told you I'd make you go through hell” I paused. “Maybe the bond was a blessing bestowed on me to torture you with”

Her lips parted and trembled. “No, don’t” she tried to hold my hand but I shifted away from him, avoiding her like a plague.

Elias rushed over to her and held her shoulder. “Are you crying?”

I smirked. “We should leave. Father wants to see me, you should accompany me”

Elias still looked closely at her face and he brought his gaze back to me in surprise.

“What happened just now?” He didn't understand. He isn't going to because I wasn't going to tell him.

“Let's go” I said again and turned, my gaze landing on the girl with a teary face once again before I walked away.

Elias caught up to me minutes later and walked side by side with me while trying to keep to my pace.

“You made her cry,” he said. “What did you do to her?”

I stopped and turned to him with my gaze darkened.

“She's just a maid” I emphasized. “Make me understand, when did you start caring about maids?”

“The last time I kicked a maid and she rolled into mud water, you didn't bother to help” I paused.

“I once slapped a maid in front of you, you never said a word.” My gaze darkened the more.

“So? Did staying abroad for long make you want to treat a mere onega maid as equal?” I frowned.

“That's not what I meant,” Elias defended.

“There was just something odd there. It felt like there's something going on between you two”

“Whatever it is, you don't need to find out, Elias” I continued walking.

He didn't speak on it and I will always like the fact that Elias knew when to respect my decisions.

He might be a friend of mine but I'm still the alpha’s only son, superior to him in everything.

“What do you think father called me for?” I asked him.

“I wouldn't know. We’ll know when we get there” he said.

I nodded and we fastened our pace as we headed to the main hall which makes the empire in the whole estate.

It's the place where the rules are made, and when they are broken, blood is spilled.

Father ruled the pack with strong hands and strong minds. He exercises control over everything and no one dared question him.

We got into the hall and the guard at the door announced our presence.

We gained entrance and the door was opened. I stepped in, Elias following behind me.

I kept my face down as I walked but a feminine voice which spoke made me raise my head. “The alpha prince is here”

I lifted my gaze to see father and his Luna seated beside him. And the sight of the woman…. It made my blood boil.
