Chapter 35
Chapter 35
Selene's POV
“I just let my wolf out, Alpha. He was getting restless,” Josh said to Dwight. All of our attention was on the two of them. My mate nodded, but I could tell he didn’t fully believe him.
I, too, found Josh suspicious. Whenever there’s a problem or tragedy in the Pack, he disappears. I don't want to assume the worst, but his actions have spoken for themselves ever since I met him.
His behavior has changed too—it's like he doesn’t want us Aeons around. A brief silence fell over the room. Maybe the others also sensed the tension between Josh and Dwight. It was only broken by Darren’s loud yawn.
“Mom, can we sleep now? I’m tiyed,” he mumbled sleepily and rested his head on my chest. My poor son must be tired from our sibling reunion.
I guess everyone else is exhausted too. They were all yawning. Who wouldn’t be tired? It was already three in the morning. I cleared my throat and spoke, “We’re all tired. Let’s talk tomorrow.” I said it seriously—it was both a statement and an order.
After that, everyone began to excuse themselves. Lester and Crater were the first to leave, after Crater kissed my forehead. Rose followed shortly after.
Why are my siblings being so sweet all of a sudden?
“I’ll stay here for now, Luna, Alpha. I’ll just drink some milk. Good ev—good morning,” Keira said as she turned on the stove to heat water.
Well, it was morning anyway. She could take over. Her brother Josh had already gone up to his room.
“Love, let’s go to bed too. Let’s put this little one in his room first—then we can finish what we didn’t get to earlier,” he whispered teasingly in my ear while looking at our sleeping child slumped on my shoulder.
I heard a soft giggle behind us—Keira must’ve heard that. My face flushed as I pinched him. “Let’s go! You’re such a pervert!” I said playfully as he helped me up the stairs to our room.

Rose’s POV
That conversation earlier was truly sleep-inducing. I’m thankful we’ve finally found our long-lost brother.
I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling. Then my gaze shifted to the bed across the room. Where’s Keira? Why hasn’t she come upstairs yet?
Ah—maybe she got hungry again. She usually sneaks down at night to eat. Says she gets hungry. I understand her. We werewolves have fast metabolism.
We get hungry quickly and… err? I stood up to go to the bathroom, but as I approached the door, I kicked it out of irritation.
“Shit! They haven’t fixed this yet? I already told the Omegas!” It flushed again by itself. I knew it was partly my fault—I keep breaking the toilet’s flush mechanism every time I use it.
I slapped my forehead. Geez, werewolf strength! Now I have to go all the way downstairs just to use the bathroom. Not fun!
And I’m not exactly the quietest person when doing anything—even just walking makes noise. That’s why I’m more suited to being a Warrior than a Tracker. I’m loud, and not exactly gentle with things.
I quietly opened our room door, careful not to wake anyone sleeping in the Pack House. If I disturbed them, I’d definitely be showered with all sorts of curses.
I tiptoed silently, wiping the sweat off my forehead. I felt like a cat sneaking off to steal a fish. I just needed to do some somersaults and rolls to complete the spy moves.
This is harder than fighting! I felt like a thief who could be caught any moment. When I reached the last step of the stairs, I screamed mentally: Thank goodness, I made it without a sound! Party, party!
I laughed to myself, and so did my wolf. We’re both weird. Do wolves even clap? I jumped toward the bathroom near the kitchen. Finally, time to let out some dirty water from my body.
Ahh, this is life. I felt like a teenager giggling in the comfort room as I relieved myself. Then I paused—I could hear two people arguing?
Who could that be? Why would anyone argue at this hour when everyone is asleep? Wait, this feels suspicious...
I quickly put my pajamas back on, washed my hands, and quietly stepped outside. Wetweew, just a bit more practice and I could pass as a Tracker!
I kept a poker face, though I felt ridiculous. Quietly, I opened the door where Josh had gone earlier. The voices were coming from there.
It led to the back of the Pack House, where the garden and forest were. The kitchen connects to the backyard.
“Stop this, Kuya. You know you’ll get in trouble!” a voice whispered harshly. I hid behind a narra tree, perfectly positioned to see who was speaking.
I carefully masked my scent so they wouldn’t know I was there. I had a feeling I’d learn something important from this.
“I can’t stop. You know if I do, I’ll die!” the other voice replied fiercely.
Then it hit me—it was the Raven siblings. But why were they talking in secret? Are they the traitors we’ve been looking for?
“Stop it or you’ll be in danger! You need to stop this right now!” Keira said again. Was she trying to stop her brother? Does that mean Josh is the traitor?
I sighed in relief. At least Keira wasn’t involved. I would’ve been mad at myself for trusting her—and my sister would be even more hurt.
We’ve only just made new friends—we don’t want to lose them because of this. Josh can’t be trusted. His behavior changed ever since we arrived, even Lester noticed.
“I’m sorry, Kei, but I’ll still do what I want to do. You should be the one careful about what you do.” Josh said seriously before shifting into his brown wolf. He was even larger than mine, but that’s because of the special blood flowing through me.
Their conversation ended. Keira left. I stayed behind for a bit before deciding to return to the Pack House.
But as I turned around, I nearly jumped—Keira was standing right in front of me.
“Jesus! You almost gave me a heart attack, Kei!” I said, clutching my chest. I thought she had gone inside.
“What are you doing here, Rose?” she asked coldly.
Shit. What do I do? Tell the truth or lie? Argh, why was I raised with good manners by the people who took us in?
“Ah... I was just getting some fresh air,” I said. Please believe me. Please believe me. I needed to tell my siblings about what I’d heard.
Keira nodded. Thank you, Moon Goddess! I sighed in relief. “Let’s go inside, Kei,” I added to avoid further suspicion.
She didn’t answer, but I led the way. Just as I was about to step into the Pack House, something hit me—and I fell to the ground.
Before I passed out, I managed to utter the words that confirmed what had struck my neck.
“W-Wolf’s B-bane…”
