Chapter 342
Chapter 342
Sarah's POV
The moonlight grew brighter as mysterious images gradually appeared above the pond's surface. I held my breath, instinctively grabbing Ryan's arm. The Moon Goddess seemed eager to show us glimpses of Olivia's future.
Tears formed in my eyes as the first image appeared—Olivia as a happy child, her golden hair shining brightly in the sunlight. She was looking up at a large tree, where a boy younger than her sat on a branch, reaching down toward her. Lucian stood behind his sister, helping her climb up, his protective instinct already evident.
"Look at them." I said softly.
The scene changed, showing three children sitting around a campfire, their faces illuminated by the flames. Ryan was there too, slightly older but still recognizable, making exaggerated gestures while clearly telling a scary story. The children were listening intently—Lucian, Olivia, and another child I didn't recognize.
Ryan and I stood close together, quietly watching these fragments. "That boy," I whispered, "might be yours... or mine." The thought brought an unexpected warmth to my heart.
The scene shifted again, showing Olivia as a teenager—every bit the princess of the Silver Creek City pack. She had grown into an elegant, beautiful young woman, though mischief still sparkled in her eyes. In this scene, she was running down the corridors of the council headquarters, with Lucian chasing after her.
Suddenly, the scene darkened. My hand instinctively covered my mouth as I saw an older Olivia in a wedding dress, leaning against a door, tears streaming down her face. She looked so young, so helpless. Almost instantly, Lucian appeared beside her, positioning himself protectively in front of her, ready to defend against any threat.
"She doesn't complete the wedding." Ryan said quietly. In the vision, Olivia was running away from the wedding, her white veil abandoned on the steps.
Before I could process this, the scene changed again. Olivia had cut her hair short, hiding it under a cap, disguised as a boy, standing shoulder to shoulder with Lucian at what appeared to be a military academy.
I couldn't help but laugh, "If Gabriel saw this, he would definitely lose his mind."
The next scenes showcased Olivia's diverse talents—mixing chemicals in a laboratory until a test tube exploded; then becoming a marksman, her arrows precisely hitting the bullseye of a distant target.
"She certainly won't be bored." Ryan remarked.
The next scene was warm and intimate. Adult Olivia was curled up in a chair by the fireplace, nestled in the arms of a handsome young man. They gazed at each other lovingly, undoubtedly her fated mate. My heart filled with joy.
However, my joy was quickly interrupted by the next scene. Olivia was standing in a stone hallway of an ancient building, facing another equally handsome and strong young man. She angrily pushed him away, pointing at his face, her emotions intense.
"Impossible..." I held my breath, suddenly understanding, "He's also her fated mate."
I looked down at Olivia in my arms, a complex mix of emotions washing over me. Like her father, she too would have two fated mates. The words the Moon Goddess had spoken in my living room months ago suddenly became crystal clear.
The final scene appeared, the most heart-wrenching of all. Olivia stood on a battlefield, with Lucian on one side and the unknown boy on the other. Her two fated mates stood behind her. Energy burst from Olivia's hands, flowing from her to Lucian and the boy. Together, they faced the dark forces gathering in the sky above, their expressions determined.
The images vanished as quickly as they had appeared, leaving the pond calm once more, reflecting only the moon.
Olivia whimpered softly in my arms, and I quickly held her tighter, worried the night air had chilled her.
"My goodness..." Ryan whispered, running his fingers through his hair, looking somewhat bewildered. "This is... really unexpected."
"Completely unexpected." I agreed, my mind still racing to process everything we had just witnessed.
Ryan shook his head, "This little girl will definitely have many stories to tell."
I looked down at the infant in my arms, so tiny and innocent, completely unaware of the extraordinary life awaiting her. "Isabella and Gabriel don't need to know all the details," I decided firmly. "Just the basic parts."
"You're planning to keep secrets from them?" Ryan raised an eyebrow.
"That's what being an aunt means," I said with a smile. "Especially when facing a little girl with such a complex future."
Before ending the ceremony, I bowed my head to the moon. "Thank you for your guidance," I said softly. The moonlight flickered slightly as if in response.
"You're back!" When Ryan and I emerged from the forest path, Isabella anxiously came to meet us, her eyes fixed on Olivia. "How was it? What did you see? Did she receive a blessing? Tell me quickly!"
Gabriel followed behind, with Lucian half-asleep in his arms. "Hurry, Sarah!" Isabella urged, her eyes full of expectation.
I hesitated, suddenly unsure how much to say. "Izzy, as a mother, there are some things you might not want to know completely."
Isabella's face immediately went pale. "What does that mean? Is there something wrong with my baby?"
"Don't worry, what Sarah means is that everything is fine," Ryan quickly added. "Olivia is healthy and will have a rich, colorful life."
"Perhaps we can chat over champagne," Ryan suggested, pointing to the refreshment table in the celebration area. "Then decide which information is worth sharing and which might cause concern."
William also came over, holding Olivia on his lap. "The most important thing is that the Moon Goddess has given her blessing."
At the celebration, Isabella quietly pulled me aside, whispering urgently: "Sarah, tell me the truth. Will she get sick? Will she be lonely? What exactly did you see that has you so worried?"
I reassuringly held her hand. "Not what you're thinking, I promise. Olivia will be a happy child, loved by her family. She'll be strong, capable, and very independent."
"Then what's the problem?"
I sighed, "Her love life... will be a bit complicated."
Isabella relaxed and couldn't help smiling, "That's it? That's the big problem?"
"Well, it's not a small matter either," I said vaguely. "But yes, that's the main 'challenge' we saw."
"Does she have a fated mate?" Isabella pressed.
I nodded, my lips involuntarily curving upward, "And he's very handsome."
"Then what's the problem?"
"Let's keep some mystery, shall we?" I suggested. "Some surprises are worth discovering on her own."
Isabella looked at me carefully, half believing. "You're really not going to tell me, are you?"
"Trust me," I said with a smile, "if Gabriel knew everything, he would definitely be like a king from a fairy tale, locking her in the council building, afraid that fate would come knocking."
Isabella laughed softly, gazing tenderly at her daughter, who was being gently rocked by William. "Our little trouble baby," she murmured.
"I think that nickname couldn't be more fitting," I agreed, smiling, thinking of all the adventures this little girl would experience in the future. "She's destined to be a little trouble."
