Chapter 205 Alfonso

Chapter 205 Alfonso
???'s POV

Alfonso led the group through the secret underground passageway beneath the castle. The air suddenly gained a musty, damp smell, the smell of death and decay. Nobody spoke until they reached a grey door hidden in the wall.

"This is it, the entrance to the library," Alfonso whispered.

"And you're certain no one will be in there?" Alpha Zander double-checked. He replayed the plan over and over in his head, but something didn't feel right in the pit of his stomach.

"Yes, I'm sure. Prince Magnus or his guards never come here. They stay in the North and West wings of the castle." Alfonso exhaled as he pressed the indentation in the wall and the door quietly slid open. "Let's go, but be quiet."

Declan was the first person who try to enter through the door. Zander yanked him back by his collar. "Where the fuck do you think you're going?"

"I cannot stay behind Alpha. Maddox and I will go mad if we don't go to her."

"Declan, you can't go," Lucinda warned.

"But she's my mate," he yelped.

"I know she is, but Magnus knows how you look, thanks to Harper's carvings. It has to be only Zander, Isis, Dimitri, and James. The rest of us will lie low until we get the signal."

Declan grunted. His wolf was fighting against his hold. Maddox wanted to transform and run to get his mate, but Declan held him down. He slid down to the floor in defeat.

"I promise you, buddy. We will find her and take her to you," Dimitri promised.

"Zander, are you sure you can do this? I mean, I can try-"

"No Hazel, you're too weak," Zander cut her off. "It has to be me."

"OK, Zander, but please be careful," she kissed him, then turned to the others. "Isis, stay safe."

"I will sweet girl," Isis said, hugging her.

"And dad, promise me you won't go crazy when you see Harper. Promise me you won't get emotional until you're safe with us again," Hazel begged James.

"I promise Sunshine," James said, kissing her forehead.

"What about me? Don't I get a sappy goodbye too?" Dimitri chuckled.

"No, you can die," Hazel smirked, and Dimitri chuckled harder. "Come here," Hazel sniffled, throwing her arms around his neck. "You have to come back to us. Remember, you have a mate and daughter to go rescue."

"Sure thing, cousin. I promise I'll be back, and I'll keep that mouldy mutt of yours safe. No worries."

"Thanks, Dimitri." Hazel let go of him.

Alfonso took the four heroes through the door and closed it behind them. "Now I have to stay out of sight. If Magnus sees me with you guys, he'll kill us all on the spot."

Zander, Isis, Dimitri, and James followed Alfonso through a woven passage until they came upon a large chamber filled with rows of guards with armour and colours so flamboyant they almost distracted their attention from the piles upon piles of glittering, golden treasure clustered around. They hid behind a huge ballister. The area smelled of gold, the hard odour plating their tongues. The light from the teardrop-shaped windows reflected off the treasure at all angles, filling the room with a warm, brilliant, glowing, glimmering light.

Finally, at the end of the hall, upon a squared, padded, high-backed throne, robes glistening, rings glittering, crown gleaming, there sat Prince Magnus.

"I must go find Harper now. Just go up to him and follow the plan to the cue. Don't let your guards down." Alfonso warned as he disappeared down a different pathway.

Zander stepped from behind the pillar and the throne room fell silent, all eyes on the werewolf. The sounds of swords being unsheathed echoed throughout the throne room, but those who drew their weapons did not step forth, rather, they used the shadows of the columns as their armour and protection. The prince himself did not move. He remained on the throne, gripping tightly on the cold metal arms, and poised uncomfortably straight to elevate himself. At the prince's side sat a naked fairy woman with her mouth pleasuring his shaft, her gaze fearful, torn between a battered fairy man and the prince.

Zander's footsteps clicked down the hallway. Soon Dimitri, James, and Isis' footsteps were ringing out with the rhythm of Zander's. They walked confidently, like victors after a battle—strutting through their enemies' fallen bodies, without pause or hesitation. As they reached the Kingsguard, their footsteps ceased, and they stood with their hands raised and their heads bowed.

"Forgive us, your majesty for our unwelcoming entrance, but we come in peace," Zander spoke. Prince Magnus' piercing and cold gaze fell on them. He rubbed his chin in bewilderment. He thought his day was going to be another boring one, but looking at his supernatural intruders, he knew he had been wrong. The naked fairy woman's lips got tired from sucking on the Prince's cock for so long. She paused, her eyes still on the naked fairy man, who was looking on in horror. The Prince's eyes flickered to the woman, who squirmed in her seat uncomfortably, which made him chuckle—a deep rippling laugh that slipped and slid throughout the room like blood.

"You and your husband are dismissed for now," he swatted his hand at one guard, who grabbed the two naked fairies and hauled them out of the room. Our heroes swallowed the bile in their throats. Zander couldn't even begin to imagine what type of disgusting things he had Harper do to him.

Prince Magnus kept his eyes on the knights clutching their swords like children holding their toys. The room fell silent once more, as if it had been frozen, and nobody wanted to break the ice. "Why are you here?" Finally, Magnus spoke.

"My mate, she's sick." Zander stuttered. "Please, we were told the fairy queen can help us."

Magnus stood up and shouted in his high, shrill tone, "What queen? There is no queen here, only a king. You must respect your king when you speak and kneel to him as well." A sickening smile spread across his face.

"We apologize, Your Majesty. We are only repeating what we've been told," Isis stepped forward, dropping to her knees hoping Zander and the others would follow her cue, which he and Dimitri did, but it took James another minute to drop to his knees as well. Nevertheless, Magnus was pleased.

"Very well then. I will help this mate of yours, but first I'll need to see her."

"She collapsed at the entrance, Your Majesty and I left her with my gamma," Zander explained.

"I see. Don't you dogs speak through a mindlink? Tell him to bring her to me." Magnus commanded.

"Yes. I will let him know right away." So Zander pretended to mind-link Declan. "He says he'll be here in a few hours."

"Very well then. I'll have my guards look out for them," Magnus sighed. "Are you hungry? We're having a feast tonight. I'll let my people take you to your rooms where you can get freshened up."

"Thank you, your majesty. You're very kind," Zander admired.

"No need for fake compliments. It will not gain you any favours," Magnus cackled. "Check them for weapons!" He shouted to the two guards closest to the group.

"I assure you, we're unarmed," Zander said, but Magnus didn't believe him.

"One cannot be too careful in these times," the so-called king smirked.

"They're clean, your majesty," one guard said.

"Good. Now take them to the Euphoric Domes," he yelled, and the guards quickly led the group away.

Meanwhile, Alfonso was cruising the hallways, trying to make his way to Harper's keep. He got dressed in a robe he found hanging in the kitchen, covering his face so that he wouldn't be recognized. Most of the guards hadn't seen him in a while, though, but he couldn't take the chance of going in uncovered. It took him some time, but he finally made it to Harper's door. Two burly fairies were guarding the entrance.

"Dammit!" He cursed. Now he'd have to come up with a quick plan to try to get them away from the door. He eventually came up with an idea. It wasn't a great plan but it was something. He ran up to the guards who drew their swords at him. "Help. There's trouble with some intruders," he spoke out of breath. "Wolves are inside the castle. I saw them going to the King. I think they are planning on attacking him."

The two guards looked at each other before looking back at him. "The King was right, he said he sensed a wolf at the Golden lake earlier. He said they would come for him. I guess he was right."

"What?" Alfonso asked, shocked.

"Yes, he said if they came to him, he would send them to the Euphoric Domes." The other explained.

Alfonso gasped. "That's the gate to the underworld."

"Yeah, those werewolves don't know what they're getting themselves into," one chuckled.

"True," the other answered. "I've never met a werewolf before," the other mentioned.

"Me either. Come on, let's go see if they need any help handling the beasts," he told his friend.

"What about the girl?" Guard number one asked.

"Nah, she won't leave. She's too afraid for that," guard number two replied. "Hey, you. Can you stay here for a couple of minutes until we're back? We need to go check on the intruders."

"Sure," Alfonso answered. The two guards thanked him, then went on their way. As soon as they were out of sight, Alfonso slipped into Harper's room. "Harper, it's me, Alfonso. Are you in here?" He called out. The room was so dark he couldn't make out a thing. It smelled like stale blood and sex in there. He walked up to the window and opened the curtains, letting some light inside. Alfonso gulped when he felt a palm grip his shoulder from behind.

"What are you doing here, traitor?" Harper grunted.

"I'm here to save you — your mother and the queen sent me," Alfonso said, ignoring her comment.

"I am not going anywhere with you. Did you tell them?" Harper raved.

"Please, Harper, I don't have time for this. Just come with me," he tried to pull her by the wrist, but Harper shoved him off.

"Don't touch me," she growled. "I know what you did. He told me. All of this is your fault. You got inside his head and put all of this nonsense in his head. You made him like this."

Alfonso sighed. "I know," he moaned. Then he stuck his palm in his pocket and pulled it out making a fist. "But I can't have you blowing my cover, not yet," he replied. Harper stared at him in bewilderment, not believing how conniving this man was. Alfonso opened his fist and blew some dust in her face. Harper staggered.

"You will pay for th —" She couldn't finish her statement. She fell to the floor. Her eyes were opened long enough to see Alfonso grinning down at her.
