Chapter 228 Part 2 Chapter 54
Chapter 228 Part 2 Chapter 54
Idara
I stormed toward him, and the moment I got close, he shut his eyes tightly—as if bracing himself for whatever I was about to do.
And of course… I didn’t disappoint.
I reached up and grabbed his ear, tugging it hard.
“Now who told you that you could go ahead and do all that?” I snapped.
He immediately opened his eyes, looking at me with a pleading expression.
“I’m sorry, cutie pie. I swear, from now on, I’ll talk to you before I do anything,” he said, bringing his hands together like he was begging.
But I wasn’t falling for that.
Not this time.
“And you think that’s the only thing you did?” I continued, tightening my grip. “You left me this morning!”
“Ouch—hey! You’re going to rip it off,” he complained in a small voice.
“Good. That’s exactly what I’m trying to do,” I shot back.
But then, realizing that his usual soft tactics weren’t going to save him, his expression shifted.
A slow smile spread across his face.
Before I could react, he grabbed my waist and pulled me flush against him, my body colliding with his.
“You can scold me all you want, Idara,” he murmured, his voice low and possessive, “but I wanted the whole world to know that you’re mine.”
My grip on his ear loosened slightly.
“And that’s why you left without waking me up?” I asked.
He shook his head, still smiling.
“No. That was me running away because I knew you’d be mad once you found out.”
I gave his ear one last sharp tug.
He laughed.
That’s when I realized—it wasn’t even affecting him.
“So… am I forgiven?” he asked, lowering his head and pressing a soft kiss to my forehead.
I shook my head stubbornly, pouting.
“No, you’re not.”
He cupped my face gently. “Then what can I do to fix that?”
I pretended to think for a second before a small smile formed on my lips.
“Kiss me. And if you don’t do it properly… you’re still not forgiven.”
A low chuckle escaped him before his lips claimed mine.
The kiss was deep, slow, and completely consuming.
The way he kissed me—possessive, confident, like he was marking me all over again—made my thoughts blur.
Honestly… he was already forgiven.
There was no way I could stay mad at him for long.
If he hadn’t told me I was his first everything, I would have never believed it.
Not with the way he kissed.
It felt like years of experience.
When he finally pulled away, I had to catch my breath, inhaling deeply.
“So… did it meet your expectations?” he asked, a teasing glint in his eyes.
I smiled up at him.
“It did… very much.”
Then something suddenly clicked in my mind.
“Ralia?” I asked.
He cleared his throat slightly. “She’s for security. Originally, I planned for two men to follow you, but Gabe suggested Ralia instead—so you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable.”
Oh… Mr. Gabe.
“Also,” he added, catching my attention again, “since you’ve already met Gabe, I was thinking he could accompany you to see your mother.”
My eyes widened.
“You mean… the CFO?”
He nodded. “He’s one of the few people I trust completely. And don’t worry—he’s more than willing.”
Before I could say anything else, his gaze shifted toward the chair.
“But first, sit. Lunch will be here soon.”
That charming smile of his appeared again.
We had lunch together, talking about random things. I was curious about what had been discussed at the council meeting, but I knew better than to ask—he wouldn’t tell me everything anyway.
So I let it go.
Soon, it was time to leave.
But Helio?
He clearly had other plans.
He pulled me into a tight embrace, kissing my cheeks, my forehead, every part of my face like I was something precious.
“Hey, Mr. Chester,” I laughed softly playfully, trying to pull away, “it’s already five minutes past lunch break. I have to go.”
“I don’t want you to go,” he murmured, his lips brushing against my neck.
I shivered slightly. “That tickles…”
“Can’t you stay just a little longer?” he complained.
I shook my head. “Stop acting like a baby.”
I tried to free myself, but he only tightened his hold.
“No, please just five more minutes, Idara,” he begged.
I cupped his face firmly, making him look at me.
“Do you want my colleagues to think I’m not serious about my job just because I married their CEO?”
His expression hardened slightly. “They wouldn’t dare say that to your face.”
“No, they won’t,” I replied calmly. “But they’ll still say it.”
He didn’t argue further.
Instead, he pulled me right back into another hug.
And yes… he took those extra five minutes.
When he finally walked me to the door, I thought I was free.
But just as I reached for the handle, he grabbed my hand, spun me around, and crashed his lips onto mine again.
I melted instantly.
His kiss was deeper this time, his tongue sliding against mine, leaving me breathless.
When he finally pulled away, he whispered against my lips, “I love you, Idara.”
My face grew hot from shyness.
“I love you too,” I replied softly.
He opened the door for me, and I stepped out.
The moment it closed behind me, I exhaled deeply.
Ralia approached and bowed slightly.
“You’ll be coming with me to my mother’s after work,” I told her.
“As you wish, madam,” she replied.
Back at the office, Eliot and Faye were already seated.
I returned to my desk, but Eliot soon stood up and handed me a file, smiling.
“Well, I won’t ask where you had lunch,” he joked, “but I need my old buddy back.”
I laughed.
“I’m still here. Things just… changed a little,” I said, gesturing lightly.
He shook his head. “Nah, I think it changed a lot. Looking at the CEO, he seems like the possessive type. If I want to keep my job, I better give the married woman some space.”
I smiled.
“And don’t forget my invitation,” he added.
“You’ll get it,” I promised.
He wasn’t wrong about Helio.
And I knew I’d miss what I had with Eliot. He was the only real friend I made here.
Faye, on the other hand, acted like I didn’t even exist.
By closing time, I left with Ralia trailing behind me.
We took the elevator down, and as we stepped out, I was surprised to see Mr. Gabe already waiting.
The moment he saw me, he bowed slightly.
I felt instantly embarrassed.
“You don’t have to do that,” I said quickly.
He shook his head. “You should start getting used to it.”
I didn’t even know how to respond to that.
“I’ll be taking you to your mother,” he added as we walked out.
“Thank you. I really appreciate it,” I said.
He nodded.
On the way, I texted my mom to let her know we were coming, so I wasn’t surprised when we arrived and saw her already waiting outside.
I got out of the car immediately and rushed into her arms.
“Oh, my baby, I missed you,” she said warmly, her voice shaking from relief of seeing me.
“I missed you too, Mom,” I replied, hugging her tightly.
Then I heard the car door close.
Mom turned toward the sound.
And suddenly… she froze.
Her entire body went still.
“Mom?” I asked, confused, following her gaze.
She was staring at Mr Gabe.
Like she had just seen a ghost.
“Are you okay?” I asked again.
Her lips trembled slightly as she whispered, almost breathless—
“Sofie…?”
Her eyes filled with tears.
And Gabe?
His eyes widened in shock.
