LONG LIVE THE KING
Third POV
The witches focused all their attention on Harper. One of the taller women waved her arms and perked up. Immediately afterward, Harper got the feeling of weightlessness. Time and space were frozen. Harper knew she was locked. For just a moment, she lost all sense of her body except for her last remnant consciousness.
A faint and muffled cry came through, " Harper--!"
Harper knew that it was Wyatt. She tried to turn around, but like a bug in honey, her limbs couldn't break free of the heavy air around her. Wyatt's voice faded until Harper heard a muffled blow, accompanied by Wyatt's hiss, and Harper's breath caught in her throat.
Harper begins to struggle as hard as he can, in vain.
Just do something.
Harper bites her tongue until she tastes blood. The sting brought her some sensation back. The moans of the wolves in pain reached her ears more clearly. harper thought about what the elder Aldricus had said, the power of the mind and soul. It was hard for her to discern how the witch had just managed to paralyze her and make her a helpless worm in amber. Was it about the soul? The only outlet for her soul was Wyatt. She didn't want any harm to come to him.
Harper struggled to inhale, the oxygen making her lungs burn, "Help me, mom, Aldricus, I need more power. to save those who are important to me."
A sharp pain later, something was different. The currents of air passing over her fingertips and the tiny specks of dust in the air seemed to ran around her. Harper took a long leap and she felt the invisible cage disappear.
"Don't you hurt them!" hissed Harper as she leapt onto the long table in front of the witches. The terror on their faces was clear as day. Harper continued to press forward until the tall witch fell off the stool.
Harper swung her hand, not realizing that she could already manipulate the air currents. The air pumped away from the terrified witch's face as she moved. You could tell by the witch's panting that she was being made to look bad by the low air pressure.Harper was dead set on preventing her from casting any more of those awful spells on the wolves. "You can be safe If you be quiet."
The witch's face turned white and then her pores began to fade into dense dots of red. She stroked up her face and screamed, "She is frozen me!!!! An element freak!"
"Shut up, Fiona!" shouted Karina in this direction.Harper heard a panic in Karina's voice that hadn't been there before.Harper reminded herself again that Karina couldn't manipulate herself anymore. Harper then slowly turned around and in her afterglow she saw that Wyatt and the warriors had recovered and fought to kill the remaining enemies.
"I'm not going to believe another word you say, Karina," Harper said as she tried to restrain her anger at the thought that the woman in front of her could be her aunt.
"You're just as repulsive as that bitch, Harper. To help dirty werewolf by hurting my kind," Karina said through gritted teeth, "you don't deserve the power of magic."
"Don't call my mom like that." Harper was completely enraged.
The air began to crackle and sporadic flames erupted between the two.Harper didn't realize that her emotions had been able to connect with the natural elements.
Karina noticed all of this and the subtle muscle twitching in her face showed her unease.Harper reminded her of Sofia which made Karina even more disgusted. "she's not being called a bitch. She, Sofia, is a bitch. The scum of the witch world."
"Shut the fuck up," Harper had charged towards Karina.
Karina looked at Harper viciously, "Wait until you beat me before you lecture me.Now, suffer the price of your ignorance!"
Then Karina said some strange words, Harper didn't catch what they were. But immediately afterward her chest hurt as if it had been cut by countless sharp blades. Breathing became a great torture.Harper covered her chest and collapsed on the floor. The mockery in Karina's laughter was obvious to the core.
Harper looked up, she spat out a mouthful of blood, then barely managed to stand, "It's not over." Harper's hair began to shrug, the stones around her, the dishes on the table began to vibrate violently. "I don't favor either side of the werewolf or the witch, I just refuse to be malicious." Harper said as her body began to become slightly glowing. It was one of the very few witches that could do energy radiation.
Karina used to hate Sofia for having this gift, now that loathing is even stronger.Karina yells at the other witches, "Don't just stand there! Are we going to watch her destroy our race like Sofia did?"
A few of the witches walk somewhat shakily behind Karina and join her. Several beams of magical light converge together pointing at Harper. Harper's body takes on an almost translucent appearance. Pain was swelling violently, and her limbs felt like they were about to burst open. But she braced herself. She tried to transform into a wolf again, fur burrowing out of her pores.
The witch next to Karina whispers, "The bears and the rest of the werewolf army are routed, we should leave now." Karina's anger burns hot, "You Waste! Get out of me!" Karina hissed, an eerie green color surrounding her. "No! Karina, no killing her!" The leader of the coven, Lily shouted.
Harper felt the green light like thousands needles plunging under her skin, for a moment she couldn't breathe, she could only stop the shift. curling up again. The world blurred. Something had left her body.
Suddenly a warm white light flooded Harper's eyes and all the pain disappeared. She sees Karina bounce off the white light and fall to the floor in a heap.
Harper saw in the intense white light the figure she had seen in Elder Aldcirus' memories, like a phantom to be exact. "Mom. Mom." she murmured.
The phantom spoke softly to Harper, "Harper, good girl, you will be fine. Mommy will find you soon." A warm heat invaded Harper's entire body, and she fell asleep with peace of mind. A long beautiful dream.
Sofia's phantom turned, her voice became low and menacing, "Karina, you almost kill my child. You are unforgivable."
Karina's mouth and eyes oozed black blood as she shouted at Sofia's phantom of light, "YOU FUCKING WHOLE, TRAITOR. Everyone else is blind. But I knew what a piece of shit you are."
Sofia's light shadow said coldly, "Karina, I'm so sorry you're my sister."
Karina let out a harsh, miserable laugh, "I would give up everything to get a world without you, Sofia. you took away all my light. I hate you." The eerie black lines began to appear on her face and they were consuming her body. In an attempt to kill Harper, she utilizes an extreme death spell. However, the spell didn't work and the curse all backfired on herself.
Looking at the defenseless Karina, Sofia lifted her control over her magic. Her phantom was slowly fading, leaving only a sigh, "Karina, none of these should have happened."
Sofia's phantom dissipates completely as Wyatt walks over to the dying Karina and grips his claws around her throat, "This is for my mom."
Karina's face had gone nearly white as she forced a smile, "She shouldn't be in my way." Karina coughed intensely and closed her eyes completely. Wyatt let go of his hand and watched silently as Karina's chest lost its rise and fall completely.
Harper fall into a deep sleep. She did not see Wyatt kill almost all of his enemies, the witches flee, and Simon scampered away with Pearson. She, along with Wyatt and their warriors, managed to finish the battle.
"My King! My King!" , a great shout went up from Wyatt's soldiers.
Wyatt regained his human form and hold Harper in his arm. The warriors cheered and long wails drowned out the soon to be King and Queen.
