Chapter 89 Chapter 89: Suppression

Chapter 89 Chapter 89: Suppression
ARIANNA’S POV

The result of my check up burned a hole in my bag. I felt my wolf keening sadly, my insides twisting with disappointment.

I blinked away the tears that clouded my eyes, my hands tightening around the wheel. “Aren’t you going to work today?” Lucien asked, causing me to take a quick glance at him.

“I am not; I wanted to be with you throughout today” I replied. That had been the plan. Especially with the checkup I wanted to do.

I hadn’t wanted my work stress to affect me by the time I went for the checkup. “And now I have to leave you at home to sort of the mess at the palace” He gritted out, his hands balling into fists.

“I really hope you find their base and put an end to the senseless killings” I drove the car into the street where his apartment stood.

“I second that” He mumbled beside me. I parked the car into the garage, helping him out of the car.

I bit at my lips as I watched him change his clothes. The urge to tell him not to go was strong; he still looked weakened from the duel.

“I am fine, baby. I would be back before you can blink” He whispered, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

“You promise?” I asked, my eyes falling close. My hands wrapped around his neck, a sigh falling from my parted lips as he placed his hands on my waist.

“I promise” He pressed one more kiss to my forehead before he shrugged on his shirt. I stood to my feet, taking hold of his shirt as I buttoned it up for him.

I needed to tell him what my doctor had said. I would tell him once he got back from the palace. “Don’t take too long” I said as he got out of his apartment.

He nodded sharply, walking away. He turned around suddenly, his lips on my before I could ask what was wrong.

I melted into him, my hands fisting the material of his shirt. His hand cupped the back of my head, the other pulling closer into his body.

I broke the kiss, my heart racing within my chest as arousal pooled between my thighs. “You need to leave” I whispered against his lips.

“I know” His lips brushed against mine once more before he finally left. A small smile spread on my lips as I entered into his apartment.

I closed the door to his apartment, my smile fading as the door slammed shut. I slid down against the door, my hands running through my hair.

I should have known better than to think I could have my happily ever after. The world was just too cruel to take away the one person I loved the most.

I knew for certain, Lucien would have no choice but to look for another…partner once he hears what my doctor had told me.

A sob tore through me at the thought, my heart squeezing in pain. Tears fell from my eyes onto my pants.

What use was an omega who couldn’t have a child? Why did the moon goddess decide to do this to me?

All the times that I thought I was pregnant was just my hormones acting up after been locked up for a long time. At least that was what my doctor had told me.

The suppressants I was using had affected my reproductive organs. It was going to be nearly impossible for me to get pregnant.

I stood to my feet, eyes blurry with tears. I should leave Lucien, I know I should. But I couldn’t, he was the only thing that made me want to get out bed in the morning.

Without him…Without him…I collapsed into the bed, curling up on myself as fresh tears cascaded down my face.

I heard my phone beep with a message but was too tired to reach for it. To be honest, I didn’t want to do anything for a while.

At some point, I had no more tears to shed. The heavy hands of sleep dragged me into its warm embrace, my eyes slipping shut against my wish.

The ringing of my phone woke me up, my eyes scanning the room before it locked on where my bag was.

My body felt heavy as I stood up from the bed. “Hello?” I said into the call, not looking at the caller ID.

“I have messaged you multiple times, are you fine?” Glory asked, her tone worried. I ran my free hand through my hair; I was meant to message her.

“I am good, I thought I messaged you I wasn’t coming to work today?” I asked. “I didn’t get your message” It must have skipped my mind.

“I had an appointment with my doctor today, so I thought to just take the whole day off” I explained. “Oh, okay. Alex said to tell you they sent the stuff you asked for” She disclosed, making me frown.

The number that had called me! “Okay, I would check it out now” I told her, pulling out my laptop immediately.

“I just called to…check up on you and deliver Alex’s message” Glory mumbled out. “Thank you, I really appreciate that” I told her, my eyes scanning through my email messages.

Glory informed me about the happens in the office before we cut the call short. Finally able to concentrate once more, I tapped the email that Alex had sent me.

“No way” I let out under my breathe as I read through the file Alex had attached to the email.

The woman who had called me was Antonia Hathway, a picture of her was attached to the part that listed out her name and everything about her.

The fact that she was beautiful had my stomach souring up. What I had seen that made me exclaim was the fact that she knew Lyra.

I scrolled down, my eyes going wide at what I saw next.
