Chapter 72 Chapter 72: He Is Mine

Chapter 72 Chapter 72: He Is Mine
ARIANNA'S POV

By the time I resumed back fully to the firm, the news about Lucien and I had died down.

The news that covered it was shocking. The CEO of the firm was a male Omega.

His designation has always been known to be an Alpha.

Which embodied, from the way he spoke, to way he presented himself.

Only for him to be caught on camera while been cornered by an Alpha.

It had happened while I was in East palace, so I was just getting a recap from Glory.

“I hadn't expected it at all. But they look good together though” Glory commented, showing me the picture of the CEO and his mate.

They got mated apparently. The man who stood beside the CEO looked like he broke people's bones for laughs and giggles.

His Alpha designation oozing from the picture. He placed a possessive hand on the CEO’s waist claiming him.

I could have never imagined this happening.

“Enough about gossip, how do you like your new office?” Glory questioned, a slightly smile on her face.

She looked better compared to the last time I had seen her.

Speaking of the last time I saw her, the buzzy, electrified air between she and Derek piqued my interest.

There was definitely something going on with both of them.

“I like it just fine, how about you?” I questioned.

She had gotten promoted too but she was still my assistant.

Being a Senior partner’s assistant came with a few perks, one of it been an office.

“It is okay, only a bit too quiet for my liking” she mumbled out, her finger tapping on my desk.

“Are you trying to tell me you miss sharing a office with me?” I asked, my tone teasing.

“I am not saying that, it is just…a bit sudden to have an office to myself” she stumbled on her words, her eyes not meeting mine.

I chuckled lightly when a telephone rang out. It was from Glory's office.

“That's my cue to leave, see you soon” she let out as she walked out of my office.

I sat down into my chair, eyes closed as I enjoyed the buzzy feeling that came with having a new office.

The ping of a notification from my phone had me snapping my eyes open.

It was the man I had given my old phone to repair. He said I would be able to collect it by next week.

The process of repairing the phone would take weeks and I couldn't wait for that long without my mobile phone so I had to get a new one.

The fact that Lucien had been the one to buy the phone for me made it hard to just let the phone go, hence why I tried repairing it.

As I made to drop my phone on my desk another message entered, this time from an unsaved number.

I tappes on the message to see who it was only to discover it is Kieran.

Just three more days and you would be mine again

His text read, the slimy feeling I had felt when he had came into the pack house slicking through me.

I deleted the message in whole, the reminder of the duel souring in my mood.

If left to me, Kieran wouldn't become the Alpha of the Moonlight pack.

He would become greedy and reckless with the pack’s funds.

I had no idea what I had seen in him in the first place. If I could go back in time I would advise my younger self to avoid him at all cost.

“The Senior partners are holding a meeting in the boardroom” Glory disclosed as she pushed open my door.

“Okay, let's go” I let out, pocketing my phone.

The meeting was the perfect distraction I needed from the upcoming duel.

After the meeting I settled into my chair, the work distributed to me snapping me into working mood.

I was now working with some top clients in the firm, the need for everything to be perfect for my first big client case was intense.

I classified and read through each material carefully, skipping lunch to make sure I had gone through my first case file a bit.

A knock broke my focus. “Sorry to interrupt you, but you have a delivery” Glory let out, raising the package in her hands.

“Thanks” I collected it from her, wondering what could be inside.

There was no return mail on it, making my curiosity rise even more.

I cut the package open, ruffling through the box.

I stiffened as my gaze cut on one of the pictures inside the box.

It was of Lucien. Stripping another woman of her clothes.

Him pressing a kiss to her neck, them on a date.

I closed the box with a gasp, my breath seizing up in my lungs.

Hurt bloomed within me, hot and painful. I sat down on my chair with a thump, my hands trembling as the images I was blurred into each other.

He had betrayed. The thought sank down in me like a ton of stone.

The ringing in my head grew louder forcing me to push into my restroom.

I panted, my hands washing my face with water as tears rolled down my cheeks endlessly.

After I had managed to calm down, I walked back to my chair.

I looked at each picture, burning the image behind my retina.

My phone buzzed with an incoming call, deviating my attention from the spread of pictures I had on my desk.

I picked the call without checking the caller ID, feeling drained mentally.

“I trust you have gotten the package I sent to you” a feminine voice said.

My thoughts went to the woman I heard during my call with Lucien. This woman sounded like her.

“What do you hope to achieve with what you sent to me?” I questioned, my tone falsely bored.

“To show you Lucien always belonged to me, those pictures were taken the last time he came to the palace in California” she let out, her smirk sounding through the phone.

I pressed a hand against my brows, hoping she was lying.
