Chapter 404 I Miss You So Much
Chapter 404 I Miss You So Much
Days passed slowly and happily.
When the next month arrived, after a period of calm and relaxed days, everyone got busy again preparing for Faith's wedding.
Natalie had already begun to treat Faith as her second daughter and was involved in handling everything.
But at this time, Amelia began to suffer from morning sickness.
She thought she was lucky - aside from drowsiness, she hadn't had any other particular symptoms.
She hadn't experienced any loss of appetite during the period when morning sickness is usually at its worst.
She never expected that after four months of pregnancy, the morning sickness would start.
She threw up everything she ate.
The doctor came to check on her and said it was normal.
Probably because she was carrying twins, since Amelia used to test formulas on herself while developing medicines, so she was a bit different from typical pregnant women.
But the good news was that the babies were developing normally.
She kept throwing up like this until the day before Faith's wedding, when Faith brought over a jar.
"These are pickled cucumbers my grandpa made himself. Try them. My grandpa said when my grandma was pregnant, she also threw up everything she ate, and only got better after eating his pickled cucumbers."
Amelia nodded and asked the kitchen for a bowl of oatmeal.
That was all she could eat now.
But even with oatmeal, she often threw up.
However, to her surprise, after eating Octavius's pickled cucumbers, her appetite suddenly returned.
Not only did she finish the bowl of oatmeal, she also ate two fried eggs.
Samuel was overjoyed, though he couldn't help but complain that Faith hadn't brought the pickled cucumbers earlier.
Faith looked wronged.
"I only asked my grandpa to make these after I heard about Amelia's morning sickness. Pickling cucumbers takes time, okay?"
Samuel was about to say something more, but Amelia stopped him.
"Octavius is in poor health yet he still made these for me, so please, don't nag her. Also, prepare two gifts for Faith to take back to Octavius."
"No need, no need!" Faith quickly refused.
But Samuel had already gone to get two gifts.
They were two antique bowls.
Packed nicely in beautiful nanmu wood boxes.
Samuel knew that Octavius liked collecting antiques, especially antique bowls.
Faith didn't dare accept them, but Samuel placed the items right in front of her.
"If you don't take them, I'll have Byron come get them later."
Faith had no choice but to accept.
"Trading pickled cucumbers for antiques - did I just strike it rich?"
Amelia smiled, "Just keep them."
Faith accepted them with embarrassment.
And Amelia's morning sickness, thanks to that jar of pickled cucumbers, was successfully overcome.
Soon it was Faith's wedding day.
Amelia, accompanied by Natalie, went to The Monroe Villa.
Seeing Faith in her beautiful white wedding dress, her eyes lit up.
"Faith is getting more and more beautiful."
Faith blushed with embarrassment.
Amelia handed over a gift.
"From now on, you two need to respect and love each other. If you have any problems you can't solve, come find me."
"What? Do you offer a lifetime guarantee too?"
Everyone in the room laughed.
Soon it was time for the ceremony, and Byron came to get his bride.
Because of her pregnancy, Amelia just stayed by Faith's side.
It was lively outside, but quiet in the bedroom.
"Amelia." Faith held Amelia's hand and voiced her inner worry. "Grandpa has suddenly gotten better these past few days. I'm really scared, scared that it's..."
Faith couldn't say the words "the terminal lucidity."
But she knew clearly in her heart that this was the truth.
Amelia patted her shoulder.
"Don't be sad, Faith. Everyone has to go through this. Your grandpa urged you to get married, not to see you marry while sad. Be happy, okay?"
Faith nodded hard.
Amelia then talked about Maeve's grandfather, Roman.
Originally, to live a little longer, he had tried everything.
He was even willing to spend a fortune asking her to help extend his life.
But now, Roman no longer spoke of prolonging his life.
"In a lifetime, what people fear most is regret. I think your grandpa probably has no regrets left."
Somehow these words touched Faith's heart.
She stopped looking miserable and happily became the bride.
Soon Byron came to the bedroom.
Under the wedding planner's arrangement, the two exchanged gifts.
Byron gave Faith an ancient culinary text she had always wanted.
Faith gave Byron a string of wheat ears made of gemstones.
Faith's parents, because of their divorce, refused to attend the wedding and were currently living in different countries.
But with Octavius there, Faith had no regrets.
To her, her parents weren't essential people at the wedding.
Then came various ceremonies and photo sessions.
Amelia felt a bit drowsy and went to rest in the car.
After an indeterminate time, Amelia was gently shaken awake by a large hand.
She opened her eyes in confusion and saw Samuel's handsome face.
"What time is it? Are we going to the hotel?" Amelia asked.
Samuel said, "It's still early."
Amelia relaxed a bit, not so tense anymore.
But then she heard Samuel say, "However, you might need to get out of the car. A guest has arrived."
"Faith's guest?"
"Your guest."
Amelia tilted her head in confusion.
Samuel then whispered a name in her ear.
Amelia's eyes suddenly widened.
"She, how did she...?"
"Get out and talk to her yourself. She's waiting for you in the living room."
Amelia hurried to get out, and Samuel quickly supported her.
"Slow down, watch your step."
Amelia felt helpless.
She truly wasn't as fragile as he thought.
And compared to other pregnant women, her energy and spirit were already top-notch.
But since Samuel was so careful, she couldn't refuse and let him help her out of the car.
She'd just treat it as experiencing life as a queen for a while.
Entering the living room, Amelia quickly spotted a familiar figure.
That person was Patricia!
She was wearing a smoke-gray trench coat, standing quietly in a corner.
When Amelia looked over, she seemed to sense it and turned her head.
Their eyes met.
Patricia's eyes instantly turned red.
This made Amelia realized that Patricia had finally regained her memories and must have remembered who she was.
Sure enough, the next moment, Patricia ran quickly toward her, reaching out to hug her.
But Samuel extended his hand to stop her.
"Amelia is pregnant."
That reminder made Patricia pull back her hand, not daring to rush at her, just standing there with red eyes.
"Blaze."
That one word "Blaze" made Amelia completely certain that Patricia had remembered everything.
Her eyes also instantly turned red. She pushed aside Samuel's hand and actively hugged Patricia.
"Patricia."
As she choked out Patricia’s name, her voice broke.
She didn't want Patricia to recall that painful past, so when leaving the island, she hadn't even dared to say goodbye.
She was afraid Patricia would find it strange why someone she wasn't familiar with would make a point of saying goodbye to her.
But now, she had remembered everything.
She remembered the pain of her teenage years, and also the happiness and fulfillment of being with Amelia and Byron and the others.
"Blaze, I've missed you so much."
