Chapter 31 Must Become Strong

Chapter 31 Must Become Strong

The double weight load had drained almost all the energy from Mason's body.

He hadn't reached the bottom yet - it was entirely due to Marcus's repeated provocations.

Finally seeing Eve's figure, all the grievances Mason had been holding back along the way burst out. He sat on the ground and started crying.

This caught everyone off guard - not just Eve, but even Marcus was completely stunned.

A grown person like him, actually crying?

Just as Marcus was about to say something sarcastic, Eve, who had rushed over, waved her hand to stop him.

"You go jog slowly around the courtyard twice, then you can rest. Leave this to me."

Marcus's stamina was clearly much better than Sophie's. Even with the weights, he wasn't that exhausted.

Two slow laps would be enough.

After Marcus left, Eve stopped beside Mason.

"Mason, tell me - do you want to become stronger?"

Mason looked up, meeting the light in Eve's eyes, and nodded slowly but firmly, "Yes!"

"If someday in the future I'm in danger, would Mason want to stand in front of me and protect me?" Eve asked again. Though she'd never said this to outsiders, it had always been in her heart.

'DarkChord' was never a benevolent organization. If they really found out she was the former 'Phantom,' they would definitely send assassins again.

When that time came, she'd have trouble protecting herself, let alone her family.

So Mason had to become strong, no matter how hard the process. Strong enough to protect himself and his family.

"I will!" Mason shouted, struggling to get up, looking at Eve with burning eyes. "Sis, as long as I'm here, I'll never let anyone hurt you - unless they step over my dead body."

"Don't talk nonsense. Never say things like that again."

Pretending to be angry, she patted Mason's head. "Go on, they're all waiting for you down there. Don't let anyone laugh at you."

Mason nodded, let out a roar, lifted his numb legs, and ran crazily down the hill.

In the end, without Eve even arranging it, he walked five more laps around the courtyard before sitting down to rest.

Of course, no one got breakfast.

Eve had made this clear beforehand, and no one had any objections.

"Rest for half an hour. After that, change into swimwear and meet here."

She paused, her eyes casually glancing at Sophie's blushing face. "You come out ten minutes late."

"Yes, instructor!"

Sophie's voice was clear and bright, making Eve smile.

Half an hour passed quickly. Mason and Marcus, changed into swim trunks, were ready, standing shirtless in the courtyard.

Their backs were straight as arrows, like soldiers waiting for inspection.

"There's a hot spring in the back. Your task now is to soak for an hour to wash away your fatigue."

Hot spring?

Before Mason could get excited, Eve's next words blocked him. "We continue this afternoon. If you still can't complete the tasks, dinner is also cancelled."

Ugh!

Mason let out a hopeless cry before being dragged away by Marcus.

As for Sophie, ten minutes later, she came out wrapped in a towel, twisting and turning.

Her face was as red as a ripe apple.

"Eve..."

"Call me instructor," Eve corrected.

Sophie's face turned even redder. "Instructor, are there any... any swimsuits with more fabric?"

Earlier in her room, she'd looked through all the swimsuits Eve had prepared. Each one had less fabric than the last, with the smallest barely covering the important areas.

Sophie, who always dressed conservatively, had never seen such clothing.

After hesitating for ages, seeing Eve's deadline approaching, she finally closed her eyes and grabbed what looked like the swimsuit with the most fabric.

"No!" Eve paused - she'd really overlooked this.

Back when they were receiving training in the organization, where did they have the right to say no?

They wore whatever they were given. If there was nothing, they had to go grab it.

"Sophie, are you willing to stay by my side?"

Sophie nodded. Though she didn't understand why Eve was asking this, her eyes still looked at Eve brightly. "Yes, I'm willing."

Eve cleared her throat. Why did that sound so awkward?

It was like she was proposing or something.

"Since you're willing, you need to learn to overcome any difficulty."

Sophie nodded. "Yes, overcome difficulties, starting with the swimsuit."

As she spoke, she directly untied the bathrobe, revealing the black swimsuit underneath.

Holy crap!

Eve really didn't want to admit it, but she was a bit envious.

She'd always known Sophie had a good figure, but she didn't expect it to be this good.

The tight swimsuit perfectly displayed her great figure.

Truly not an ounce too much or too little.

"You should put the bathrobe back on."

Damn, too stimulating.

Looking down at her own round belly, Eve felt depressed.

She secretly decided to double the afternoon's exercise amount.

Sophie didn't understand why Eve changed her mind again, but obediently did as told.

After that, following Eve's instructions, she began the two-hour hot spring session.

When the three emerged after their bath and changed clothes, the table in the courtyard was already filled with nutritious beef.

Though they missed breakfast, lunch was quite good.

Eve didn't waste words, waving her hand to signal the three could eat.

"See that sun outside?"

All three looked up at the sun hanging in the middle of the sky and nodded.

"After the meal, stand at attention for one hour, then weighted mountain climbing for one and a half hours. The slowest person does a hundred frog jumps, the other two do a hundred squats."

Ignoring their pale faces, "No dinner if you don't finish."

After leaving that statement, she turned and went inside, leisurely lying on the bed with her eyes closed.

As for herself, losing weight couldn't be rushed.

After all, if she really got moving, these three rookies outside couldn't keep up at all.

Better train these three first, then she'd work on losing weight separately.

The three outside looked at each other, thinking about possibly going hungry again tonight. Not daring to waste anything, they ate all the beef in front of them.

Even Sophie, who had the smallest appetite, ate a bit more.

After that, without anyone telling them, they obediently stood under the sun for an hour.

Then began another round of weighted mountain climbing.

Day after day after day.

Half a month passed quickly.

After half a month of high-intensity training, all three could now complete various tasks within Eve's set time.

"Good, your performance is excellent."

At dinner, Eve announced, "Tomorrow, you get two days of rest. When you come back next week, training upgrades to devil level."
