Chapter 34: Introducing Friends

~Tricia

A man said as he caught my gaze.

I just ignore him.

He's not that bad looking guy, and by his looks tell that he's a gangster. His face looks familiar.

"By the way, Carter. Rank three here." He extended his hand to me, and I just looked down at it and back to his face, ignoring what he said. That explains why he looks so familiar.

"Snobbish, I should say." He chuckled and placed an order for himself.

"I'd like to make you an offer. Why don't you join our gang Polygon and help us rule over UC?" He said it as if he was saying I was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Tsk, in short, he's persuading me to participate in his nonsense so that they can rise to the top. He's basically going to use me for their own benefit.

If he had asked me that the first time I arrived here, I would have happily said yes, but now that I know everything about the Underground City, I change my mind.

This kind of place is not worth ruling for. Despite the fact that some claimed I deserved to have the same power as Seth. That I'm already being called as the "Queen of the Underground City." I still think this place is a total shithole. I came here simply because I can do whatever I want to anyone.

"Thank you, but no." I said in a monotone tone.

"Oh, come on. I know you want control over this place as well. We still have a chance to dethrone the King." He was adamant. This guy cracks me up. He wanted to dethrone Seth? Hah! If only he knew I already had more power than he could have imagined.

"Get lost. I don't want to see your face again." I warned him.

I can see his face grimace and his nose flare in anger in my peripheral vision.

"Fine. Looks like you’re shack up with Sitan, anyway. What a bitch!” He spat and got to his feet.

I thought he was going to leave, but then I noticed him taking something on his waist. The bar lights reflected off the metal, and I knew immediately that it was a dagger.

He thrust his dagger into my direction in one swift motion, and I docked and slammed the glass I was holding into pieces before sticking it to the soft spot of his neck. Digging the broken glass deeper. I leaned over to his ear as his blood oozed down to my hands.

"I told you to get the fuck out of my face, but you never did." Before kicking his limp body to the floor, I whisper into his ear.

The crowds that surrounded us paused for a moment before returning to their own businesses.

Two large muscle men carried his lifeless body from the ground, and someone wiped the blood splattered on the floor. The bartender refills my glass with another shot, and I concentrate on it without wiping the blood from my gloves.

Someone took the place that Carter guy have seated a while ago.

Well, who do we have here.

"You put quite a show." He said then pulled out a white handkerchief and wiped the blood splattered on the counter.

My gaze scanned around to see if the guy who had been running through my mind for a while was with him, but he wasn't. He also seemed to notice that someone was looking for him.

"They're not with me." He said reassuring me.

"What do you want Styx?" I asked nonchalantly, as if I didn't understand what he was saying, while ordering another round of shots.

"Nothing." He shrugs as he orders a drink. I ignore him and quaff my drink straight while rhythmically tapping my fingers on the counter. He just stare at me intently and to my tapping fingers, I put my glass down and face him.

"I highly doubt that." I chirped.

"You're still mad at me, aren't you?" I continued taking my other shots, I know he still remembers what I've done to him.

"For a woman who broke my arm, so yeah I'm still mad." He said this, but his lips twitched slightly, forming a lopsided smile. The way he talks, I can't find any hint that he's mad.

"So, what do I need to do to earn your forgiveness?" I mock.

"A sorry will do." Well, I didn’t expect to have this kind of conversation with him. I know his hand itches to rip off my head but by the looks of him, he’s rather calm.

"Sorry." I said phonily not really sure what I was saying, he just chuckle and patted my head, which I immediately swatted.

What am I? A dog?

"You know, you reminded me of someone, well, except for the part about killing people. She has a close similarity to you but is vastly different. Do you see what I mean?" I know who he's referring to, and he's having trouble comparing the same person with opposite identities.

"Who?" I curiously asked even though I already know exactly who it is.

"Hmmm, her name is Tricia." My brows automatically rise at the peak. It is kind of weird for someone who is basically referring to myself in another point of view.

"So who is she to you?"

"It's a friend." He said it hesitantly. He truly treated me as a friend, which makes my heart skip a beat, but I know that when the time comes for him to realize who I truly am, he will do the same as Seth.

"So, am I now forgiven? I've already apologized." I changed the subject. I don't think I'll be able to handle that topic right now.

"No, not yet." With a devious grin on his face, he stood up and grabbed my wrist, dragging me out of the bar. We came to a halt in front of his Infinity Q60, and he pushed me into the passenger seat.

"Are you basically kidnapping me now?" I queried as soon as he stepped inside.

"In a way." He winks and starts the car, and we drive off the road. One thing I'm certain of is that we're not leaving in the underground.

We stopped at a big house or should I say mansion, I don’t know that this mansion exists in this kind of place.

"Where are we?" I asked as we descended.

"In our quarters." He replied.

"So you brought me here to beat me up with the three of you? Right?" I asked suspiciously, and he simply laughed at me.

"Well, you can't blame me if that happens." He said and yanked me in to the front door.

"Where are you from, Axhton?" Raynel asked as soon as we walked in, without taking his gaze away from the monitor. He looks to be engaged in some online gaming. After a brief pause, he was declared as the victor and turned to face us.

"You just left your game and — WHAT THE HELL IS THAT CHICKA BABE DOING HERE?" He shouted in shock the moment he saw me. Even when he's angry, he still manages to maintains his playboy demeanor.

"Hey Raynel, relax." Axthon stated calmly.

"Fuck Axhton! You want me to relax? Have you forgotten that she broke your arm and poisoned Seth?" He snarled, and Axhton quickly drew me behind him, as if I couldn't defend myself if Raynel lost his temper.

Or maybe he's just doing it to keep me from doing something bad to Raynel.

"Raynel, listen okay. She's already apologized."

"Right?" He asked, turning to face me.

"U-uhm, yeah, I'm sorry for what I did." I sincerely said this time, they've been great to me, or should I say to Tricia. Even if they didn’t know it was really me, it still counts.

"You sure you're truly sorry? You think we can just forgive you with a single sorry?" Raynel fumed. It looks to be more difficult than I anticipated.

“Snap it out, Raynel. I know you're angry with her, and I am as well.” Axthon gives him a sidelong glance. I know they're only acting this way because they believe I'm Tricia's missing twin.

“Can we really be friends?” Raynel sighs and his expression changes quickly. Riding on to whatever Axthon’s plan.

I gave him a reassuring nod and smile. I sigh as I walk towards him and reach my hands to him. At first, he looks at me with confusion, but that fades when I introduce myself.

"Hello, my name is Isla. You are?" I asked as if it is the first time we met.

"Raynel." He responded by taking my hand in his and bringing his lips to it, kissing it. "My lady." He added, as usual playboy as ever.

"Isla." Axhton wondered from behind me.

"Hmm?"

“Your name sounds familiar."

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?" A voice boomed from the stairs, making my heart race furiously. We all fell silent, and the only thing that could be heard were his footsteps.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me coldly as soon as he came into view. Axhton was about to say something when he was interrupted.

"Seth look—"

"YOU'RE NOT THE ONE I'M ASKING, SO SHUT THE FUCKING HELL UP!"
