59. The Mysterious Donor
Instantly, her eyes became round. Even when Cathy opened them, her eyes immediately shone brightly after being helpless. She was dumbfounded and silent for a few moments. The world seemed to stop spinning. Cathy rubbed her eyes repeatedly. It felt like a nightmare. Maybe she was hallucinating while her body was unwell.
She was incredulous and annoyed when Cathy managed to aim at the same spot. Yes, Cathy was back at the previous hospital. She could even see some of the maid nurses pushing a stretch.
"Damn it, woman!" screeched Cathy. She cursed with her words and gaze.
With a calm face, Agnes helped take off Cathy's helmet when some nurses came with a stretcher.
"Bitch!" Cathy swore. She cursed Agnes again with a fiery and vengeful look while the short-haired woman just casually shrugged her shoulders as if nothing had happened.
Then Agnes responsively helped Cathy walk, leading her. Several nurses also came to help her up the stretch. Even Cathy could not do anything. If she ran away, it would be even more ridiculous and embarrassing. So, Cathy could only surrender while holding a grudge against Agnes.
"You really can't be trusted!" Cathy growled with a cursing look.
"I told you, didn't I? There's no one to trust in this world." Agnes raised one eyebrow, then waved her hand at Cathy, who was now lying resignedly on the stretcher.
Even the few nurses nodded at Agnes as a signal that they would push the stretcher.
"I wish you a speedy recovery, crazy person!" Agnes exclaimed waving vigorously, letting Cathy disappear into the room for treatment.
Agnes softly exhaled as the stretch carrying Cathy disappeared from her sight. She felt that had been the most stupid and crazy woman in the world. There was something worse. Her brain was too narrow. She had realized her body couldn't cooperate but still acted like a badass.
Agnes couldn't imagine if Cathy hadn't met her. Maybe if she hadn't, Cathy would have bled to death. Besides, Agnes couldn't think of any place to take the crazy woman other than back to the hospital in that state. Maybe if her wounds got better, Agnes would take her to a more appropriate place. That is a mental hospital.
The short-haired woman had already arrived in front of Cathy's treatment room. But she did not enter. She chose to wait outside.
"Go home! Alex is looking for you!"
Suddenly Jonathan was beside her with Jayden and Elion.
"Well..." he couldn't finish his sentence. Agnes' focus shifted to the fresh, glowing young figure. "Who is this handsome young man?"
Jonathan then stood in front of Elion to block him from the itchy woman. Even Agnes frowned. She wanted to protest, but a doctor had already left the room where Cathy was being treated.
Everyone suddenly focused on the elderly doctor.
"How is my wife?" Jonathan confirmed.
"Miss Catharina will have to have another operation."
They should not have been surprised because Cathy was stubborn. Ah, that's right, she was crazy. Of course, the stitches that hadn't dried were problematic.
"There were a few stitches that came loose due to a lot of unnecessary movement," The Doctor continued. "Miss Catharina is almost bleeding out. So, we need a donor."
Agnes frowned. "What's the blood type of that crazy woman?" She nudged Jonathan's arm. "Do you know?"
Jonathan didn't answer because he didn't know. After all, what was the point of knowing blood type? Almost one month into his marriage, Jonathan didn't share much. There were only war-like fights, arguments, and sex. So, he chose to listen to the doctor again.
"Miss Catharina has blood type B."
"Damn. I'm an A," Jonathan grumbled. "What's your blood type, Agnes?"
"I'm Z."
Jonathan's eyes flashed, ready to curse.
Agnes laughed. Every once in a while, she could be heard making noise. Then she closed her mouth. "Sorry." She nudged Jonathan's arm again. "Why are you so serious, anyway?! I'm O.!"
"Of course I'm serious! My wife is not well!" Jonathan snapped.
"Then what's your blood type?" Jonathan didn't want to deal with his brother's wife. He asked Jayden and Elion.
"My blood type is O, too," Jayden said.
"I'm AB," Elion replied as well.
"Okay. You guys have nothing to worry about. We're still trying to inquire about blood stocks," The Doctor said and went inside to make another call while Jonathan, his colleague, and Agnes waited outside.
"Hey!" Agnes remembered something. "I heard you guys are hunting down the perpetrator. Have you caught him yet?"
"Did you think it would be that fast?"
"Of course. You're all over the continent. You have henchmen from every corner..." Agnes stopped her speech when she saw Jonathan's disgusted face. "Oh my! You look so much like your wife!"
Jonathan glared sarcastically.
"That cold, piercing gaze. Harsh and sharp words." Agnes hugged herself. "Psychopath."
Jonathan frowned. "Besides, it didn't just happen to me and Cathy. Everyone else would do the same when dealing with a human like you."
"Oh my God!" Agnes closed her gaping mouth. "You are the male version of that bitch, Catharina."
"Insolent!" Jonathan growled. His jaw hardened.
Agnes laughed. "Alright... alright. You have to sit quietly. Your wife needs treatment."
"You keep baiting me, Agnes." Jonathan got up from his chair as if he was making a preemptive strike. However, Jayden restrained him to remain calm and not make a scene.
"All right. I won't do it!" Agnes folded her arms across her chest. "Criminals must have a lot of new tactics. So, you and your men won't be able to catch them that easily, either. Yes, I believe and understand that."
"Anyway, if you guys catch him, don't forget to let me know." Agnes winked one sickening eye.
Even Jonathan did not respond. He chose to cover his ears so as not to be provoked by Agnes' ramblings. Jonathan's focus was only on Catharina. He immediately got up when the doctor came out.
"The bloodstock is not available. There's not much left at the Red Cross and other hospitals have taken it."
"What then? There must be another plan, right?" Jonathan confirmed.
"We need a donor. We need to find the right blood type."
"I'll do it!"
The unfamiliar voice made those who were there turn their heads. They were astonished to find a handsome man with blue eyes.
