After Party

After the wedding feast, all the invited nobles from both inside and outside the kingdom were still staying. Some of them took advantage of the period before returning home to establish cooperation. Their target was of course Noel. But he was interested in Serenity's daughter from the desert country.

Swana didn't hold it against him because this was the first time she had seen Noel this enthusiastic. Swana had known Noel all along, but he was reluctant to approach girls because he knew they would be tied up in political marriages. So Noel's approach to Serenity was a surprise.

However, Swana would no longer interfere with Noel's affairs. She was currently visiting the palace instead, to inform Yerenika that she and Curtis were leaving.

"Why did you decide to go home so soon?" Yerenika complained.

"I still have to prepare for the birth of my child. Besides, everything is under control so I can stay in the North with peace of mind," Swana replied.

Yes, Yerenika realized that she was going to have a niece. That was something amazing. A werewolf baby born of royal Sinclair blood. Surely that baby would be a great warrior.

"Alright, I understand. I hope your baby is born safely."

"Thank you. I also pray that you get pregnant quickly."

Yerenika chuckled. She was also looking forward to her pregnancy. It would complete the happiness she felt now.

"By the way, how is Noel doing now? I heard from Yura that he's busy choosing a gift for Princess Serenity?" Swana asked.

Of course she had to make the most of the time she had left to chat before it was time for her to return.

"Yeah, she's like a crazy person," replied Yerenika with a giggle. "You'd laugh if you saw her red face but desperate to be serious."

"Wow, that's a rare sight. I should have seen it hihihi."

They continued talking until Curtis' arrival was announced. The man approached Swana and immediately wrapped his arms around her back.

"We have to leave now," Curtis said.

"All right, and Yerenika. I look forward to your visit in the north. See you soon."

Yerenika returned the farewell by hugging Swana. She could not bear to part from the woman who had always solved every problem in the kingdom.

"Yes, I'll be there when the kingdom stabilizes. I also haven't visited Estelle in a long time. "

Swana smiled and turned around with Curtis. Both headed to the front of the palace grounds. There was Noel waiting.

"Goodbye, Swana," said Noel.

That new king also hugged Swana to say goodbye.

Swana let go of Noel's embrace. Then she started heading towards the horse-drawn carriage. Curtis helped Swana get on carefully. Then followed Swana to sit in the carriage.

This time their carriage would no longer be escorted by Samuel. Jason would be Curtis' only captain who would accompany the man wherever he went.

"Let's go!" Jason shouted.

Their entourage moved towards the North. Samuel witnessed this with mixed feelings. He had never expected to be separated from Curtis. Even in his life he had never dreamed of parting from Curtis.

It's just that he realized that he had to sacrifice many things to get something. He had to separate from the Commander who had been educating him for Yerenika's sake. Also for the sake of everyone's peace.

***

Three months had passed since Yerenika and Noel's wedding. At first, Samuel thought that everything would be fine. But who would have thought that there would be a rebellion in the kingdom? Everything was very chaotic. Moreover, the rebellion came from the people. They were dissatisfied with the actions of the nobles and Noel's leadership.

The situation escalated. The royal troops were unable to contain the angry people. From here Noel again showed his petty and cowardly side.

"Samuel, you must protect me no matter what! Take me to the escape tunnel!"

"Alright, but I have to pick up Yerenika. My wife is two months pregnant and I can't leave her alone," Samuel said.

"To hell with my sister! Your job is to protect me, not anyone else!" Noel's selfish command.

Samuel immediately directed his cold gaze at Noel. He began to feel that a man like him did not deserve to be king.

"I've been patient with your childish behavior, Noel. But I didn't think you could be this disgusting," Samuel hissed.

Without thinking, he threw the man onto the throne and left. For him, Yerenika was more important than anything else.

"Sam! Stop. You have to take care of me! Samuel!"

The door to the royal hall slammed reluctantly, making a horrible noise. Samuel knew that the people had managed to break in. They entered the hall but stopped when they saw Samuel. Everyone had heard that Samuel was a werewolf with extraordinary powers.

The people began to hesitate, unsure whether to move forward or backward.

But their hesitation disappeared as Samuel stepped out and cut through the crowd. That's when Noel screamed in terror. The people really didn't give him a chance to run.

Samuel rushed to the moon palace to find Yerenika. He made it before the citizens arrived at the moon palace. Here he stood guard at the gate to keep the people away.

Yerenika watched her husband head to the gates of the moon palace. She let out a long sigh, knowing that sooner or later this would happen. After his betrothal to Serenity he had become a spendthrift king who liked to splurge. The nobles supported him by charging high taxes. No matter how many times Yerenika advised, her words seemed to be taken for granted by Noel. And this was the result, the people revolted.

Soon people started heading to the moon palace. They also wanted to put Yerenika on trial for her extravagance. But Samuel drew his sword and threatened them.

"Do what you want to do, but don't even think of touching my pregnant wife," Samuel threatened.

The rang people who came seemed dissatisfied with Samuel's actions. He had let Noel fall into their hands but now he was protecting his brother. They were sure that his brother had also been wasteful and had strangled the people to the point that many were starving.

"But she has also committed the crime of being wasteful, making us suffer."

So these people misunderstood his wife. Samuel tried to explain what happened. He didn't want his wife's good name to be ruined.

"You are wrong. It's my wife who's trying hard to get Noel to wake up. She hasn't been to a party since she married me because she's pregnant so there's no way she has time to shop!"

Everyone was silent.

" Really, don't lie just for your own sake."

"I guarantee it with my life. My wife is innocent."

They finally left. They took Samuel's defense for granted. Because even if they argued, they couldn't win against Samuel.

After they left, Samuel ran to see Yerenika who was hiding in the room with the servants.

They immediately opened the door when Samuel arrived.

"Yerenika, are you okay?"

Samuel obviously immediately hugged his frightened wife.

"How is Noel?" Yerenika asked. This is what she feared and it finally happened. Noel's careless and reckless nature finally paid off.

"They're taking him. I'm sure there will be a lot of nobles hanging in the field."

Yerenika cried. No matter what happened, Noel was her only brother.

"Aren't you helping him?"

"No, we all know that he deserves punishment along with the greedy nobles. Yerenika, you must sacrifice Noel for the sake of this kingdom. Otherwise, it will all be over. The other kingdoms will target the chaotic Sinclair and colonize it."

Yerenika knew her cries were getting louder. Although she had asked for help from the North, it would take them a day to arrive.

"Then what should I do?"

"Stay strong," Samuel replied.

Maybe Curtis wouldn't come later. He had heard that Swana was in labor. He didn't want to leave Swana to help Noel and the others.

Behind it all, everything was actually Samuel and Curtis' plan. Because of Noel's horrible behavior, Samuel no longer wanted to protect Noel. So Samuel asked Curtis to make the people in Sinclair rebel. This will make Yerenika the only legal heir with her son.

'It was cruel, but Noel didn't give me a choice. He's stubborn so I need to get the people to hang Noel and the others soon,' Samuel mused.

Only he and Curtis knew about this matter. All for their safety. Because if Swana and Yerenika knew, they would hate them.
