Ignored
Curtis' anger was real. Unable to vent his frustration towards Swana, he sent his servants away. This time the man directed his anger at the monsters that had been plaguing him lately. And with no time to waste, he fought the monsters that were evolving rapidly.
The nobles who heard about this immediately reported to Noel. They immediately discussed this matter in the meeting room.
"We must solve this problem immediately. Why are they suddenly developing after such a long period of no-show!" The prime minister became very vocal.
"That's right. Our kingdom has long been safe from the problem of monsters. But now it has appeared again."
Noel was still silent waiting for the nobles to finish voicing their opinions. She actually already knew the reason for the monsters' appearance. He even knew how to deal with them. But he was sure that Curtis would not agree.
"So prince Noel, what opinion do you have?" The prime minister finally asked Noel who had been silent.
"I know how to solve this problem, but I'm not sure Commander Curtis will agree," Noel replied.
The nobles immediately fell silent, they really didn't expect Noel to have a solution to the Monster problem. They cautiously asked Noel.
"Can you tell us what that solution is?"
Prince Noel let out a long sigh. This problem was actually known to him when he accidentally saw King Damian talking to the previous head of magic.
"I believe the cause of the monsters coming out in the South area was the breaking of the protective seal. So the monsters confined within the seal were set free."
By now everyone knew what Noel meant by saying that Commander Curtis would not agree to the solution that would be offered. It was because of Curtis' enmity with the witches.
"Geez, so that's the problem," the prime minister muttered.
"But Commander Curtis can't be concerned with personal feelings. He must think of the safety of the people in the southern region."
Unfortunately, no one dared to make a suggestion to Curtis. Especially now that the man was rumored to be going crazy while hunting monsters. He seemed to be slaughtering monsters in the south to channel his anger.
Now the nobles who were meeting fell into silence. No one dared to offer themselves to ask Curtis for permission to invite Eden. All of them were too fond of their lives so they chose to remain silent.
This was why Noel just let out a long sigh. Now he knew how heavy the problem carried by a leader was.
"I wish Queen Swana was here," said one of the nobles.
Yes, now they were beginning to miss Swana. If she were there everything would be so easy.
"No, even if Queen Swana were here she wouldn't be much help," said Noel.
The nobles remembered that there was tension between Swana and Curtis.
"Yes, you're right."
Everyone returned to silence. They seemed to be faced with a dead end.
Noel spoke up again. "Let's wait for the results of Commander Curtis' purge, if he fails I'm sure he'll find a solution. We can tell him our idea," Noel suggested.
Since there was no other way, the nobles agreed to Noel's proposal. After all, no one dared to open Curtis' wounds by proposing to summon Eden.
On the other side, the bodies of the monsters were scattered on the ground. And Curtis was in the middle of the monster corpses.
"We're camping at the edge of the forest."
Curtis decided to camp at the edge of the forest that had been feared by the residents because the monsters that attacked the village always returned to the forest.
"Are you tired? There's a river over there. You can take a bath there," Jason said.
Curtis looked at his body covered in slime and green liquid and nodded. He felt relieved after expending his energy to fight. Perhaps today was enough to get rid of the tightness in his chest. And he would continue tomorrow.
"You're right, I need a shower."
However, things did not turn out the way he thought. The image of Swana taking a bath began to appear. Her silky, soft and beautiful body haunted his mind. This made him tormented with grief again.
"I'm going crazy."
He should have known that it was impossible to remove Swana from his mind. The bond of the soulmate symbol would continue to make him miss Swana. And it can only be removed if he rejects Swana.
"No, I would never do that!" The crazy idea made her tremble. The thought of losing Swana was terrifying.
"I won't let go of my Luna, ever."
"Commander?" Called Samuel who appeared as Curtis shouted.
Curtis almost killed Samuel in surprise. He pointed a sword at his captain.
"Oh, it's you," said Curtis who immediately withdrew his sword.
"I'm sorry for showing up so suddenly, because I heard you yelling."
Curtis did not answer. He knew that he was not well and often hallucinated seeing Swana. It had been a month since she left and Curtis was tormented by sadness and longing.
"It's okay. "
Samuel knew that his Commander was missing Swana. But he was also still angry at his Luna mate.
"You missed the queen and lied to yourself to death."
Curtis was angry that Samuel was talking about his personal problems without him asking.
"Shut up Sam. I didn't ask for your opinion."
Samuel obviously didn't dare to go against orders. He nodded and turned away. But before that, he turned his head to say something.
"Who is your anger for. Who do you hate Eden for? No one demands that you take revenge on the witches because we have slaughtered them."
"And we have avenged our brother's death."
Having said that, Samuel left. Ignorant of the brotherhood between the werewolves. It was over, even King Damian was dead. So there was no point in holding a grudge.
"You'll suffer just because of a stupid grudge," Samuel grumbled.
Curtis heard everything. He really couldn't understand why Samuel said that. He should have supported his revenge attempt on Eden. The last witch. But his captain said he was a fool.
'Did I do something wrong?' Curtis thought.
