Chapter 15— Saving Kent and Austin

 "Ahhh!” Cassandra wails in pain when Lucy shot her arms that made her stop from stabbing Kent with the syringe. She let go of her grip and the needle fell on the floor. 

That thing will make Kent's body paralyzed and that made her start her plan of killing him, but Lucy came, and Cassandra's plan failed.

“How dare you tried to kill my husband?” Lucy yelled at her. She can't stop being mad anymore even Cassandra is dear to her heart.

Kent quickly ran to his wife. 

Cassandra holds her bloody arms with anger in her eyes. 

"You don't know what I've been through, Lucy! You know nothing about me!” she shouted at her. 

Lucy doesn't know whether to pity her or not. She took his son and Austin is nowhere. She didn't notice that her tears are streaming on her face. 

“Why? Why Cas? We're friends, right? What did I do to you to make you do this to me? To my family and my son?” Lucy finds a reason why she did it. 

Cassandra cried too. She shook her head telling Lucy that it's not her intention to hurt her.

"I'm sorry, Lucy. I'm your friend. I just want to have a child again! Kent's dad is the reason why our daughter died, and I feel like I am dying the time my daughter held her last breath in front of me,” she said.

"His dad is the real evil here. I'm so sorry but I need to go to Val and Austin. Please let me come with them,” she said like a crazy woman again.

Lucy doesn't understand her. She asks Kent about it, but he was unaware too. 

"I don't know about it," Kent said. 

Lucy pointed her gun again at Cassandra. 

"I don't know your alibi, but you have to tell us where you hid Austin?” her voice is shaking. 

Cassandra chuckled. She looks like she didn't want to cooperate. 

“Why would I do that? Go, ahead, kill me, Lucy! It's okay so that I can be reunited with my Kylie in heaven,” she said spreading he arms to accept her death. 

Kent became impatient and snatch his gun at Lucy's hands. His eyes stretch wide open when he was about to pull the trigger of the gun. 

"Tell where our son now or else, I'll shoot your head!” he yelled at her. 

Lucy holds Kent's hands to stop him. 

“No! Don't do it! We need Austin's alive! Please,” she begs for her husband to calm down. 

Kent doesn't know what to do. He just couldn't control his anger because of what Cassandra did to him. He felt gross and wanted to puke when her body touches his skin. 

Cassandra chuckled and trying to walk closer towards them. 

"Go! Kill me! Shoot that bullet in my head. I don't care anymore because your dad destroyed our life! He is the reason why my daughter die! Won't you get it? He was also the reason why I went to prison!” she shouted at them. 

That's the time that Kent let go of his grip on the gun. He's speechless and confused. Lucy can't understand too. She has no idea that Cassandra has a connection with Kent's dad, her father-in-law, Alexander. 

“My dad again? So, this happened because of him again?” Kent mumbled and dropped his knee on the floor. 

That's the time the police came and quickly walked inside to buckled Cassandra's wrist with the handcuffs. 

"You're under arrest Mrs. Cassandra Wilson for kidnapping a minor. You have the right to defend yourself with your attorney!” police officer Mikael said. 

“No! How about my husband? Did you catch him too and Austin? No, don't do this. I need to make my family complete. Let me go!” she keeps on screaming and struggling from their grip. 

"Sir, where's my son? Did you catch her husband?” Lucy asked the officer. 

“Yeah, we found them at the yacht near the Manila Bay. He was about to start the match engine when we came. Your son is safe ma'am and Sir," Mikael told them and brought Cassandra to the Makati Police Department.

Val POV:

It was nine in the evening, but Cassandra hasn't called yet. She needs to be here at 8:30 pm but why she's not even calling me? 

I saw Austin crying at the corner. Poor boy, he had to pay for his grandfather's sin. 

"Please, sir. I want to go home! Let me go, please? I miss my parents so much. I promise I won't tell anything." Austin grabs my pants. I looked down and saw his damp eyes. 

I felt pity for him, but this is the only way to get our revenge on the Stone family. All of them are evil. Every time I think about the time when I beg to borrow money for the medication of my daughter and didn't even offer me a single penny made me want to kill them all. 

I close my eyes tightly and let go of my good side. I need to think of Kylie. I need to avenge her death. We will take him to be our new child. I need to stick to the plan.

I kick him and he stumbled to the ground.

"Let go of me! No one will save you here!” I said and glared at him.

He just crawled to the corner and made a soft sob.

Val took a deep breath and tried calling my wife again. 

“Hello, where are you? We're here now. I thought you would—Hello? Hello!" I didn't know why, but she quickly turned it off. 

I waited for fifteen minutes when five police officers came in. I quickly took my gun from my pocket at my back and pointed it to them. 

"Don't come near me or I will kill this boy!” I warned them with my wide eyes. 

I get Austin and point it at his head. The little boy cries in fear. 

Police officers stayed away but they warned me too. They caught my wife already. 

“Sir, don't do that to the boy. We can talk about this. If you kill him, your case will be doubled. And also, we already have your wife. She's in the police station now." They explained it to me, but I don't believe it. 

I walked back near the yacht window. If they get me, I will just jump to the sea with Austin. I tightly hold the gun and Austin while police officers decided to catch him by force. 

They have a sniper and he's there waiting from afar with Mikael's signal. 

"Surrender now and you will be getting out alive here. Think of your daughter Kylie what will she felt when she saw her dad hurting a child the same age as her? If you won't surrender, we will have no choice," Mikael said. 

Val dropped his head and freed Austin from his grip. The kid quickly ran to them, and Val kneeled and cupped his head. 

"Kylie? My daughter? Wait, dad will buy you food. Dad will never leave you." He's talking to himself like a crazy guy, and he is caught off guard. 

The police officers quickly ran and pinned his arms from his back. They handcuffed him and took Austin to another car. 

Mikael gets his phone and calls detective Damian. 

"Sir, we have them,” he said and they headed to the police station. 

Media from different stations and news centers outside the station are all waiting for Austin's kidnappers. The couple named Cassandra and Val just came.

"Mrs. Wilson, what is your motive for the kidnapping of Austin Stone, the son of your once inmate friend and now the wife of a wealthy businessman, Kent Oliver Stone? We heard also that Mr. Wilson was an old employee of Kent's dad?” one reporter asks Cassandra. 

Cassandra just stayed quiet like she didn't hear anything. The couple was brought inside the interrogation room. Austin and Kent were finally saved. Lucy felt relieved. 

The couple waited inside the station's lobby to wait for their son Austin. Lucy brought his favorite ice cream flavor, which is mango. She keeps fidgeting her fingers and Kent noticed her. 

“Honey, just relax. We will meet our son, Austin after five minutes. Don't worry, he's fine." Kent guaranteed his wife. 

Lucy took a deep breath. She stops moving her fingers and smiled at him. 

"I know. I just want to prepare myself when I see him. I don't know if our son will still accept us for being careless,” she mumbled. 

Kent's eyes cheered when Austin appeared at their sight. 

"Son? Austin?” he exclaimed, and Lucy saw their son too. 

“Daddy! Mommy!” he shouted and ran towards them.

"Austin, our son! Yes, it's us and we promised not to leave you with strangers again." Lucy swore to her son.

She and Kent wrapped their arms towards their son. 

"I and your mom promised not to let go of you anymore. We love you so much and we miss you, son." Kent told Austin. 

They quickly wiped the tears from their faces and Lucy cheerfully gets the container of ice cream she bought for his child. 

"Baby, mom brought you something. You're favorite. Can you guess it?” she asked his ten years old son. 

Kent just cleared his throat while waiting for his son's answer. 

“Hm, let me guess. Hm, ice cream? Mango flavor?” he quickly answered and both of them stared at one another and smiled.

"Correct! You got it, son." They said and winks at each other. 

"Yes!” he jumped in joy, and he quickly opened it and took one spoon. 

But when detective Damian came and requested their presence to check their dad Alexander and when he said that Eloisa and Gale are there too, Kent realized what Cassandra revealed was the truth. 

“Sir, did my dad the one who schemed Cassandra's murder case?” Kent asked him to confirm and Damian nods his head. 

“We will take care of Austin. This will be a long night for us!” he told them. 

While on their way to the interrogation room, Lucy saw Cassandra and her husband Val in another room but they're both chained with handcuffs. 

She saw her and Cassandra saw her too. She looks sorry in her state but for Lucy, she's only doing it so that she can get her sympathy but not anymore. 

Lucy narrowed her face on her while going inside the room. She met Eloisa and Gale standing beside her father-in-law. 

In front of him was Detective Damian and officer Mikael. 

"Dad, what is this? I thought you were busy with our company. How come you do this to your hardworking employee? See—" Kent wanted to blame him for everything when Gale stops him. 

“Hey, Kent! Will you please shut up! We need to think of dad too. Why you're so sensitive? Don't you know that the crazy couple over there is the ones who kidnapped your son?” Gale's voice roared like a lion.

Lucy heard it too and she doesn't like what Gale said so she reacted. 

"Gale, this is not the time to be angry. Can you think about what trauma Kent was facing when Cassandra tried to inject him with a syringe? Do you know how hurt he was when she told him that dad was the reason why they became like that?” she said. 

All of them were startled when Alexander slammed his fist on the table. 

“Enough! I came here to confess and not to make a scene here!” he shouted and all of them stopped. 

Eloisa has no idea that her dad is part of the crime too. He's the assailant and Alexander is the mastermind. 

Damian called Eloisa's attention. 

"Mrs. Stone, can I have a word with you?” he asked her, and she just nods her head. 

He took one folder and flip a page and stop at the photo of an old man, she's familiar with. 

“Do you know where your dad is? We need his confession too,” he informed her, and Eloisa started to look puzzled.
