CHAPTER 146

CHAPTER 146
ANASTASIA

"My child," Father called. His voice filled with pain and regret.

"I... I can explain."

"You don't have to... I heard it all," I revealed, wiping the tears streaming from the side of my eyes.

"How it all started. I've been listening. Linda didn't mention that when she was begging for a cure," I chuckled, holding back my emotions.

"Boy did she spoil your name," I added, hovering my gaze at the pillars of crates around me.

"She didn't hold back even for a second."

Just looking at these mountains of drugs made my heart ache bitterly.

When Linda told me that father was the mastermind, I refused to believe her nonsense, taking it as her desperation to get the cure.

But she began giving details that felt too real to ignore.

From his business trips to his birthday party at Northern Lights... Linda claimed father has been seeing Woods to discuss about the drugs and its distribution.

"That's the source to his wealth. Without these drugs, he's a nobody," She had said, sounding serious.

I still didn't want to believe her words, and even threatened to make her pay if she was lying.

That's when Linda told me about Father's hideout, situated not under one, but two of his companies in Wolf Blood.

She gave me the location he mostly visits and told me to check for myself.

And with a heavy heart, I came down here to prove Linda wrong. But... She was right.

"Your father knew you were infected that night. He just didn't want to bring himself to accept his own crime, that's why he kicked you out to wash the guilt away. I'm not a saint myself, but I still tried to get him to make peace with you. He's no different from the Mafias. He's one of them," She added, thinking her words would turn me against my father.

"What a shocker," I chuckled, looking at both father and Diego.

They were worried about me, about my heart.

I wanted to act strong and hide my pain, but staring at my father, with the truth slapping me in the face from every corners, I felt weak as fuck.

"I have to leave," I said, turning around.

"Anna, please don't go," Father's voice cracked, as he pleaded with me.

I just needed a quiet place to think and be alone.

But I was blocked by Diego who swiftly stood in my way, gazing into my eyes worriedly.

"Anna, don't go," He spoke softly, taking hold of my hands.

"I know you're hurting inside. But please... Don't leave this place without hearing him out. He never meant for this to happen."

"I know," I responded, sniffing as my eyes began welling with tears.

"He was looking after me, and it led to this," I said, referring to the crates around us.

"You can say I'm the reason this substance is in this world. Father was forced into a life he never wanted. If only I hadn't fallen ill that day, he wouldn't have met Woods."

"Don't say that," Father spoke from behind, turning me over.

He wiped the tears from my face and comforted me, "This isn't your fault. I allowed my fear to push me into this. I didn't want to lose my precious girl, that's why I did what any father would have done."

"I'm sorry that my actions caused you a lot of pains. If I had given you the chance to speak to me without being afraid, I wouldn't have sent you away. Forgive me," He pleaded, lowering his head regretfully.

Hurt, I lifted his face and said, looking him straight in the eyes, "It's okay, Dad. It's not your fault either. You couldn't stop destiny's plan."

"If you hadn't taken that step, I wouldn't have met Diego," I smiled, turning over to look at my Alpha.

"Think about it. Woods didn't want you anywhere near him, but the Goddess said we must cross paths no matter what. And thanks to him, Woods is gone. You're finally free from his manipulations."

The sadness in my father's eyes faded.

He looked over at Diego and couldn't hold back his gladness.

"I was hurt at first, but now..." I smiled, wrapping one arm around father, then the other around Diego. "I'm happy that all this drama happened. It gave me the best father and the best mate."

Father laughed, embracing me tight.

I don't care about the past anymore. I am happy with my present.

Father no longer had to carry the weight of guilt on his shoulder. He was ready to get rid of the drugs, even if it means losing his source of income for good.

But Diego had a much better plan that'd benefit him.

"Don't stop producing these drugs," He said, slipping his hands into his pocket.

"Your product is the main ingredient behind our cure."

"What?" Father was surprised to learn that his own creation brought about the cure that saved my life.

The drug he considered poisonous, ended up fulfilling a wish he once longed for.

This made him proud.

Diego shared his plans to transform the drugs into the cure, which he'll sell to those in need.

"I'll be needing a shipload this month. If you need any help in getting more hands to make the job faster, just tell me and I'll handle it."

"You've done enough, son. I can handle this part of the job myself... partner," Father smiled, extending his hand out to Diego.

They shook hands, sealing the deal.

Soon, Diego and I left the hideout with father, who couldn't wait to start shipping the drugs over to our pack.

He returned to his company with a big smile on his face, while my Alpha and I made our way back to Crescent.

When we arrived at the mansion, I got a call from Sonia. She was checking up on me.

She couldn't follow me down to the company because I told her not to.

I only assured her that everything would be fine.

"We resolved the problem," I said, turning to look at Diego, who was leaning against the wall, staring at me.

"Just get yourself ready for my big day. It's going to be wild."

"You can trust me on that," She laughed.

I smiled, ending the call.

Then I turned around to face Diego, who came closer and took me by the chin for a kiss.

He drew his lips from mine and said, "I'm proud of you."

My heart glowed beautifully at his words.

"Thank you," I appreciated wholeheartedly.

"Did you give Linda the cure after she told you the truth?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I scoffed and replied, "Nope. Her so-called truth had lies in it. She tried to turn me against my father, so I told her to see the main boss if she wants to be healed."

"That's my girl," He chuckled, poking my nose.

"I don't want anyone stressing my beautiful Queen before our big day. Daddy needs his girl looking breathtaking for him," He teased, getting romantic with me.

I giggled, resting in his hold.

.

At last, my mating ceremony was here.

I sat before the mirror, staring at my wedding dress, while Sonia and the maids, attended to me speedily.

In the next five minutes, I'll be walking down the aisle with my father.

"Gosh, my heart is beating so fast," I gulped, feeling nervous.

I know I always call myself Diego's Luna, but he's finally taking that big step to make me his queen permanently.

It's really happening.

"It's time!" Sonia screamed, helping me off the seat.

That's when father came in to get me. He was left emotional when he saw me in my dress.

"My beautiful gem," He smiled, giving me a hug.

"Everyone is waiting for you," He said, taking me out of the room.

In no time, we were walking down the aisle, which was held at the biggest Hall in Crescent pack, filled with so many guests, sitting on both sides.

I lifted my head to the altar and saw Arnold and Jeremy—Diego's best men—smiling right at me. And in front stood my Alpha Lord, waiting.

His lips curled into a smile, his beautiful desperate eyes fixed on me, as he waited patiently for my arrival.

When father brought me before him, Diego took hold of my hand and carefully pulled me close, still gazing at my beauty.

"Waw. The Goddess is indeed with us," He flirted, making me blush.

He didn't give a damn if anyone heard him.

Right now, I was the only one that mattered to him.

"Alpha Diego of Crescent Pack, do you take Anastasia De Great to be your lawfully wedded wife, your mate and Luna, in sickness and in health, in rich and in poor, until death do you part?" The elders read, making my heart race.

Then Diego, before everyone, held my hand and said, "Even in our next life... you will always and always be my Luna."

He kissed my hand, stealing everyone's heart with his vow.

In fact, it sealed the deal. I couldn't wait for the elders to read the same lines to me.

I just went for it, jumping into Diego's arms for the kiss.

"Oh! I... I guess you can just kiss your... Okay, you're doing that already."

Everyone cheered, congratulating us.

We were lost in the moment. Our hearts finally united as one.

My chin was being held by Diego, who slowly broke the, staring into my eyes lovingly.

With a smirk appearing on his face, he said, caressing my lower lip, "You're finally my Queen, and no one can change that. Nobody."

"Nobody," I whispered, shutting my eyes as our foreheads touched.

Even in our next life, no matter where I go... I know you'll find me and Take me, Alpha Lord.

THE END.
