Chapter 200 Each Has Their Own Outcome
Chapter 200 Each Has Their Own Outcome
On the way back to the Johnson Mansion, the atmosphere in the car was thick with tension.
Jason raised the partition between the front and back seats.
Hazel glanced at Lawrence several times before finally speaking up.
"Did you hand over all the evidence?"
Lawrence, who had been resting with his eyes closed, slowly opened them and turned to look at Hazel. "Yeah, it's all submitted. Nervous?"
Understanding why Lawrence asked, Hazel shook her head.
They both knew that today's return to the Johnson Mansion was different from any other day.
Today, they were going back to fight.
To settle the score for what happened years ago.
Hazel's response sent a warm feeling through Lawrence. He pulled Hazel into his arms and kissed the top of her head.
"As long as I'm here, I won't let them hurt you."
He had thought he would live his life alone.
But a whirlwind marriage had brought unexpected color to his life.
Hazel found a comfortable position in his arms. "I'll be with you. I have some skills too, you know."
Hearing Hazel's confident words, Lawrence's smile deepened.
"Alright, you're the best."
Lawrence's affectionate tone lightened the heavy atmosphere a bit.
As the car pulled into the Johnson Mansion, Hazel saw the crowd gathered at the entrance before she even got out.
A cold smile tugged at her lips.
When Lawrence was still in a wheelchair, the Johnson family had never gathered like this to welcome them back.
Sure enough, now that they knew Lawrence could walk, their attitudes had changed.
As they got out of the car, Gerald and Bryan's families rushed over, their faces full of joy.
"I always said Lawrence was lucky. He wouldn't be in a wheelchair forever."
"Exactly! You should have told us your leg was healed. If it weren't for last night's trending news, we'd still be in the dark."
Standing beside Lawrence, Hazel looked at their hypocritical faces, barely holding back her urge to curse them out.
Jeremy approached Lawrence, looking him up and down before patting his shoulder.
"Good to see you're well. Good to see you're well."
Repeating himself, Jeremy turned and said, "Let's go inside."
With Jeremy's words, everyone moved inside.
Hazel and Lawrence were the last to enter the crowded living room.
Luna looked at Hazel. "Hazel, when did Lawrence's leg heal? Why didn't you tell us?"
Her tone was as annoying as ever to Hazel.
Just as Hazel was about to retort, Lawrence spoke, looking at the other Johnson family members in the room.
A slight smile crossed his handsome face. "I didn't expect my recovery to concern you all so much. Since everyone is here, it's a good time to settle some scores."
As soon as Lawrence finished speaking, the room fell silent.
Jeremy frowned in displeasure. "Lawrence, today is a great day. Why talk about settling scores?"
Lawrence's gaze turned cold. "Grandpa, do you know what score I want to settle? Let me ask you, did my parents really die in a car accident?"
At the mention of his parents' death, everyone's expressions changed.
Gerald and Bryan's eyes flashed with panic.
Even Jeremy's eyes showed a moment of shock, though he hid it well.
"Recently, I learned some things by chance. Gerald, Bryan, did you think about today when you drugged my parents back then?"
"After my parents died in the car accident, you set fire to Elysium Psychiatric Hospital, killing everyone there. Did you think I wouldn't find the evidence?"
Lawrence's voice was firm, and Gerald and Bryan's faces turned pale.
Bryan immediately stood up, pointing at Lawrence's nose and shouting, "What nonsense are you spouting! Your parents died in a car accident. What drugs! You have no evidence and are falsely accusing us. Lawrence, don't think we fear you just because you control the Johnson Group now!"
Facing Bryan's accusations, Hazel stepped forward.
"Bryan, why are you so agitated? Afraid of hurting your back? Remember, God is watching. Would Lawrence say this without evidence?"
Hazel's fearless retort made Bryan's face turn livid.
"You're just an outsider. What do you know!"
Lawrence looked at Bryan coldly. "She's my wife, not an outsider. And she's right. I do have evidence. Jason, give everyone a copy of the evidence."
At his command, Jason, who had been waiting at the door, walked in.
He handed out the prepared evidence to everyone, regardless of whether they wanted it or not.
Jason then played a recording on his tablet, and Gerald's voice came through clearly.
"No, it's impossible! After all these years, how can there still be evidence!"
Bryan shouted in despair as he looked at the irrefutable evidence before him.
Jeremy, looking at the evidence, remained unusually calm. "Enough!"
With his words, everyone fell silent.
Jeremy looked at Lawrence, curiosity in his heart. When did Lawrence, raised by his side, become a stranger?
"Grandpa, judging by your expression, you knew about what happened back then, didn't you?"
Lawrence spoke, and Jeremy seemed to deflate, closing his eyes without a word.
His reaction stunned everyone.
Those who didn't know the truth about what happened back then now had their answer from Jeremy's reaction.
They had thought Lawrence's parents died in a simple car accident.
But it turned out they were killed by Gerald and Bryan. The evidence detailed how Gerald and Bryan had long been drugging Lawrence's parents with hallucinogens, leading to the car accident.
"Your father was my child, and so are Gerald and Bryan. I couldn't lose two more children after losing one."
Jeremy's voice was filled with endless sorrow.
Hazel almost laughed in anger at Jeremy's words.
Lawrence also laughed suddenly. "Too bad, Grandpa. Today, your other two sons will also be taken away. You can spend your remaining years peacefully at the Johnson Mansion. They have more than just my parents' lives on their hands. There are also the dozens of lives from Elysium Psychiatric Hospital. They'll spend the rest of their lives in prison."
With that, Lawrence took Hazel's hand and left the Johnson Mansion.
In the distance, police cars roared past them, heading into the mansion.
Lawrence looked up at the sky and sighed softly.
"Mom, Dad, you can rest in peace now."
A gentle breeze blew, carrying away his sigh.
