You Really Don't Know Me Well.
You Really Don't Know Me Well.
“How do you feel?”
Evans didn't respond to the question as he kept his eyes outside the window, he really wasn't looking at anything but he just wanted to remain this way for a while.
His fingers curled around his phone and his eyes pierced through the window like he could see Nathan’s home from where he was standing.
He hadn't been able to fall asleep even though he was so tired and weak after their intense intimate session yesterday night, he had watched Nathan sleep, imagined a lot of things and even kissed him quietly, but he knew what he did was for the best.
If he kept staying there, things would never get better and they would keep going on and off which he didn't want. At one moment, he had really wanted to confess his love to Nathan, he had even imagined Nathan accepting his proposal but then, his rationality won.
Nathan wouldn't agree and would choose Jesse over him, he was aware, but still—
Evans sighed, then chuckled silently before turning around to face Megan.
“Why won’t I be okay? I’m very okay.” He answered her question indifferently, then walked past her to pick up his bag.
Megan watched him arrange his bag silently and her heart couldn't help but pound against her ribs.
“Where are you going?” She asked.
“Of course, where else?” He threw her a glance, then continued to pack his bags, “I would be staying with my granny till I find a way out.” He announced.
Megan was stunned at first, she looked at him with furrowed brows, “But—I thought you would be staying with me? Is that not how we did it before?” She grunted, then walked ahead to sit next to him to help him arrange his bag.
Evans chuckled, “No. Haven't you noticed people have been misunderstanding our relationship? Don't you want to get a boyfriend?” Evans asked, though he wasn't really curious to know.
Megan who held Evans ‘ book in her hand froze in shock, her heart skipped a bit and she sneaked a glance at the expression on Evans’ face Seeing that he looked normal and had only asked in confusion, she secretly heaved a sigh of relief then lowered her head with a sad sigh which finally drew Evans’ attention.
“What is it? Are you facing some difficulties?” He asked worriedly.
Megan shook her head, then nodded in the next second which added more confusion to Evans and he grew more worried. This was the first time he saw his friend sad over a relationship problem. He had always known Megan to be a strong and wild lady and she has lots of guys pursuing her.
He knelt on the floor and looked at her with calmness, “You can talk to me.”
Megan gave him a small smile, “Well, it really is nothing. Just that, the person I love is in love with someone else.” She explained simply.
Evans was confused at first, then gasped in surprise, "Isn't this just like my situation?!” He asked.
Megan nodded.
“But…Who wouldn't like you? I think the person is stupid! You’re beautiful, confident and though you can be too stubborn and possessive sometimes and always try to play tricks, you’re still the best!” He complimented sincerely, then suddenly gritted his teeth fiercely.
“The person who hurt you really needs to be taught a lesson!” He growled threatenly but when he turned to Megan, he found her looking at him in a daze but he didn't think too much about it as he thought she was thinking about the person and this made him more angry.
“Do I know the person?! I really need to beat him up!” He asked as he stood up like he was really ready to beat someone up.
Megan who had just snapped out of her daze was stunned by his words, then she flashed him a hopeless smile and shook her head helplessly.
“Hmm…It's someone you know and is very close to you.” She said,
Evans paused and tilted his head in deep thought, then he suddenly raised his head and looked at her in shock which made Megan’s heart pound faster. Her hands which were on her sides secretly clenched and her body became tense.
“You— You’re in love with Leo?!” He cried out in shock.
“Darn it! I never expected this!” Evans looked at Megan, still in shock.
Meanwhile, Megan looked back at him with the same shock on her face, she felt like she had wasted her tension and hope. How could she have hoped that this dense person would understand her feelings?
She gritted her teeth with red eyes, then threw the book in her hand at him, “Scram!” she gritted her teeth and glared at him, “What nonsense are you talking about?!” She asked, then rolled her eyes.
Evans, who realised he had made a mistake, could only laugh embarrassingly.
Both of them continued arranging in silence.
“So…Since you’ve decided to move on from that man, what do you plan to do?” Megan suddenly asked.
Evans paused, then chuckled, “Who told you I gave up?” he asked in a gentle voice.
Megan’s hand froze, her eyes flashed with coldness and she turned to look at him, “What do you mean?”
Evans stopped, then focused fully on her.
“Do you think the weeks I spent with him were for nought?” He asked, then sneered and stood up.
He raised his hand and looked at the mark on his arm in a daze, “I left because I’m not one to play childish acts with Jesse and I have no time to play the stupid game of “I don't know what I want” with Nathan, so…” He paused then put his hands in his pocket and shifted his focus to Megan.
“The best option is to leave him and make him understand I’m much better than that manipulative Boyfriend of his.” He said with a smirk.
Megan was stunned, she looked at Evans and felt rage inside her but she just couldn't erupt.
Just why?! She had thought he had finally come back to his senses and let go of his obsession but it has gotten even crazier, as it seems Evans was now ready to fight for what he wanted.
Megan bowed her head to cover the pain and ruthlessness in her eyes.
She chuckled, “Do you think he would still remember you after you leave? Don't be delusional, Jesse is back and you will be forgotten!” Megan raised her voice at the end of her words as she couldn't contain it anymore but who knew Evans wouldn't care about that.
He looked at her dazed for some seconds, then laughed gently.
“Don't be angry.” He patted her hand gently which made her stiffen. She looked at Evans and felt like she couldn't understand him anymore.
Evans zipped up his well-arranged bag, then turned to look at his friend with a confident look.
“Is that what you think? Then you don't know me well, Megan.” He smirked.
“He won’t last long before he comes to find me. And this time…” He placed his hand in his pockets and spat out indifferently,
“He should be the one doing the pursuing. Nathan can only be mine...”
