Family Heirloom
Jesse was cornered by Nathan, his heart raced crazily but he still didn't know what to respond with.

He had never been yelled at like this as everyone had always feared igniting his sickness. Even when his father would sometimes lose control, he would still tone it down and there was his mother whom his father loves to put him in check.

Then there is Nathan who had always pampered him and spoiled him rotten. He didn't know how things had changed in just months. He bit his lips and the tears came without even forcing it.

He felt terrified of Nathan. Though this was not his first time seeing him rage, it was the first time it was directed at him. 

“Nathan…Please, will you calm down?” His body trembled, “You’re scaring me..”He whispered like he was scared of upsetting him more.

Nathan’s lips curled up mockingly, “Is that all you got to say?” He asked, then pressed on. Suddenly he held his jaw and squeezed it tightly as he glared at Jesse with eyes so ruthless that they could kill.

He was so overwhelmed by his pain and anger that he couldn't care less about the tears running down the face of the man he loved.

At the thought that there might be something going on between his man and his manager, he wanted to kill someone.

“When I ask a question, I want you to respond straightforwardly.” He growled, tightened his fist on the jaw.

“Nat—Nathan! Please…nothing! How could I cheat on you? We’re engaged!” Jesse managed to cry out even though he was in pain.

“Engaged?! You remember you’re engaged?! Leaving the country with a man and not telling your fiancé or your family and you dare tell me we're both engaged?! Engaged my foot!” Nathan heaved angrily after his yells. 

He then brought Jesse’s face closer to himself, held Jesse's left hand with his free hand and suddenly raised it to their faces, “Where the hell is the ring I fucking put on this finger?! The ring that is meant to join us both, where the fuck is it, Jesse?!” 

Jesse looked at his fingers in shock. His heart pounded and he knew he was dead meat.

How could he forget? How could he forget about something so important?! 

Darn it! 

He had sold it while he was stranded in a foreign country, but how would he dare tell Nathan this? Especially when he was this angry.

Besides, Nathan didn't expect him to starve when he had a useful item with him which he could sell, right? 

“I—” He choked, then grimaced after he felt the pain in his jaw, “I lost it. I'm sorry I didn't take care of it. You can punish me for that as it's my fault but can you stop accusing me of cheating…? It's painful.” Jesse cried painfully.

Nathan had frozen when he was told the ring he had used to profess his love for Jesse had gotten lost. His brain almost exploded, and his eyes turned red immediately.

“Lost..? You lost the ring?!” Nathan roared.

Jesse looked at Nathan in confusion, he couldn't understand why he was this angry for something as ordinary as a ring. If one lost, they could always buy another one. Besides, Nathan was loaded with money. 

Nathan became speechless as he looked at the confused expression on Jesse. His throat was blocked and his eyes turned red from holding back so much anger. 

His hand which held Jesse’s jaw relaxed and fell to his side. He closed his eyes tightly.

He was at fault here. He should have told him the value and meaning of that ring. He should have…

“Get out…” 

Jesse was stunned after he heard the command. He stood dumbstruck as he just kept staring at Nathan who had turned his back on him. 

“But—”  Jesse paused, then swallowed hard, he lowered his head and clenched his fist tight, then with a voice that contained hurt and disbelief, he said, “Nath, you’ve changed. Things weren't like this before. You wouldn't treat me this way.” 

He suddenly furrowed his brows and the words of his father popped into his head which made his heart skip a beat, but even if he didn't believe it, he still asked, “Are you seeing someone aside from me, Nath? Answer me!” 

Nathan stiffened, the fire he was holding back from exploding ignited and exploded. He turned around and suddenly raised his hand to punch the wall behind the head of Jesse.

“Shut up!!” 

He suddenly turned and that was when Jesse saw his bloodshot eyes. 

“Nath..? What’s going on?” 

Nathan looked at the man he loved so much and couldn't help but feel so angry. 

“What do you think that ring I gave you is?!” He growled while pointing at Jesse. Then without waiting for a response, he chuckled darkly…

“… That ring is a family heirloom!!”

Jesse froze in shock, his mind went into a daze.

“Fa-Family heirloom?” He stammered, “Why would you give me something as precious as that?! And why the hell didn't you tell me?! Just why?!” Jesse suddenly asked loudly. 

He felt confused. Why would Nathan use a family heirloom as a proposal ring?! And he didn't fucking tell him! 

“Because I love you! And that ring is meant for a proposal! That is what it is for! And the reason I didn't tell you? I didn't want to put pressure on you.”  Nathan responded coldly and angrily.

Jesse paused, his mouth parted to say something but he knew anything he said at the moment would be against him. 

As he looked at Nathan, his eyes suddenly shifted, then he began breathing fast, he bit his lips hard, drawing blood, then his face turned pale white.

“Urggghh…”He groaned, then gasped in pain. 

Nathan was stunned at first, his body stiffened and all his anger vanished from his heart. 

“Jesse?! Jesse!” He called out and rushed toward him. “What the hell is going on with you?!” He asked, then carried him and placed him on his leg. 

“His fingers trembled as he patted Jesse’s face. He suddenly paused, then his face turned pale.

“Darn it!” He cussed loudly, “Is it your heart again?!”
