Chapter Two Hundred and Forty-Two

Chapter Two Hundred and Forty-Two
Jayce

Rose and I have sneaked away from everyone to go outside. We need a moment. The day has been incredible, but it has been constant. I take my new wife’s hand in mine, leading us to a bench to sit. I set my tuxedo jacket down, not wanting her beautiful dress to get dirty. I have never been in awe of Rose more than the moment I saw her in it.

“Your jacket will get dirty.”

“It is fine. It will wash out better on that than your white dress, Mrs Blakely.” I beam.

Rose giggles at me calling her that. I call her that whenever I get the chance. She takes a seat, and I take the spot next to her. Rose rests her head on my chest.

“I can’t believe we are now husband and wife.” She gushes.

“I know.” I smile.

It will take some time to adjust to my new title as husband, but I have never had a title I am prouder of.

“I am sad the day is nearly over. It has been perfect.”

“I know, it has passed so quickly. I wish the day slowed down a little. Don’t worry, we can do it again in twenty years.” I smile, slipping my arm around her and kissing the top of her head.

Silence comes between us, a comfortable one. We enjoy the quiet and the fresh air. It is warm inside.

“I think ten years and then maybe twenty.” She giggles.

“Whatever you want, my beautiful wife.”

Rose glances up at me, a bright smile on her face. “I will never tire of hearing that, my handsome husband.” She says and covers her lips with mine.

I place my hand on my cheek, kissing back. “Mmm, I can’t wait to make love to you for the first time as husband and wife when we return to the honeymoon suite.”
Rose moans into my lips. “Me too.”

We would be leaving soon. There isn’t much of the night left. It will be a special night. When we part from the kiss, Rose places her head on my shoulder again.

“Tell me, angel, are you ready for what has to come next? Are you ready to grow old together?”

“I am ready for it all. I couldn’t imagine growing old with anyone else, Jayce. You have become my entire world, and without you, I don’t know what I would do.” The tears brim in her eyes.

I wipe them away. “Me neither. You are all I need. Everything else can disappear, Rose. As long as I have you, I know everything is going to be okay.” I smile.

I never thought I would be a husband, let alone with someone as incredible as Rose. I still ask myself sometimes what I ever did to deserve her. I have not been the perfect person, yet, somehow, fate decided to give me someone like Rose. I will never understand why, but I wouldn’t change it. Rose is everything I need and has made me a better version of myself.

“You are going to make me cry again.”

I chuckle. “Sorry.” I have made him cry a lot today. I don’t mean to, but I have been wearing my heart and emotions on my sleeve all day and night.

Rose playfully rolls her eyes at me, laughing. “It is okay. I don’t mind. I haven’t been the only one crying today.”

“I don’t know what you mean. I don’t cry.” I tease.

That is a lie. I have cried more today than I have in my entire life. I am not ashamed of it.

“Sure, you don’t, my love.” She giggles and prods my nose.

I laugh loudly and steal another kiss. It lasts only a moment. “I love that I get to kiss you for the rest of my life.”

“You get to do many things to me for the rest of your.” She smirks.

“Oh, that I do.”

Now that we are married, some things will change. I will be her husband first, above all else. It doesn’t mean we still won’t have the same dominant/submissive dynamic because we will, but it will just be done differently now.

“I am ready for all that has to come, my love.” She smiles, pecking my lips.

We go back to silence, sharing the moment. A perfect moment under a star-filled sky with the moon shining down on it. I close my eyes and breathe in the air. I am a married man now! How amazing is that? I not only married the love of my life, but my best friend and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We don’t know what comes next for us, but whatever it is, it will be another incredible chapter. It may not be easy, but like we always do, we will get through it all, good and bad, because we are stronger together. We have always been stronger together, even if there were a few fleeting moments throughout our love story that we thought it wouldn’t work or we wouldn’t make it. I am glad none of us gave up because all of it that makes us, well, us.
