Panic

Hana stared out the window of her room on the island of a thousand doors. They weren't living in an apartment, but in a villa for the time being.

"How long are we going to be like this, Giselle?"

"Until Franz gets back here and makes sure everything is safe, Hana."

"I doubt it, Giselle. But would Franz divorce Karina that quickly? I know Franz has changed, but what if he sees Karina again and he's not consistent with his decision?" Hana still doubted Franz's love ever since he lost his memory and even now.

"You still doubt Franz? Franz is not a man who breaks his promises easily, Hana. I look around, he's still the same old Franz. You take it easy, time will tell. Has he called you yet?" Hana shakes her head weakly as she presses her lips together. She was just worried about Franz betraying her again.

"Never mind, don't think about it too much. Let's have lunch now, shall we? Daniel must be hungry too,"

"Alright, Giselle."

They set the food on a table in front of the television. Hana turned on the television, and Giselle prepared the food one by one from the kitchen.

"Viewers, CEO Ronald's wife Jennifer was caught cheating in her own home, her husband, CEO Ronald, accidentally caught Jennifer sleeping in their room naked. CEo Ronald's position turned out to be out of town at that time and accidentally returned suddenly without telling his wife. Unexpectedly, it turned out that the wife took actions that were beyond her prediction. Now their relationship has ended up in court for divorce."

Hearing the news on television left Hana and Giselle shocked. Their mouths dropped open.

"Oh my, is that Ronald your ex-husband, right Han? The one they mocked you for when you were handicapped after the accident?" Giselle asked. Hana smiled lightly.

"Well, that's what happens when you're insulted. And at that time he also asked to come back to me, which was strange. But obviously I didn't want to. What kind of woman am I?" Giselle was a little surprised to hear that.

"He asked for a return? That Ronald has no face anymore. How could he still expect you, Hana?"

"Well, maybe it's because he knows about Jennifer's affair. I don't understand either. Huh... but now I'm calm because at least we're away from that island and temporarily living on this island," Hana explained.

"Yeah, but what about when we're back on the island and she still asks you to come back, Han?"

"There's Franz. He'll definitely protect me from Ronald. Ronald used to hurt me by cheating on me, but now he's being cheated on by Jennifer, isn't that God's just reward for Ronald? But if he hasn't come to his senses yet, then he's gone too far," Hana explained.

"Right, anyway why does he still expect you, when he also threw you away, right Han?"

"Yes, therefore I will not repeat the same mistake." Hana replied. Suddenly Hana's cell phone rang.

"Who's Han? Is it Franz? Pick up!" Giselle ordered. Hana nodded...

*In a Phone Call...

"Hello, Franz, what's up?"

"I managed to get Karina to sign the divorce papers I gave her, Hana. From now on, you are my only wife." Franz was now on his way to his old home in the city. The house he had lived in with his mother.

"Really? Wasn't she angry after you gave her the divorce papers, Franz?"

"Sure, she didn't accept it at first, but I don't want to live with a manipulative girl like her anymore."

"Alright, then what's your next plan Franz?"

"I want to make my mom change for the better, if she can't, then I'll leave her,"

"All the best, Franz. I can only pray for you from a distance."

"Yes, dear Hana. I'll try. I'm hanging up, bye."

"By, Franz." Hana hung up the phone immediately.

Karina returned to her home in the city after being divorced by Franz. She returned home exhausted and weak.

"I'm home..." Just opening the door, at the same time Karina saw her father talking to Charie who was still afraid of the accident that Franz and Hana had experienced at that time.

"Never mind, it's all in the past anyway. Franz and Hana won't investigate this case because they won't have enough evidence to report us to jail."

Karina was naturally surprised to hear that.

"Wha...what? So the cause of the accident was Dad and Charlie all along? No wonder Franz blamed me for this and thought I was the culprit." Karina felt disappointed of course after learning that her father was behind the accident. She quickly walked over to where her father and Charlie were sitting now.

"Oh... so you caused Franz and Hana's accident?" Mr. Brian who heard his daughter's voice immediately raised his head.

"Karina... it's not what you think, son..." Mr. Brian coaxed. 

"You know, Franz blamed me for his accident with Hana! And to make matters worse, Franz divorced me, Father! Didn't you think of that too, huh? You're selfish!"

"What? Franz divorced you?" Karina nodded.

"He also threatened me that if I didn't sign the divorce papers immediately, he'd report me to the police and make me rot in jail forever, Father... hiks..." suddenly, Karina's tears fell down her cheeks. She had really been hurt by Franz's words which cut her to the core. She felt that she could no longer bear it all.

"And this is the reason why I came home today. Because in the village I have no hope of maintaining my marriage with Franz... why are you doing this? If Franz finds out, I'll go to jail, and so will you, Charlie!" Karina said, glancing at Charlie who was still sitting there wordlessly.

"No... Mr. Brian, don't let Franz find out everything! I don't want to go to jail! My career as a basketball superstar could be jeopardized. Please give me a solution to this problem, Mr. Brian..." Charlie begged.

"I'm confused too, Charlie, Karina." The atmosphere was both somber and calm at the same time.
