31. Double Trouble.

[Ace]

"Fucking bastards," Manny yelled as he kicked us out of his bar. "Starting bar fights." He yelled again as he shoved our jackets on us.

"You're in bad shape." Caleb chuckled as he looked at me but I wasn't smiling.

My mind was elsewhere, I'd gotten so angry after I'd heard that guy talk about Emily like that and I'd acted irrationally, I'd almost killed him and I'd messed up.

I'd allowed my emotions to cloud my judgment, I could have gotten more information from him but I blew it.

"Get up," I said as I dragged my beat up body up.

"Why did you do that anyway?" He asked as he got up, cleaning blood from his temple.

"They were talking shit," I answered simply. "And they're from a rival gang," I added when my first answer didn't seem to convince him.

"Right." He didn't seem too convinced but he let it go. "You're driving." He said and I groaned.

"Bro, I think my ribs are busted," I told him. He'd joined me in the fight but I'd spent time saving him and taking punches meant for him.

He'd gotten away with just a small cut on his temple from splattered shards of glass but I'd taken the major hits.

"Your problem." He laughed and got into the passenger's seat.

"Fuck you."

Even with my aching body, I drove us home in one piece, my left eye was nearly closing from the swelling, my ribs were aching badly and I didn't need a doctor to tell me that my side was bruised, my nose was bleeding and the corner of my lips were too.

We tried to sneak into the house because I didn't want our parents seeing us in this shape, they would make a big deal out of this and my father might want to involve the police, something I definitely didn't want happening.

We heard noises coming from the kitchen as we headed up the stairs, we heard grunting and the sound of broken plates and cups.

"Ugh, faster, harder." We were about to go and investigate when we heard our mother moan.

"Ew, ew, oh, fuck, what the hell." We muttered irritatedly and quickly left for our rooms.

I guess they had reconciled and sorted out their differences, from what we just heard, it seemed like they were still going to be husband and wife.

[Emily]

"Wow, it's pretty late and your mom isn't back yet." Jenny noticed as we lay together in my bed.

"Yeah, she did say she would be back late but I didn't think this late," I said and then turned to Jenny. "Do you have to leave?" I asked her.

"No, I can just text my parents." She said and I smiled.

I envied her, my parents would freak out and I probably would be grounded for like forever if I ever tried that.

"So, you want to tell me about Mr.Ivan?" I asked Jenny and she chuckled.

"You want to tell me about Ace?" She asked and I turned away from her, blushing as I remembered our last encounter.

[Flashback]

"That's a dangerous question to be asking, sweetheart." Ace said and I instinctively gulped and moved backward but he was faster than I was and he caught me and pulled me closer to him.

"W-what are you d-doing?" I stammered out, I couldn't form a coherent sentence being so close to him.

"You asked me a question, don't you want to know the answer?" He asked me.

"I-I, n-no, I'm o-okay." My voice broke as I tried to speak.

"What is it that you want, Em?" He loosened his grip around and he let me go, his eyes never leaving mine.

I was conflicted, on one hand, I wanted him to kiss me and maybe do a lot more but on the other hand, I didn't trust him and I didn't want to be another trophy on his shelf.

"You know what, I think I'll answer for you, you want me to kiss you, you want me to press you against the wall and make you feel like you've never felt before."

"No." I let out angrily, of course, that was all he thought about.

"No." He raised a brow. "I'll do all of that and more if you let me, Em, and one day you will and when that day comes, I'll give you so much pleasure you will not want any other man."

His words frightened and excited me at the same time, they sent vibrations down my body and I could swear that I felt my lady parts tingling, such a strange sensation but good.

"I'm just a nerd, a junior, why would you want me?" I summoned the courage to ask the question in my mind.

"Precisely because of that." He said and before I could ask him what he meant, he touched his lips to mine.

It was a brief kiss, nothing like the one we'd shared when Emilia, I immediately missed the contact the minute he pulled away from me.

"Someone is here, keep quiet." He shushed me and walked away from me.

I was about to tell him that Jenny was coming over after school but he shushed me and pushed me to a dark corner then he began what I'd call an inspection of sorts.

[Flashback ends]

"Emily, Emily." Jenny's voice and the ringing of the house phone pulled me out of my flashback before I was finished daydreaming.

"What?" I asked her.

"Where have you been, the phone's been ringing for a while now." She said and I sat up in bed.

"Maybe it's my mom," I said.

"Why didn't she call your phone?" She asked.

"Because I'm not supposed to have it, my father took it but fortunately I swiped it back.'' I told her and she chuckled.

"You're becoming something of a bad girl these days, I think Ace is really rubbing off you." She laughed and I froze momentarily before I continued walking.

She was right, Ace was sin and he led me to do sinful things.

"Hello," I spoke softly into the phone.

"Yes, this is she." I replied when the caller asked for me."

"What?" I screamed so loudly Jenny rushed down the stairs.

"What's happened?" She asked me as I stood with the phone to my ear, tears pouring down my face.

"My mother was attacked on her way home, she's currently in the ER."
