Chapter 69

I woke up with a start, having difficulty in breathing as I stared towards my open window like I was expecting for something to pop out from the curtains side.

The slow breeze coming from the window sent chills running down my spine as I had a tight grip of the bedspread with both hands.

My eyes went round the room like flash lights, scanning the whole place and ensuring that I'm safe just on my bed.

The room's temperature felt unnecessarily lower than it should  be during summer break, the curtains blew open and the sun ray made my face glowed.

I ran out off bed and stood beside my door shivering in fear of the unknown, placing my both hands together under my chin as I waited to expect the worst from what I wasn't sure would come.

Nothing seems right this morning, my dreams weren't clear enough but I could tell that that it was a nightmare.

Everything in the room seem to be in place aside from my wandering mind and racing which seemed to be threatening to explode soon.

'Nothing, I can't remember anything....how,why?' I tried my best on racking my head for an answer.

My hands shook while the rest of my body stayed in place at a spot like I was fixed on that spot and about to grow root also.

"What....why are you like that honey?" I heard Derek's voice, which came sounding teasingly and offensive too.

I swiftly turned around immediately to find the door still closed, my eyes widened and sweat suddenly broke out on my face.

I shut my eyes tight with my teeth tight too which made the muscles around my mouth danced, almost in a gnash and gently banged my left hand on my forehead, remembering that we're mind linked.

"What,....do you think you would be incharge forever, like you would have control for too long?" his voice asked again, and louder this time.

The tension in the room increased and the temperature grew hotter by seconds too.

'Don't you dare Derek, don't you dare!' I yelled back at him in my head hoping he goes away soon for me to think well.

"Why,hmmm... because I've put you in place where you won't be able to control anything again" he assured cynically.

I felt a little torture as my body jolted from the inside and I immediately took a grip of my head so I won't fall to the ground.

Derek's voice continued chuckling softly and wickedly as I could imagine the usual grin he has each time he wins in making me angry, now appearing on his face.

I thought of blasting him with the out rage of my furry but stopped on hearing his tone of voice changed.

"You don't have to think about that dear, what happens to me will be same for you if you carry that in your mind for too long" he mentioned with tone of music and inhaled audibly.

The nut in my stomach tightened and I could feel my chest develop a lump which seems to be growing lager by each passing second or even a split second.

I knew what he meant and decided to deal with him  a different way instead, but first I'll need to know what's wrong with me.

"That's all right, no problem with that Alpha Derek....I will get to that soon" I whispered coldly, still feeling his presence in my head and he chuckled softly again.

The door went slamming behind me as soon as I got out of the room, in rage and in a confused state.

I stood still, transfixed.
Staring at the last door by the walkway which I have never seen opened before, leading to Derek's office.

"I'm coming Derek, hold on" I meditated as I furiously walked through the corridor with my hands swinging from side to side and my dress made shifty-chaff sounds.

The atmosphere was cool again and I felt relieved of the my agitation, no one was out working or walking by just like it use to be since they all have errands to run for Derek.

The wind swiftly rushed around me, bringing along some dried leafs that had laid lifelessly with it as they hurry around me and trying to pull me upwards like it was going to take me away soon.

The tree was moving in different directions where ever the wind would take it, it went, vigorously.

I struggled with the force of which it was rushing around with, my both hands before my face in a backwards pattern that revealed my palms.

"What's happening?....gosh!" I yelled in frustration at the leafs with what seems to be like my last strength at the moment, shaking my hands in order for them to go away.

My legs were leaving the ground gradually and my stomach suddenly felt light, I was about to through up when everything went blank and no sound was made again.

I opened my eyes again slowly, void of strength as I rolled to the left before dragging myself out of bed.

My head hurt and my hand was soiled with mud and little particles of iron, I widened  my eyes on seeing it....I feel exhausted too.

Everything possible as a thought ran through my head in a split second, trying my best to figure out what had happened.

"Rowena!....no no no no!" I voiced out one of my million thought as I sat on bed fidgeting, my eyes wandered around the room in search of a clue of how to stop what was coming for me.

'Is she using my body again, someone new....but nothing, nothing happened ' I thought breathing heavily as my teeth gnashed in great terror.

"Rex.....sage, how do I get him now?" I asked rhetorically, looking from my window to closed door and then my shaking soiled hands.

I closed my eyes really tight and inhaled audibly, weakly sniffing the cool air around me as I fell back on my bed like a doll.

My body vibrated in shock while I dreaded the outcome of the stab Alice had done to me, I could feel my head getting hot and the rest of my body suddenly cold.

It's late in the night all of a sudden, I've only left home when it was still bright and sunny.

"Now, Alice...Alice needs to help me again" I said calmly, resounding the uncertainty in my words as I bit my lower lip on remembering how she got to the dungeon at first.

The breeze outside sent chills all over me as I shivered in cold, hugging myself to resist little of the cold which wasn't that possible without a sweater.

Minutes after later away from the chambers, I found myself on the same track which was revealed to me through Derek's mind.

I walked reluctantly due to my tiredness, dragging myself along towards Alice's new prison home which was dark and looks lonely too.

Alice was laying on the cold bare tied ground, looking almost lifeless

"Alice" I called, hoping to get her awaken in time.

She turned around to meet straight gaze with me with no expression written on her pale face.

The worst of what I was expecting is what I got, she looked like a pup suffering from malnutrition, her neck and face looked more line than I could have imagined.

"What are you doing here?" She asked dryly, sounding alittle bit hoarsely from a noticable soar throat.

"I'm trying to figure that out as why you are here too" I replied acidly, maintaining my gaze with her's.

"What are you doing here anyways?" I asked softly, feeling Pity for her predicament.

"Well, people do bad things sometimes, and I'm paying for mine" she stated in parable that seem to be clear to the two of us.

"Is that related to you being a werewolf and that you do magic....or because you know someone called Rowena?" I asked inquisitively, leaning forward to see her more clearly.

"What exactly are you her for?" She asked looking away in distress, holding the wall behind her to support herself to her feet.

"I think there's a traveller in me, I want to know who and how to get them out" I voiced worriedly, looking from my hands to her calm face.

"Or maybe you're just the problem" she uttered after few seconds of silently scanning me with her eyes.

"I think there's no one in you, the knife I stabbed you with not only cut the traveller but scarred you too so no new traveller can use you again " she said firmly but still tiredly.

"You just have a hidden part of yourself that you don't know about yet" she explained further as she sat, resting her back against the wall.

I took another detailed look at my muddy palms and then to her, questioningly.
