Chapter 68: Love is sick
My heart raced with joy to see Rex again and most especially, in one piece.
'You finally came back Rex, what took you so long?' I asked thoughtfully, not minding if Derek was ready to trespass by reading my thoughts again this time.
Rex said nothing, and I didn't get anything from his thought too....he was mute both from the inside and outside, but his dilating pupils and long line of desire written all over his eyes was still clear to me.
He didn't make an attempt to move his longing gaze from me but still stood in a position, looking static.
Derek took turns in staring at Rex and I, slowly and gradually, it seems to me that he was ready to take me with him but was waiting for the right time to strike.
Having Rex look at me in such manner was one of the most wonderful thing that could happen to me since Derek made me the new me, and this would have been the few glorious moments of my life.
But, right before our eyes, a smaller and slimmer moving figure stepped out from behind him with her head bow.
We all stood in silence, waiting for the miracle that was about to manifest and it did manifested....it was JANE!
'How on earth, where did he get.....Jane!?.....' I thought in confusion as my eyes ran a quick scan on her and then to Rex and on her again.
"Elena!" I recalled Jane's imagine and voice, calling out to me in one of my numerous visions that most of the time had something to do with either herself or Derek.
She appears more beautiful in reality than the last time I felt like I left home, to get here.
Her skin shone like caramel in the sun, and I couldn't help but think about brown sugar.
More visions about her flooded my head and I couldn't take in anymore than boiling in rage, but stood completely silent and peaceful.
My eyes wanders around Rex's face, searching for an answer or to give me an hundred and one reasons why he's with another.
There we all stood, exchanging gaze from one person to another but the most attention seems to be drawn to Jane who just stood there like Rex was her saviour.
I felt Derek's body getting relaxed alittle and I turned towards him to find his eyes staring daggers at his brother, who still had that permanent smile I'd always like.
Rex smile today seems to an offended me already without him saying anything.
My palms gently vibrated in anger and the rest of my body shivered from within, my lips tightened and jawline narrowed with tight muscles dancing.
I could feel the usual vein that made a vertical line on my forehead each time I get really jealous or become an angry, most of the times making me look like an angrybird.
Memories of Rex and I in his cottage came rushing back into my head as the rising waves would rush over and out of a stormy sea.
I had almost thought Jane wasn't too real until now, she is an hundred percent real as I am.....but this happening, seems more real to me than ever.
My heartbeat increased by ten of it's initial pumps that it felt like my chest shook at every blood pumb, and occured to me like I could hear my own heart beat.
Feeling suddenly weak, agitated but helpless, my head seemed to have calculated the whole scene already before it would proceed.
I had a gut feeling that everything was about to change around, either sooner or later, but things aren't clear right.....not to me and definitely not to anyone.
The last I hoped and waited for was for Rex to make a clear explanation of what was going on but he remained at a spot, not ready to make a move yet.
"What do you want you bastard?!" Derek yelled, charging towards Rex with his hands already placed forward before him as he got clos to shove him hard on the chest.
Derek, was all we know the most offended among us all, his reasons was clear because his business wasn't up yet with Rex.
His claws had already began to grow gradually as he panting furiously while his eyes must have pierced through Rex's skin due to the intensity of his stare, no one was moved my his actions.
Rex must had briefed Jane for her to still remain in place even after seeing an Alpha that angry, her wandering eyes now on Derek and I.
Even if she was I my assumed position, her eyes shone with jealousy and hatred, she had always has a dark pretty eyes that made her most evil atimes.
"Nothing much" Rex finally spoke up, turned to meet gaze with his accompany and then smiled more brightly before looking at us again.
"I just found someone, a mate, and she's ready good for sex" he mentioned, bending his lips in a downwards smile and then turned to me to flash me a wicked smile.
My heart shook at his last words, and was sank down to my stomach while hard lumps suddenly grew within my throat and I swallowed hard, hard enough to be heard.
The sun seem to be shining on me alone and it was as well burning me slowly without pity, I desperately needed an explanation which was obvious through my ocean eyes.
I stared blankly at Rex and his time and he took Jane's hand and walked few steps toward us and paused.
"It's different for plain human" he uttered and raised his eyebrows while looking at Derek, like he was going to say goodbye or something.
"LUNA" he scoffed and walked with Jane by his side, she seems more glue to him than a lid to a tightly closed jaw.
My whole body vibrated from the inside and my first tightened slowly but firmly, I breathe shakingly from my mouth and nose.
I strongly held my palms together on my thighs and tried my possible best to cool my anger off before it gets the best of me.
"What a sick love" I heard Derek's thought and turned my gaze towards him, ready to send him flying across the garden.
"Ah, ah, ah.... don't even think about it, you cause the same amount of pain to yourself if you do so to me" he reminded and smirked, feeling incharge and probably important.
"That's a lovely reminder before you throw your ancient tantrum" he chuckled softly and walked closer to kiss me my face.
"Rex...."I softly voiced out in self pity, noticing Derek's face, smiling mischievously.
