Chapter 64 Sixty four
Chapter 64 Sixty four
“Of course I do, they are much more than us.” He smiled softly, glancing back at me once more, silently telling me that he didn’t mind if he passed now, he had lived a long life and now he was tired. I could see it in his eyes, he didn’t have a reason to fight any long, he knew Silas would come for me; he knew he would save me.
“Pathetic.” Elizabeth growled, “My own brother a sympathiser.”
She snapped her fingers again and her men dragged him to his feet, forcing him to remain still, though not that he attempted to move.
She smiled as she walked forward, pulling a dagger from her small waist band, carefully toying with him from a safe distance. I attempted to push the vampires away from me, I tried my best to break free, but it was no use, they were too strong. I screamed out, in my head and aloud, causing Elizabeth to take a step back as I sent it barrelling towards her mind; shock registering on her face for a split second.
When she spoke, her eyes were crimson. “Don’t worry daughter of Berus, I will make it swift, he will barely feel the diamond enter his skin.”
I gasped, diamond that was the one material that could permanently kill them, yes everyone had always thought it was silver, but that simply wasn’t true, diamond was deadly to them, it made them weak enough to kill.
It made them vulnerable.
Some of her men turned their heads, not wishing to see the pain on their former allies face.
Elizabeth prowled in front of Vincent like a lioness in front of its prey, ready to make the killing blow, she moved and grabbed his head, tugging his hair back and hissed in a low voice;
“So long, dear brother."
I fought against those who held me down, my entire form thrashing in desperation, I had to save him, I had to help the only person in this whole country who risked his life to try and take me home.
I stopped suddenly, my entire body becoming still, as though something was preventing me from aiding him in any way I could; though that wasn’t the case. The power within me snapped, forcing its way to the surface before I could comprehend what was happening; my body like lava to touch causing the vampires who held me down to pull back in shock and fear. It all happened within a split second, it was as though sunlight had shot across the sky in the dead of night; throwing the two vampires back into nearby trees as they screamed in anguish; their bones snapping along with the branches as the others attempted to put out the flames.
Fire as dangerous and as unpredictable as the actual sun seeped from my body and I slowly used the strength from it to stand, slowly stepping forward as Elizabeth prepared to plunge the blade into Vincents chest; my heart thumping in apprehension and fear. Would I be able to I stop her on time?
Could I do it without injuring my friend?
I reached out with my left hand, following the instruction of the immense power within me as I shot the lava-like liquid from it and sent it directly at Elizabeth, both her hand and the blade melting; the bones now visible where skin used to be and the diamond attaching to her skinless hand.
Just as I was about to lower my hand Elizabeth growled and squealed in anger and pain, smashing her hand into Vincent’s stomach as he gasped, the diamond that had melded to her bone causing him vast amounts of pain. She retracted her hand just as fast, my friend collapsing into the ground as blood oozed from the gaping hole in his lower abdomen.
The female Phantomhive turned towards me with a vicious smile plastered across her lips, her tone dark; “Did you really think that would stop me? Berus seize her!”
Berus moved to grab me, succeeding in violently taking a hold of my bicep, though when he attempted to reel me in there was a light rustling in the bushes before a blur came crashing through, scooping me up and the only other sound was the elbow of the necromancer breaking. I looked up in panic ready to use my ability when I saw Silas smiling down at me, his fiery eyes looking over me to make sure that I wasn’t injured as my father withered on the floor, cradling his broken arm.
“Fraulien, are you hurt?” Quizzed Silas, there was a hint of panic in his voice.
“No master, but Vincent is.” I whispered, pointing towards the man who had aided me in escaping the Phantomhive underground home.
Silas turned his head towards where Vincent lay unmoving on the ground, his features darkening when he finally laid eyes on Elizabeth; knowing she would be weakened as the diamond melded with her bones.
I stumbled slightly when he gently placed me onto the ground beside him, but managed to catch myself as he looked around; the other vampires who had accompanied the female Phantomhive having all but scattered. Leaving only a few that dare take on the prince for their Lady, even as they knew it would be certain death for anyone who had the sheer stupidity to stand against The Prince.
“Go heal him, I will deal with the traitors.” Growled my master, his stance immediately changing into aggression.
I nodded, knowing that it was better to remain mute as I followed his command, slowly walking towards the only other vampire I had ever met that took a risk for me. Yet, before I could reach him, Elizabeth blocked my path; her eyes once again the shade of amber.
“I don’t think so little witch.” She snarled, viciously striking me across the face with enough force to knock me into the muddied ground.
Fuck, will she ever stop?
Doesn't she realise it's all over for her?
