Chapter 63 Sixty three
Chapter 63 Sixty three
The prince responded almost instantly, as if he was waiting for me to break the silence. “Fraulien, are you close? Where is Vincent?”
“I don’t know where we are, its so dark, but we aren’t alone and I’m afraid. What if we don’t make it?” I replied, unable to hide my panic.
“You will make it, I can sense where you are, we are coming. Hold on Fraulien, I wont let them take you from me again.” He reassured me, but how could he sense me?
Did he really know where we are? I hoped that his words were true as I saw lights coming from deep within the woods, closing in on all sides, we were surrounded, that is what Vincent was worried about, we had no escape. If my master didn’t make it soon, we would be dead. I clung on tighter to the Phantomhive, praying that he would be able to protect us, I didn’t know if I could use my abilities, they had been bound for so long I could barely feel them.
What if I was unable to call upon them? Would Elizabeth kill me on the spot, or would she want me under her control? I didn’t know for sure, and that is what scared me the most. I didn’t know what to expect.
The lights drew closer as Vincent placed me back onto the muddied ground, knowing that he would have to fight, his sister wasn’t one for mercy; we both knew this.
I saw her first, she was to our right, surrounded by seven or eight guards; honestly it was hard to tell in the darkness, but any number of vampires accompanying her was trouble. After all, how many could my protector take out before he was overwhelmed? Before they took him down and I was left all alone. I prayed Silas wouldn’t be long, but I had no idea how far away he was, no inkling if he would make to me on time. I had to assume there was only me and Vincent.
Elizabeth smiled as though she knew something we didn’t, and to be honest; she more than likely did. Her eyes glowed against the darkness as she spoke; her voice sending shivers of horror down my spine. “Ah brother, there you are.” She said, almost entirely ignoring my existence.
“Elizabeth.” He responded blandly. “What are you doing here?”
She smirked, growling as she turned to look down at me. “I have come to retrieve my prisoner; I will need her in the coming weeks if we are the take down the prince.”
“She is our fathers' prisoner, not yours.” He argued, pushing me behind him.
I looked around quickly, noticing that the other vampires were blocking all possible ways to escape, there must be twenty, no thirty of them! How on earth could we possibly fight so many?
She tilted her head to the side, taking a step towards us as I cowered back; I didn’t want to go with her and I knew that if I did, I would never see my master again. “Then why have you taken her from our home?”
I saw the one person I was hoping would not have come, his evil eyes locked onto me and me alone, causing my heart to race and my fear to spike. It was my father, the man I hated above all others. Berus.
The warlock moved to stand beside the female Phantomhive, his tone giving away his lies. “If you give us the girl, you can come home master Vincent.”
I could see my protector beginning to panic, he wasn’t sure what to do; he wanted to help me, but would he give his life for me? Would he sacrifice everything for someone he barely knew?
“Father knows I have her, he wanted me to take her to our hideout in London until she was needed.” Said Vincent, but even I could see through his words and sense the panic.
“That’s funny, father said nothing about that as I killed him.” Laughed Elizabeth, her hand rising and falling as the vampires rushed us; pinning us both into the ground.
Vincent had no chance of stopping them now, they took him down within seconds, perhaps this vampire was as good of a fighter as I had originally thought. I panted for breath, the vampires who held me down making it extremely difficult to move as I coughed; my chest and airways restricted.
“What do you mean as you killed him?!” The Phantomhive male shouted in terror and grief, his eyes wide and tearful.
He clearly cared for his father, even for all of his flaws, though I was certain he had no such feelings towards his sister; he despised her as I did and I’m sure she felt the same.
She walked towards us, my eyes becoming heavy and tired as I could barely take a shallow breath. “I tore out his pathetic heart, just as I will yours. I am the head of the family now, and I will be taking the girl.”
“She is not yours to take, she belongs to the prince!” Exclaimed Vincent, his amber eyes alight with fury as he fought against those who held him down.
Even though I agreed with my protector I kept my mouth shut; knowing that should I utter one word at this time, our situation would only worsen. What was I supposed to do? How could we possibly escape now?
“I own her father, therefore she is mine and mine alone, if the prince wants her, he’ll have to come and get her himself.” Smiled the tyrant that could kill us with a flick of her wrist.
I smirked at her words, she had no idea that he was already on his way, that he was owning for me and I doubted that he would take a prisoner such as her. I reached out to my master as I closed my eyes, telling him we had been found and that he needed to hurry. If he didn’t, I wasn’t sure what would happen.
“Hang in there, stall them. I am on my way.” He responded almost instantly, his tone sending a wave of fear down my own spine, he couldn’t hide it from me, he was worried.
Vincent looked at me, seeing something in my face, he spoke in a way which was out of character for him.
“You think you can own someone? Especially by “owning” their parent? You are one of the problems with our race, I will be glad of the day the witches and warlocks rise up!”
He knew we had to bide our time, hold out until Silas could get there, we needed to find a way where we could both survive this; but we mustn’t let Elizabeth or her men catch on. If only I could use my power, if only it would come to me and I could use it against her. But because of their anklet, I couldn’t call upon it, yes; it wasn’t on now. Though it had be bound for so long, that I barely knew how to control it and I could not risk harming Vincent, not after all he had done for me.
“You think they should be free!” Elizabeth laughed, snapping her fingers as the vampires tightened their grip on my protector, and I knew this wasn’t good; we were running out of time.
