CHAPTER 79

He Is The Owner's Son!

The atmosphere in the changing room felt thick as Alexa and Jason looked at themselves rather fiercely, and Alexa wondered what his reaction was going to be.

"Ahhh ahhh!" Jason burst into laughter, and Alexa was confused at his reaction.

"What! You are laughing?" She asked not expecting that kind of reaction after telling him her secrets.

'Was he not supposed to be shocked? I mean I just told him my secret and the reason I could not date him' Alexa wondered, and she wanted the man to complete his laughing spree.

"You don't kick me as a comedian, Alexa, but I will give it to you, you really are a comedian," Jason says, and Alexa scoffs at his words.

'What? He thinks I was joking?' I did not believe the man was not taking me seriously.

"So you think I am kidding?" I asked, and Jason nodded his head telling me that was what he was thinking.

"I mean how could it be any truth..you are just trying to scare me, and make me think that, but are you not scared?" Jason asked, and I scoffed hearing his words.

"What? What did you mean scared? Should I be scared of telling you the truth," Alexa says, and Jason shakes his head.

"We both know that you are not telling me the truth, but are you not scared that I might really believe you and stay away?" He asked, and Alexa sighed.

'I never knew this boy was delusional' Alexa scoffs inwardly, and she decides to stop dallying with the man and go out to work.

"Since you don't believe me then I think I should be going to work," Alexa says, turning around to leave.

"Or are you serious?" Jason asked almost not believing his words, and he shook his head not believing that and he watched as the girl left the room.

There was no way Alexa could be married, that was his thought.

"Or is she serious?" Jason mumbled, and he fell into deep thoughts but he decided to step out and abandon his thoughts with the conclusion that Alexa was fumbling.

'She was only saying that to scare me' Jason thought.

The day went by quickly, and the sun was almost setting.

The manager already announced handing them their pay for the month and all the workers were enthusiastic about it.

"Everyone, good work for today," the manager said, changing the close sign and she walked towards her workers who were looking at her eagerly.

"Looks like some people are eager to see me," the manager joked, and they all chuckled and she started handing out their pay, but Alexa was not expecting hers because she just started working and even took some days off.

"And you too…Alexa," the manager says, and Alexa was surprised at her gesture.

"What! Me too?" She asked, and the woman nodded her head sharing a brief look at Jason.

"Yes, even though it's not much, but I hope you continue working hard," the manager implores and Alexa nods her head vowing to her that she is going to work harder.

"And here Jason, have your pay for the month…" the manager was saying, but a voice from behind cut her off.

"Who goes around giving the owner of a business pay…" Alexa heard a voice behind her, and she turned around to see who the voice belonged to and she was surprised to find an elderly man walking into the coffee shop.

"Welcome Grandpa, but as no more open can you.. " Alexa was saying, but her Manager's voice shut her up.

"President!" The woman said rushing towards the man, and the other staff was also polite, and Alexa felt confused wondering why she was clueless.

'Maybe he is the owner of the coffee shop' Alexa guessed and she decided to rectify her mistake.

"I am really sorry sir, I don't know you are the owner of this place," Alexa apologized bowing her head.

"No, it's fine I didn't expect you to know me when we haven't met before, but it looks like you are not a fan of the business news too," the old man said, and Alexa nodded her head.

'Business news? Why will I need that?' she thought.

"You all can go home now," the manager announced, and Alexa panicked seeing that the woman had not given Jason his pay but was dismissing them.

"But ma'am you have not given Jason his pay," Alexa says, and Jason tugged her arms hearing that.

"What are you doing? You don't have to do that, I can get it tomorrow," Jason whispered looking at the man and the old man also looked at the Manager for answers.

"You are really funny, Marissa, why are you giving Jason pay?" The man asked, and Alexa thought it was unfair and she wondered what Jason did wrong to not get paid.

"I am sorry sir…you might not have an idea, but Jason is really a hard worker and he is also diligent so I do not see the reason why he should…" Alexa was saying, but she noticed Elena was giving her a sign to stop running her mouth and she wondered what she did wrong now.

"Jason is a hard worker? Does Jason work here, Marissa? Like serving coffee?" The man asked, and the manager nodded her head slowly.

"Sir, can we please talk outside," Jason says, urging the old man to leave by giving him a complicated face, but the man was not moving an inch as he turned to Marissa for an explanation.

"What did I just hear Marissa? Jason is a hard worker. This Jason?" The man asked, pointing at Jason and he felt embarrassed at the gesture.

"Yes sir..but," the manager was saying, but Alexa spoke up seeing that they were all looking guilty and Jason's expression was even more off.

"Why are you asking sir? Should Jason have not worked in this place?" She asked.

"What! He is my son, and he owns this place so why does the owner have to serve coffee!" The man yelled, and Alexa turned to look at Jason who was smiling at her cheekily like he didn't just hear something shocking at her.

"What! You own this place?" Alexa exclaimed.
