"Shawn.. Shawn! SHAWN!" I heard Nate yell as I woke up quick.

"What?! What happened" I asked.

"Lia is awake from a short time but she hasn't stopped asking about you!" Nate said.

"Awake? You guys saw her?! Why didn't you wake me up" I said.

"The doctor warned us, I tried making some noise, but you didn't listen, anyways she's waiting for you" he said as I stood up and Nate surrounded his arms around me supporting me as we both walked out of the room.

As I took each step my heartbeat raced faster.

my legs felt numb, and I thanked god that Nate was helping me.

I stopped in front of the room.

"she knows" Nate said as I looked at him confusedly.

"she knows about the baby, but she just asked few questions, she's really worried about you, and I asked the nurse to bring the baby here" Nate said as I nodded.

Nate opened the door and I stepped inside.

Mom stood beside her as Liam rested on the couch.

as soon as I cleared my throat, she sat up and looked at me, I stared at her and for a moment I felt that I was alive.

"baby" I whispered with tears filling my eyes as I stared at her red eyes that had dark circles under them.

"Sh-Shawn.." She said before I ran to her and engulfed her into a hug that showed her how much I missed her.

We both cried, I released her from the hug and looked at her pale face, I wiped the tears and placed a kiss on her lips.

"I...we have a girl" she said.

"We do, she's tiny since she's been into early labor" I whispered.

"How do you feel?" I asked her.

"I'm sorry Shawn, the accident is my fault" she said.

"No Lia! It's not, the other driver was drunk, and I asked you how do you feel" I said.

"I don't know Shawn, I've so tired, I feel weak but at the same time seeing you is making everything better," she said.

"And how to you feel about having a baby girl?" Mom asked.

"I don't know how to feel about the baby, I'm scared but I'm also, I don't know, I just really hope she's in good condition, because I'm the one who caused everything" she said as she looked down.

"Lia, if I wasn't in an accident neither of this would've happened! So, stop blaming yourself because it's basically my faul—" I said But was stopped by a knock on the door.

"guess who's here?" The same nurse said.

"Oh, lets guess who's here? The worst nurse ever?" I said as she frowned while Nate kept laughing.

"the best you mean!" She said, "mother of the smallest baby we currently have in the hospital, Congratulations this is your baby girl".

I stood up and made space for Lia to see her baby.

Lia silently cried as she looked at her baby.

I paced through the room trying to not cry.

"can I hold her?" She asked as the nurse took her and placed her into Lia's arms.

"baby.." Lia said before she started to cry making everyone cry.

"I'm s..sorry baby" she said as I went beside her and placed a kiss on the top of her head.

"that's not the way you greet your baby Lia" Liam said wiping his eyes as everyone chucked.

"Look, baby girl, I told you! I told you your mom is going to be here soon," I said kissing her palm.

"hey princess, I'm your mother, I'm sorry for not being here the time you were born but now I'm here and I'm not leaving" she said as she rested her hand on my shoulder "your dad is here too, I promise you that we won't ever leave you, I'm always going to be by your side, I'll always protect you and take care of you, I love you so much" she said.

"but daddy love you more" I said sticking my tongue out.

"Karen I think you might need to live with them, they're still kids" Liam said to mom as they both laughed "I'll just keep her with you guys, but I'll come soon to take her back before she needs to have a vaccination".

We both nodded.

"Thankyou" Lia said.

"Don't thank her" I said.

"Shut up" She said as she got out of the room.

"what's happening between you both?" Lia asked.

"I don't like her" I said crossing my arms.

"the first time she cried, Shawn didn't know what to do, so the nurse just entered and took her and threw her into his arms and got out" Nate said as everyone laughed.

"It's the first time I ever hear her cry, and she's so tiny that I'm scared to hold her and Idk how to make her stop and she comes and throw her like this?" I said as Lia laughed.

"Baby" I whispered as she looked at me with concern.

"I missed you" I whispered.

Lia placed a kiss to my lips "I missed you too".

"So back to our thing, what are you guys going to name her?" Karen asked as she took the baby from Lia's hands.

Lia looked at me but shrugged.

"Skylar" I said.

"Skylar? Why?" Lia asked.

"we'll call her sky, but the reason is that the time she was born, it was night, but the sky was so bright," I said.

"Really?" Lia asked.

I nodded "it was different, so bright".

"then Skylar Melendez it is" Lia said as I kissed her cheek.
