Chapter 28

The rapid sounds from the machine woke all of us up.

"What is happening?" I said as I rubbed my eyes.

"Lia?" Nate said.

The door flew open, and the doctors got in with a couple of nurses.

"What's happening?!" I said.

"Doctor?" Liam said.

"Please I need you all to get out of this room! Now!" He yelled.

"Doctor What's happening?!!!" I yelled.

"Get out! Now! Get them out!" He yelled before a nurse took hold of me and helped me get out.

"What's happening!? Lia? What's happening to her?" I yelled.

"Please sir you need to rest! Sit down here" the nurse said.

"I’m not going to sit down till you tell me!" I said.

"You can't just fucking enter the room and get us out because something is happening to my daughter! Will you just fucking tell us!" Liam yelled.

"Liam calm down, please tell us, what happening to her?" Mom asked.

"her heart stop beating, the doctors are working on it" she said before she went back to the room and closed the door leaving us dumbfounded.

"What?" I whispered as I felt my heart clench tightly.

"What does she mean?" Nate said.

"She doesn't mean anything! Lia is going to be fucking fine! She will be!" Liam said before he sat on one of the chairs and tears flowed from his eyes.

Mom approached me before she hugged me and tried to comfort me.

"she will be okay Shawn, she will, I know it Shawn but please don't do this to yourself, look at Liam. He's suffering but he's trying to be strong for you and his sons. He even told me that, and I'm sure he's really scared of how you're feeling, and you just got Out of an accident so please calm down" she said as I tried to hold my tears.

I stood up and went to Liam "Liam" I said before Liam looked up to me and stood up, we both hugged each other and started crying.

"I don't know what to do Shawn! I really.. really don't" Liam cried on my shoulders.

"don't do this Liam, don't! I know Lia better than anyone and I know she won't leave, me and Lia still have a future together. She still didn't hold her first baby, her baby is waiting for her, I am waiting for her. I know Lia she's strong, she needs to be here for her family" I said as I released Liam and hugged Nate.

"Nothing.. nothing! Will happen to her" I whispered as Nate nodded.

The doors opened as I quickly ran to the door and was about to fall but Liam held me.

"How's she!" Nate asked "Is she alive!" Liam said "What happened? Is she okay?" I asked.

"don't worry guys, Amelia's heart stopped beating and we did our job, and congratulations, Amelia is awake" he said as I let a long sigh and took a deep breath.

"Thank god! Mom she's awake!" I said hugging mom.

"I told you!!!" I said as I hugged Liam and Nate together.

"Thank god," Liam whispered.

"Thank you so much doctor! When can I see her?" I asked.

"sorry young man, she'll need to rest, and you need to rest too, she's taking a sleep now, she did ask about you but later on after you both rest, everyone can see her" the doctor said as I nodded "the nurse will take you to your room, one stay with Amelia" he said as he looked at mom.

"thanks doctor we appreciate it" Liam said.

The nurse approached us.

"So, who's staying with Shawn?" He asked as I looked at both Liam and Karen.

"it's alright Liam, you're her father" mom said.

"But you're just like a mother to her" Liam said.

"How about I stay with Lia?" I smiled sheepishly.

"Shut up Melendez, Karen, you and dad stay with Amelia, I know both of you are worried, I'll stay with Shawn" Nate said.

"Boo! I reject!" I said.

"thanks enough Shawn" Liam said as I laughed.

"so, here's your wheelchair, sit down" the nurse said as I sat.

We said our goodbyes and headed to another room before getting comfy and sleeping on the bed.
