Chapter 29: What is done is done.

The seer walked into the chamber where the king sat on his throne. The king sensed the seer's appearance and adjusted to welcome the seer. The seer is the oldest man and most respected after the king; he has helped the pack with some troubles, and whatever he says is always taken with high priority.

"I left you to realize your mistake, but it seems your greediness has eaten you up; you defiled the kingdom; you brought dirt into the palace; yet you expect to sit on a clean throne without thorns.

"What needs to be done, seer?

"The deed has been done; it isn't an issue with the rogues anymore; the goddess isn't smiling down at you; you brought infidelity to the palace, and now it's spreading; the only way to cleanse all these is a sacrifice, and the girl you are hiding needs to be used to clean the land.

The king stood abruptly and said, "The girl, how? You want me to confess my crime to the world. How do you expect people to accept a stranger carrying a sacrifice for the pack? She is my past, and I will get rid of her. Please,  is there another way we can do this? Let's consult the goddess.

"The relic stays with no one, and until it's willing to be found, this is the only option we have. You brought this upon yourself; now deal with it". The seer said as he turned and left the chamber, his stick creaking as he left.

The king was left in deep thought; everything seems to be working out fine with his reconciliation with his queen, and now that he's expected to bring her out to cleanse the pack, why will he use dirt to clean dirt?

Being adamant, the king left his chamber to meet his queen. Seeing the Queen, he felt bad for doing such to her. He wondered if he should tell her his secret or keep it to himself. He turned abruptly and decided to take matters into his own hands and ask for help from other neighboring packs. The king knew the neighboring packs wouldn't accept to help, so he decided to send invites to other packs, unaware of their situation, and one of the packs happened to be Bluemoon Pac.

My marriage was a turnaround for a great father-son relationship; he recognizes me, involves me in kingdom affairs, and talks with me. I have never been this grateful for a decision of mine. My mother and Cassie seem to be going quite well together; she found a companion to talk to, and she seems more lively. Also, our pack has strengthened in business and unity thanks to our bond with the Greenery Pack.

I haven't spoken to Lucas since that incident, and he proved me wrong by ignoring me also. I had thought he would come begging. I miss him, but I'm not going back to him till he apologizes. My wedding day was a day full of nervousness and anxiety. I was afraid that Lola would appear and spoil the day, but seeing as I haven't seen her, she is either dead or hiding herself quite well.

Sitting over dinner with Cassie, she said something that made me feel guilty.

"I want a baby". I stopped my food and looked over to her. It's just three weeks into our wedding, and she is talking about a baby. My mind went to Lola, who came to me with a baby, and I groaned, What's it with women around me and babies?

"But, Cassie, we just got married; let's enjoy ourselves before a baby enters.

"No, Robin, can't you see that the earlier we birth an heir, the earlier I become a Luna, and your father gives the pack over to you? We have to think fast ahead of time and be swift about this. I don't want to be your wife only, Robin; I want to be the Luna of our pack."

Seeing Cassie in an ambitious state higher than mine makes me feel inferior. I know I wanted a strong wife, but Cassie looks like she isn't willing to enjoy life a little. Looking at her, I knew she was similar to my father, doing things for political sake. It makes me wonder if she led me to think I won her heart when she wanted to be with me for my position.

We were interrupted by one of the guards who came

"The Alpha requests your presence". I stood as I went to Casie, kissed her on the cheeks, and whispered to her ears "Then we should increase our pace and make babies soon". Cassie smiled with a smirk, and I knew she understood what I said as I followed the guard to meet my father.

My father still has an aura he carries around that makes you feel small in his presence. He noticed my arrival and shifted to face me.

"The alpha of the Mallapers pack seeks our help; you will be the representative for the meeting. The Mallapers are a big pack, and we need to expand our roots and be involved in business with them. It's your role to offer a solution to them. I'm sending you there because I believe you are capable enough to handle the pack's affairs since you will soon be the head of this pack. If you do this well, I will consider retiring early to make you lead the pack.

Finally, he thinks I am worthy of the position, and I did a little dance in my head. I once heard of the pack, and it's a big pack from what I have heard. This journey depends on me, and I must do everything within me to make it a success. I left as I went to tell Cassie about the new

"Well, it seems like we might have a better solution than early childbirth.". Cassie turned and looked at me as I spoke with confidence.

A certain pack needs our help, and if I'm able to help them, you are looking at the next alpha of the pack. Cassie squealed as she ran and hugged me. She stops, and as

"Am I going with you? We need to make it a success, and with me, it will be a fast one". I frowned at her suggestion. I can handle this on my own; I don't need her help. Cassie sensed my discomfort and spoke.

"I can't go days without you; besides, we are newlyweds and we need to be together. I didn't want to change the atmosphere, so I went along with him.

"It's just for a few days; don't worry, I will be back before you know it". I said this as I caressed her cheeks. She hugged me, and I patted her back. I'm going to show her what a capable man I am, and she will get to know my words.

We started packing as she helped with my clothing and necessities to go with the journey ahead of me. Mallapers pack is going to be resolved, all thanks to me. I'm sure they need me just for formality between two packs, nothing more.
