Chapter 48 A sweet moment
Tristan’s POV
“Tristan… is this you?”
I growled softly. She could hear my voice through the growl. The slight fear that first came up in her heart dissolved, and with a step and then another, she came closer to me.
“You're this wolf,” she said.
She sat on the floor, fully naked, and I rested my body on hers, feeling her warmth. Her hands touched my fur, slow and deliberate.
Even in the state as a wolf, it felt new but familiar to have her touch me. Was this feeling because she was naked?
But Zara had done this countless times, and the feeling had never yielded this much.
At the sweetness of this, Celine’s face shifted like I was doing her a favor by letting her touch my fur. Her fingers formed patterns, touched my head, and walked down to relax on my belly. And I made sure my fur brushed against her boobs.
I stepped back from her. The next minute, I returned to the form of a man.
“That was me,” I said.
She chuckled. “You already established that. Would I have my hands on a stranger?”
“No.”
“Okay?”
“But I would say that when someone new sees my wolf form, like I'm reciting a line—‘that was me.’”
She laughed.
This was too real I almost doubted.
She was being herself, which meant she trusted me. Even after these years with Zara, hearing that laugh from her was rare. Or maybe I never created room for it. But that also meant I was much more of an emotional person with Celine.
“But you should also know that I'm not always like that,” I said.
She had to know every bit of the detail. Getting to know ourselves.
She pouted her lips. “You're not always a white wolf?”
“I’m always a white wolf, but sometimes… just sometimes I might appear dark. Far from white. Just so you know.”
Our eyes were locked against each other.
Her interest was at a peak.
“Hmmm… explain why that's so.”
“You already know I'm cursed.”
A slight panic showed on her face, and her hand rubbed my thighs, closer to my length. “Yes, you told me. I’m so sorry that’s the case.”
“It's not a ‘might.’ That's me. I’m cursed.”
“Not that it's the end for you.”
She believed it wasn't my end?
“It can be.”
“Time won't let that happen.”
“You're that positive for me?”
“Tell me how it makes your beautiful white fur become dark?”
“It's simple—it shows its ugly head. You’ve seen it almost come up,” I explained. “At that point, everything about me changes. It’s like I'm on the verge of death, going crazy to escape it.”
Did I just explain it in such a manner?
I never explained the pain to Zara like “verge of death,” but I suddenly did with Celine.
“It feels like sharp knives going through your flesh?”
I furrowed my brows. “Like you’ve had an experience with it?”
“How would I have done that?”
“The level at which you're able to understand it… it's scary.” I let my gaze go all over her body with a slight suspicion that she might be a werewolf.
Of course she wasn't.
That fact couldn't have been hidden from me. I would have uncovered it the first second I set my eyes on her.
I always found it too vulnerable to tell anyone about the deep pain I feel. I'd be thought of as weak, and a weak Alpha’s fate was never a good one.
Anyone could use a perceived weakness against me.
“Let’s say I have empathy,” she said.
“You call it empathy?”
“You have another name for it?”
“I don't know if there's another.”
She drew closer as our feet dipped into the pool, and her fingers brushed through my hair. It was strange how she could sit naked beside me just talking.
She’d been naked before, but not in this situation.
I wouldn’t compare it.
“I’m concerned about you.” She dropped another bombshell.
“You're concerned.”
“Yes, I am.”
She was concerned.
“Then tell me what you're concerned about?”
“What other things could cure your curse?”
I waited for about a minute to pass, studying her expression before saying, “There’s no cure.”
“What… how do you survive?”
“For now, I’m just living.”
She shook her head multiple times. “You should do more than that.”
“How?”
“There’s so much you can do.”
It was crazy that I'd never thought about anything personal I could do. How was a crazy Alpha like me even expected to have such thoughts?
“Happiness is one of them,” she added.
“Happiness?”
“Yes, you should be happy.”
“Have you been happy?”
She didn’t speak, simply took her hands off my hair.
There was so much about her I needed to know.
“But Aiden told me of a way I could control it.”
Her face lit up. “Tell me.”
“He says it’s by having constant sex with you.”
Before I could say any other word to support my claim, her hands wrapped around my neck. The kisses followed. She gently pulled me into the pool with her.
Our clothes already taken off made it easier.
I pinned her to the side of the pool, while my semi-hard length grazed the entrance of her pussy.
“Let it in,” she said.
I went deep with one easy movement, and her moans were like music to my ears.
Intimacy in a pool. I’d barely done it with Zara. I didn’t really like it—the cold water on my skin when my whole body was drenched in heat. But with Celine, it was different. Everything was different with her.
Intimacy in the pool had more pleasure with her.
And she wasn't stiff all through. She lounged forward, matching my pace.
“Yes… Tristan… yes.”
Her pussy contracted around my length, squeezing my fluid out to fill her up.
“That was good,” she said after.
“It was better with you.”
“At least this should help.”
“I feel relieved.”
My breath had slowed down. I felt more control over myself, my thoughts clearer than minutes ago.
She picked up her dress, putting it on. “I love every moment of being with you. Fix another date for us to do this.”
“I will.”
“I have to go.” She walked a few steps, then turned back to look at me. “I also love the flowers.”
Her face had a glowing smile at me.
I thought she’d left, but she came back afterwards.
“What about the mate mark?” she asked, touching her neck. “Like a bite here?”
“I will, but later.”
She finally left.
I couldn't help but notice that she also had issues. But she hid them behind her smile. I should have known that Colt’s act of betrayal had an effect on her. But this was more than Colt’s betrayal. It was deeper, and only time could reveal it.
And that dream I had… it should never be her fate. She didn't deserve that.
I wouldn't let it happen.
I lifted my gaze.
What?
Zara had been watching us from one of the windows facing this garden.
