Chapter 60 Mattias.

Chapter 60 Mattias.
SHIMMA'S’s POV.

I shut the door, my heart pounding heavily in my chest. Mr Mattias kept calling out to me, banging at the door.

“Shimma! Shimma! Please, let's talk this out!“ He yelled, I could hear the desperation in his voice, but, God! it only made things worse.

My breath grew heavier as I stumbled up the stairs, shutting my bedroom door behind me. Leaning against it, I slid to the floor, tears pouring down my cheeks like an unrelenting rain.

What did I just do? I mumbled to myself, confusion wrapping around me like a thick fog. I had convinced myself these past few months that Mr. Mattias never truly loved me.

All I want is happiness. And it hurts so much to make such a decision, but maybe moving on would help, I thought.

I closed my eyes, letting the tears flow freely, each drop a release of the pain I had bottled up for so long.

I wanted happiness, I told myself. Maybe moving on was the answer. Maybe I could find someone who my parents would approve of, someone who wouldn’t cause me this much pain. But as those thoughts ran through my mind, I couldn’t shake the ache in my heart. God it hurt so much.

The sound of Mr. Mattias’s voice faded, and I allowed myself to lie down on the cold, hard floor. I felt so small, so lost.

He must have left, I thought, because i could no longer hear his voice. As i laid there. I felt a strange emptiness creep in.

———-

“Alarm ring!“

The shrill sound of my alarm jolted me awake, My eyes flying open in shock.

I blinked, glancing around, realizing I had cried myself to sleep. God my whole body ached from sleeping on the floor. but my heart ached even more.

I noticed the painful feeling finding it's way back, but i quickly wiped off the little tears that pricked there.

I needed to move on, I told myself again, convincing my heavy heart that not all lovers were meant to be together.

Hopefully, someday, this feelings would start to disappear. Or maybe never.

I sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

I had to hurry; I had to prepare for work. But then I remembered what had happened last night. There was no way i would work there again.

Well, The only reason I would be going there now, was to submit my resignation letter and demand my salary. I couldn’t let Mr. Kelvin take advantage of my time and effort, and emthen deny me my salary. Pervert.

Dressing in a casual black baggy pants and a white baggy hoodie, I didn’t care what Mr. Kelvin would think of me. After all, he had lost that right last night.

I headed downstairs, opening the refrigerator to grab a pack of snacks, a cold can of soda, and a bottle of water, tossing them into my bag with a mechanical motion.

Just as I was about to leave, my phone rang. It was my cab driver. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the day ahead as i walked out of my house.

———

As I arrived at the company, I felt the weight of everyone’s stares on me, the way i dressed.

I walked past them, my head held high, not giving a damn fuck about what they thought.

I reached my boss’s office door, taking a moment to gather my thoughts, each breath i took felt deep and heavy. How do i face him?

After gathering enough courage, I knocked on the door.

“Come in!“ I heard, but the voice that called me in wasn’t Mr. Kelvin’s.

It sent a jolt of shock through me as i opened the door, and there he was—Mr. Mattias, slouched in my boss’s chair, looking like he belonged there.

W—W—What is he doing here? Panic surged through me, twisting my stomach into knot.

How did he even get to know where i work?….
