CHAPTER NINETEEN
Unanswered questions
As Han focused on his training, his determination burned like a fierce flame within him. He was determined to prove himself worthy of becoming the Alpha, a title his father fought hard for but couldn't attain.
Each day, Han pushed himself to the limits, engaging in rigorous physical exercises to build his strength and endurance. He ran tirelessly through the forest, his muscles burning with exertion as he pushed himself to go faster and farther than before. He practiced his combat skills with his relentless will to prove himself and earn his respect.
But amidst his intense training times, there was one thought that consumed Han's mind like a festering wound – Nina. He wouldn't understand why she had come to Yoma. He had done everything possible to send her out of Yoma but all his plans weren't working.
Every time he caught sight of her, his heart twisted with resentment and anger. He couldn't bear to see her around. Everything about her irks him off. He just couldn't forget his father had favoured her over him. All he wanted was just fatherly love and support but Nina took all away from him. Leaving him with nothing but distance from his father. And with that, he would make sure he suffers the consequences. And as he watched her from afar, a dark glint of malice flickered in his eyes, making a silent promise to get his own pound of flesh.
Despite the resentment that Han had in his heart towards Nina, it didn't stop him from training hard. With each passing day, Han's training grew more fierce, his determination fueled by a burning desire for power and dominance. He engaged himself in his studies, going deeper into the secrets of the task for the position he sought. His plan was to outmatch any opponent who dared to challenge him.
But amidst the grueling demands of his training, there was one goal that burned brighter than all the rest – to prove himself worthy of the title of Alpha, to rise above his father's failures and claim his rightful place as the leader of the pack.
And as he looked upon Nina with eyes filled with malice and resentment, Han vowed to crush anyone who stood in his way, to seize the power and glory that he so desperately craved.
Nina had learned to adapt to life in the Yoma clan after the incident with Han. She spent most of her days assisting Nana Sam with her herb collection, finding solace in the quiet rhythm of their work together.
One afternoon, while Nina was lost in thought in her bedroom, there came a gentle knock on the door.
With a frown on her face, she asked, “Who could that be?” as she was having a double mind, she heard the knock again.
Reluctantly, she walked over to the door and opened it just to find her friends standing outside, their faces etched with remorse.
These were the new friends she made here in Yoma and they both seemed nice and loving only for them to betray her when she needed them the most. She was hurt and in pain.
Vowing not to experience such heartache, she decided to stay on her own, she didn't know who to trust and who really loved her.
At first, Nina hesitated, unsure whether she wanted to let them in. But as she looked into their eyes, she saw genuine regret and sorrow showing back at her.
With a heavy sigh, Nina stepped aside and allowed her friends to enter. They wasted no time in expressing their regret, their words tumbling out in a torrent of apologies and pleas for forgiveness.
“Nina, we are sorry, we didn't know what came over us. This town isn't known for such behavior. And we didn't want to be associated with such a lifestyle. Please forgive us for not believing in you. We miss you so much.” Joy and Eunice expressed. Their eyes almost filled with tears.
But Nina remained adamant, her heart still wounded by their betrayal. She couldn't bring herself to trust them again, not after what they had done. But they continue begging, promising it won't happen again.
“Please, Nina. We will never betray our friendship like that again. Find a place in your heart to forgive us.”
However, her friends were persistent, their remorse genuine and heartfelt. They promised never to betray her trust again, pledging to stand by her side no matter what.
As Nina listened to their earnest pleas, she felt pity for them. She really does love them but they hurt her but now she was ready to let go and give them another chance. Perhaps, she thought, forgiveness was possible after all.
With a heavy heart, Nina finally gave in, her lips curving into a small smile as she forgave her friends. “Alright, girls. I forgive you but don't ever hurt me like that again. If you don't understand anything about me, kindly ask me. Don't judge me without doing your findings.” she said, lifting them up as they hugged each other.
At that moment, she realized that true friendship was worth fighting for, even in the face of betrayal and hurt. And as she embraced her friends, she knew that their bond would only grow stronger in the days to come.
After doing all the emotional stuff, the girls sat down and began to talk and laugh. They began to catch up, talking about things they’d missed. And the forthcoming event.
They teased each other as the person who would emerge as Alpha. Joy playfully mentioned Han, and there was a pause.
His name reminded him of his wickedness and she wished he wouldn't win. Rather the father of her unborn baby. She thought, rubbing her pudding belly.
Despite all that Chris had done to her, Nina still loved and wished him well. She still loved him and hoped that one day, things would change and they would meet each other.
But one question that had disturbed her all this while was if Chris had moved on with another girl.
