Chapter 92

Chapter 92

I brought in the dried clothes and hung up the ones that had just finished washing in the machine.

I needed to prepare breakfast in advance for Jessica and me tomorrow morning.

And also...

The housework that should have been done right after work could only be crammed into now and finished all at once.

I was as busy as a spinning top being whipped by time, rushing around everywhere in the house.

Jason stared at me blankly for a moment, then went to the balcony.

I glanced at him when I had a moment and found that he had actually come back with a broom and was sweeping the floor with his head down.

A flash of surprise crossed my eyes. I never expected Jason to take the initiative to help with housework.

But since he was willing to share some of the burden, I didn't mind.

Jessica was also very well-behaved. She went to the bathroom to shower on her own after getting home.

She had always been very independent and easy to take care of.

When Jessica came out after her shower, wearing the new pink dinosaur pajamas I bought her, paired with her soft pink little face and big watery eyes.

"Jessica!" I rushed over and planted a big kiss on Jessica's little cheek!

Jessica silently raised her hand to wipe the saliva off her face and backed out of my embrace. "Mom, I'm going to bed! Good night, Mom! Dad... good night, Dad!"

Jessica looked at Jason with surprise and quickly ran back to her room.

I turned my head in confusion and bumped right into Jason's chest.

Jason lowered his head, and his forceful, domineering kiss landed on my lips without warning.

He kissed fiercely and urgently, conquering every inch, not even sparing half a breath of air in my mouth.

I tried to push him away, but he only held me tighter.

Gradually, I found myself getting lost in this kiss, too.

Finally, Jason let me go.

I snapped back to my senses and glared at Jason irritably. "Jason, we're just ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. We might as well be strangers now! Please don't do this kind of thing to me again!"

Compared to my anger, Jason clearly looked like he wanted more.

He slowly rubbed his lips, the corners of his mouth slightly raised.

"Jason!" I couldn't help but raise my voice.

Jason pretended not to hear and turned to continue sweeping.

But I had no way to deal with him, so I could only go take a shower.

I deliberately stayed in the bathroom a bit longer, hoping Jason would hurry up and leave.

When I pushed open the bathroom door, I looked around and didn't see Jason anywhere.

Only then did I breathe a sigh of relief.

It seemed he had really gone back.

I opened my bedroom door and froze in place.

Jason was standing by the window in my bedroom.

Hearing the noise, Jason turned his head.

His gaze fell on me and grew heated.

I stared at him warily and took a few steps back to create distance.

Jason approached with his long strides. As I watched the distance between us gradually shrink, my heartbeat accelerated uncontrollably.

Just then, Jason suddenly laughed softly.

He reached out to hook my chin, rubbing it suggestively, his tone lazy. "Sue, no need to be so nervous. If I really wanted to do something to you, you couldn't stop me anyway."

"Who cares what you're saying!"

I irritably swatted his hand away and said through gritted teeth, "It's getting late. Aren't you going back yet?"

"Wait a bit."

Jason suddenly became calm and looked at me, asking, "Sue, can you tell me now why you suddenly broke up back then?"

I paused and looked up at him. "It's been five years already. What's the point of suddenly asking about this now?"

"I want to know." Jason nodded. "I want to know the real reason."

I suddenly felt very tired and lowered my eyes. "I don't want to talk about it. I'm tired. Please go back."

Jason looked at me deeply, said nothing more, and turned to leave.

The next morning.

I was working at DT Corp when something occurred to me, and I sent Jason a message: [You don't need to come find me at lunch today. I have lunch plans with Lily.]

I didn't want to go through another embarrassing situation like yesterday.

I found an excuse to keep Jason from coming over.

I thought this would perfectly avoid him, but just as lunchtime was approaching and I was tidying up my workstation, I saw a delivery guy in a yellow vest walk in, holding a very large bouquet of flowers.

The delivery guy looked around, then asked in a loud voice, "Excuse me, who is Miss Sue?"

All my colleagues' eyes turned to look.

My scalp tingled with embarrassment, but I had to admit, "...That's me."

"Miss Sue, these flowers are from Mr. Cooper. Please accept them."

The delivery guy handed me the flowers, then took out a card and said, "And this is a card Mr. Cooper specially wrote for you. Would you like me to read it?"

"No need! Thank you!" I widened my eyes, looking horrified as I refused and snatched the card away.

The delivery guy left looking rather disappointed.

I patted my chest in relief.

Where on earth did Jason learn these methods for pursuing girls?

This was way too embarrassing...

I clutched the card tightly and hastily stuffed it into my pocket, not even daring to open it and look.

My colleagues gathered around at this point, looking at me with envy all over their faces.

"Ms. Wilson, Mr. Cooper is so romantic! Yesterday he filled the entire trunk of his sports car with roses, and today he sent such a huge bouquet. We're so jealous!"

"How far have you two gotten? Are you together? When are you meeting the parents? Are you getting married soon?"

I smiled awkwardly and said helplessly, "Stop asking so many questions. Aren't you going to lunch? Hurry up and go!"

My colleagues left looking disappointed.

I held this huge bouquet and returned to my workstation.

Just as I placed it on my desk, I realized the flowers were so big that I had no space to work.

With no other choice, I had to carry the flowers downstairs, attracting a whole bunch of stares again.

My face was expressionless as I cursed Jason over and over in my mind.

Lily was already waiting for me downstairs.

She looked at me in surprise and asked, "Why are you carrying such a huge bouquet?"

I handed it directly to her. "For you."

Lily instinctively reached out to take it.

She held the flowers, looking left and right, and answered with a smile, "How nice. This is the first time in my life I've received flowers."

I drove with Lily to the restaurant.

Just as we were getting out of the car, Lily stuffed the flowers back into my hand, saying, "But I don't dare take these flowers. Jason sent them to you, right? They already have an owner. I can't take them!"

I sighed.

What was I supposed to do with such a huge bouquet?

I temporarily left the flowers in the car and walked into the restaurant arm in arm with Lily.

After ordering, Lily asked me, "You went to Old Cooper Mansion yesterday. How was it? Were they good to you?"
