Chapter 68
Sue actually has a child already?!
Victoria's eyes widened in disbelief as she flipped through the documents over and over again.
That's right, Sue really did have a child!
Joy instantly filled Victoria's mind. Her hands were almost trembling as she dialed the number. "Who's the father of Sue's child?! Didn't you investigate that?"
"We couldn't find out." The voice on the other end was processed through a voice changer, making it impossible to tell if it was male or female.
"How could you not find out such important information?" Victoria frowned and couldn't help raising her voice. "Didn't you say you could find out anything?"
"It seems the other party's identity is complicated. It's not the same level of difficulty as investigating Sue," the person explained.
But Victoria didn't want explanations.
She took a deep breath and said, "I can pay more. You must find out who the child's father is!"
After hanging up, only Victoria's rapid, anxious breathing filled the quiet room.
She stared at the documents again and again, her resentment and dissatisfaction growing stronger.
Why did Jason still like Sue even though he knew she had a child out of wedlock?
What was so good about her anyway?
Victoria was furious.
But the next second, Victoria's eyes lit up.
She stared hard at Sue's delicate face in the documents, her smile full of malice. "So what if you can fool Jason? If Grandma Cooper finds out you have a daughter, there's no way she'll let you into the family! Jason can only be mine!"
On Wednesday, when I picked up Jessica from school, I vaguely felt like someone was watching me from the shadows.
But when I looked up, I couldn't find anything.
Must be my imagination.
I rubbed Jessica's little head and carried her to the car.
In a corner I couldn't see, Victoria looked smugly at the photos she'd just taken on her phone.
After getting the photos, the first thing Victoria did was head straight to Cooper Old Mansion.
"Sorry, Mrs. Cooper has given orders that you're not allowed in," the butler blocked Victoria's way, looking at her with contempt.
Victoria said through gritted teeth, "I have something very important to tell Grandma Cooper! Let me through right now!"
The butler looked Victoria up and down and, seeing that she didn't seem to be lying, finally turned around and went inside to report to Grandma Cooper.
When Grandma Cooper heard it was Victoria, she immediately frowned and waved her hand. "I won't see her! What important business could she possibly have? My only granddaughter-in-law is Sue. Victoria is a bad person, I absolutely won't let her in!"
At the mention of Sue, Grandma Cooper smiled again.
She was picking out clothes, saying, "I'll wear this outfit to see Sue today. It looks more fashionable. Sue will definitely have more to talk about with me."
Just picking out clothes took Grandma Cooper over an hour.
Before getting ready to leave, Grandma Cooper called Jason. "Jason, don't work late tonight. Come have dinner with me!"
Jason asked in confusion, "Where are we going?"
"Don't worry about that! Just listen to your grandma, you definitely won't regret it!"
After saying this, Grandma Cooper didn't give Jason a chance to ask more questions or refuse, and hung up directly.
She was about to go out to find Sue when Victoria blocked her way.
"Why are you still here?" Grandma Cooper frowned, staring at Victoria with displeasure and waving her hand impatiently. "Someone come here and take her away. I feel uncomfortable just looking at her!"
Several bodyguards immediately stepped forward.
Victoria had been waiting at the door for so long; how could she let Grandma Cooper just leave like this?
"Grandma Cooper, please don't be angry. I really do have something very important today!" Victoria spoke rapidly.
Grandma Cooper was unmoved. "Not interested. Get lost!"
Seeing Grandma Cooper about to leave, Victoria quickly shouted, "Sue has a child!"
Grandma Cooper's steps stopped instantly.
Victoria hurried forward, walking up to Grandma Cooper. She handed over the photos she'd specially taken. "Look, these are photos I took. The child in the photo is Sue's daughter."
Grandma Cooper put on her glasses and looked at the photos carefully.
The adult in the photo was indeed Sue, and the little girl she was holding did look quite similar to Sue.
"Are you sure this is her child?" Grandma Cooper's hands trembled slightly.
Victoria was so absorbed in her scheme succeeding that she didn't notice the wild joy in Grandma Cooper's eyes at all.
"That's right, I've investigated it all. This child was born to Sue back then, and she brought her to Seaside City later." Victoria said.
Grandma Cooper ignored Victoria, looking down and carefully studying Jessica's appearance.
Jessica was cute and pretty. She liked her the moment she saw her!
She remembered that when Sue rescued her, she vaguely saw a small child in the ambulance.
She said it was her great-grandson, but no one in the family believed her.
She never expected Victoria to deliver news of her great-granddaughter right to her doorstep!
"Grandma Cooper, Sue already had a child, yet she's still getting involved with Jason!"
Victoria acted completely as if she was thinking of Jason, saying, "Jason is so confused by Sue right now that no matter how I try to persuade him, he won't listen. Now only you can help. Jason has always been very respectful and listens to you. As long as you talk to him, he'll definitely listen."
Victoria kept trying to persuade her from the side, but Grandma Cooper didn't hear a single word.
All she could think about now was that she had an adorable great-granddaughter!
Jessica was so cute, and she could tell at first glance that this must be her great-granddaughter!
Grandma Cooper clutched the photo tightly and asked, "Can I have this photo?"
"Of course, please keep it." Victoria secretly observed Grandma Cooper's expression.
She thought Grandma Cooper would definitely fly into a rage, but Grandma Cooper's reaction seemed too calm. She didn't know what Grandma Cooper was thinking.
"Since you took photos, you should know which kindergarten this child goes to, right?" Grandma Cooper asked calmly.
Victoria's heart leaped with joy, and she quickly answered, "I know, it's Sunshine Kindergarten."
Victoria was afraid Grandma Cooper wouldn't know the details and wouldn't be able to find Sue.
Victoria added in detail, "Sue's daughter is called Jessica Wilson, currently attending Class Two at Sunshine Kindergarten."
Grandma Cooper nodded slightly. After getting the information she wanted, she didn't spare Victoria another glance and walked away.
She was going to Sunshine Kindergarten to find Jessica right now!
Victoria's goal was achieved, so she didn't continue pestering Grandma Cooper.
A determined light flashed in her eyes.
With this information, she didn't believe Sue could still marry Jason.
She would make Jason realize that she was the only woman truly suitable for him.
