Chapter 247
"Okay, please let Jason know for me."
I nodded and headed to Jason's office with ease.
The office was still in black and white tones, clean and minimalist, reflecting the owner's decisive and sharp personality.
I sat on the reception sofa for a while.
Jason hadn't returned yet, so I simply placed the documents on his desk and went straight to the lounge.
Originally, I planned to lean back here and play with my phone while waiting for Jason to finish his meeting.
I never expected to fall asleep while holding my phone.
In my drowsy state, I felt a sticky, warm sensation on my lips.
My heart jumped, and I instinctively raised my hand to slap whoever it was!
My wrist was caught, and a deep, magnetic voice sounded in my ear. "Honey, disturbed from a sweet dream and now you want to murder your husband?"
Jason?
Only then did I realize. and slowly opened my eyes.
"Oh, it's you. I thought some pervert was trying to take advantage of me."
"My office, my lounge—who else could come in here without any obstacles besides me?"
Jason smiled indulgently.
He lowered his head and kissed me."How did you fall asleep just leaning there? Were you that tired last night?"
Images from last night's intimacy flashed through my mind.
Jason thought I'd been upset by Flora and Ember, so he'd been especially attentive in taking care of me last night.
My cheeks flushed as I looked away.
"Don't even mention it—it's all your fault! I told you I had to work today!"
"Okay, okay, it's my fault."
Jason sat down on the bed and pulled me close, kissing me all over my face affectionately.
"Honey, I'm right here in front of you now, so punish me however you want! I'll accept it willingly!"
I rolled my eyes at him.
"This is the office. Can you be serious?"
"So what? They won't come in without my permission."
Jason's arms locked around me like iron clamps.
He clearly wasn't going to let go until I "punished" him.
He was becoming more and more shameless!
I patted his face perfunctorily. "Alright, I'll settle this score with you tonight at home. Right now it's work hours."
Jason took hold of my hand and kissed my palm.
His eyes surged with waves intense enough to swallow someone whole as he stared straight at me.
"Okay, I'll wait for your punishment tonight."
Jason pulled me to lean against the bed and stayed close for quite a while. Only under my increasingly angry gaze did he slowly let go.
Coming out of the lounge, I handed the documents to Jason.
Jason reached out his long arm and pulled me into his embrace.
I sat on his lap, looking left and right, feeling this position was somewhat awkward.
Sure, we were married, but this wasn't home—this was the office.
If someone came in to report work and saw me sitting on Jason like this, where would I hide my face?
I shifted uncomfortably, "Honey, what are you doing? Let me down!"
"No."
Jason shamelessly acted like a rogue.
"Although you're beautiful and kind-hearted and can't bear to punish me right now, I need to be proactive and serve as your human sofa to properly punish myself."
This wasn't punishment at all!
It was more like a reward!
"Let me go!"
"No, I like being close to you."
"If you don't let go, I'm going to get angry!"
Before Jason could respond, someone knocked on the office door.
"Mr. Cooper."
It was Samuel's voice.
I instantly tensed up, staring at the door!
No way!
If Samuel pushed the door open and saw this, I'd never come back here again.
I couldn't face anyone!
"What is it?"
Jason, on the other hand, remained completely calm and asked leisurely.
I whispered in his ear, "Honey, let me go quickly. It won't look good if someone sees us like this."
Jason raised an eyebrow and looked at me lazily.
His lips moved, his voice low and husky, "Sure, if you kiss me, I'll let go immediately without hesitation. How about that?"
Just then, Samuel's knocking came from the door again.
My heart jumped into my throat.
Without thinking about anything else, I quickly lowered my head and pecked Jason's cheek.
Jason took the opportunity to hold my head and gave me a deep kiss.
Worried that Samuel would walk in on us, I was extremely anxious, my whole body tense and stiff.
My heart raced as if it would burst out of my chest!
Fortunately, Jason soon let me go.
I escaped from his embrace and moved far away from him!
Jason looked at me with amusement and shook his head.
"Without my permission, Samuel won't barge in."
He waited until I had straightened my clothes before saying, "Come in."
The door opened in response.
Samuel walked in without looking sideways, efficiently reported his work, then left without looking sideways.
After the office door closed again, I stared at Jason, "When can we be this efficient?"
I came here just to review document details—something that could be done in an hour had now taken three hours and we still hadn't started.
Jason looked at me with a half-smile, "Really, honey? Don't you know it's not good when a man is too fast?"
When I realized what he was talking about, my face turned bright red!
"Jason Cooper!"
I called him by his full name.
When would he ever act serious?
Jason raised his hands in surrender, "Okay, okay, I was wrong, honey, I was wrong. Let's look at the documents now."
After reviewing the document details with Jason, I left without looking back.
Sure enough, meetings with Jason should happen at home, not at the office.
"Sue."
Just as I left the Glacier Corp building and entered the underground parking garage, I heard someone call my name.
"You came to find me—have you figured out what to choose?"
I looked calmly at Luke standing before me.
Luke's expression was somewhat displeased, "Do you have to make such a big deal out of this? No matter what, we're family. It's been so long now—shouldn't you have calmed down by now?"
Hearing this, I laughed coldly.
"Who's making a big deal? And who's family with you? You'd better never appear in front of me again for the rest of your life. That would be best."
Actually, I didn't understand.
If you can't make it in Seaside City, then just go back to Sunrise City honestly.
Why was Luke shamelessly staying here?
"Sue!"
Luke raised his voice, furrowing his brow, "I'm your older brother! They say an older brother is like a father—is this how you talk to me? I asked you to arrange a job for me before—how's that going?"
"The job shouldn't be too busy—nine to five is the most I can accept. As for salary, I'm not greedy, I don't need the highest, but it should at least be above average at Glacier Corp, right? After all, you know the cost of living in Seaside City is high. If the income is too low, I won't be able to support Mom, let alone get married."
I almost laughed out loud.
Even at this point, Luke was still thinking about getting married?
