Chapter 225

Chapter 225

A faint warmth crept across my cheeks.

I had long grown accustomed to Jason’s sweet words. Yet every time he says things like this, my heart fills with sweetness, as if it's been stuffed full of honey.

We arrived at our destination.

Jason took my hand and led me into the mall.

As we passed a bridal boutique, he suddenly stopped.

I looked at him in surprise, "What's wrong?"

"Let's go in and take a look."

Without waiting for my response, he gently tugged me inside.

A staff member immediately came over to greet us warmly.

"How may I assist you?"

Just as I was about to say we were just browsing through their services, Jason took out a card with gold edges and handed it to them.

The staff member accepted it with both hands. The moment her eyes landed on it, her demeanor shifted—her posture straightened and became even more respectful.

"Mr. Cooper, please have a seat with your wife. The wedding dress has arrived. We'll bring it out right away."

I immediately caught the key point.

"What wedding dress? I don't remember ordering a wedding dress."

Jason smiled without saying anything. The staff member leading us to the VIP room explained with a smile, "It's a wedding dress Mr. Cooper specially prepared for your wedding. It was designed by a world-renowned master. The entire dress is handcrafted. Every pattern, every diamond on it is custom-made by hand, and also..."

The staff member said a lot, but I only understood one thing.

This wedding dress was very expensive!

Just hearing the description alone made my heart ache.
It seemed I still had a long way to go before I could fully adapt to the lifestyle of the wealthy.
We didn't wait too long.

Five or six staff members came in together, carefully wheeling in a display cart.

Atop the cart stood a mannequin wearing a gorgeous, elaborate wedding dress.

The layered skirt of the dress was covered with diamonds, sparkling like stars under the lights.

I couldn't help but say, "It's beautiful."

"Go try it on."

Jason's voice was gentle.

I was still a bit dazed, hardly believing that this wedding dress was for me.

It was too beautiful.

So beautiful that I almost felt unworthy of touching it. Sensing my hesitation, Jason took my hand and led me toward the fitting room.

I opened my mouth, and it took me a moment to find my voice.

"Honey, this wedding dress is so beautiful."

"No matter how beautiful it is, it can't compare to you. Relax, clothes are meant to be worn. In my eyes, only a dress like this is worthy of you."

Jason gently stroked my cheek, his voice so tender it could almost drip water.

I came back to my senses and nodded, entering the fitting room.

The gown was far more complicated than it looked. Its long, sweeping train and intricate design made it difficult to put on.
Looking at the handmade lace patterns on it, I became extra careful even with my movements.

Two staff members were there to help me put it on.

As they helped, they couldn't stop praising Jason.

"Mrs. Cooper, Mr. Cooper really loves you. This wedding dress was specially designed and custom-made by Mr. Cooper. It's a one-of-a-kind dress that belongs only to you."

"Exactly! How many women in this world want a wedding dress of their own but never get one."

"If it were me, I’d probably faint from happiness.”

"Forget it, I think you should just dream about it. Not all men are like Mr. Cooper."

I couldn’t help but smile at their chatter.

Yes, I feel very happy too.

This feeling of being cherished makes my whole heart feel full.

Once the dress was finally on, I carefully lifted the heavy train and stood behind the curtain, feeling inexplicably nervous.

I wondered what Jason's reaction would be when he saw me.

The curtain slowly opened, and I clearly saw Jason's eyes light up instantly.

His gaze was like stars, like fire, almost igniting my soul.

I gently pressed my lips together, suddenly shy under his gaze. "How is it?" I asked softly. "Does it look good?"

“Beautiful,” he replied without hesitation, his eyes burning. “You’re breathtaking. Like something out of a dream.”

I turned around in front of the mirror.

In the mirror, the woman in the wedding dress looked like an elf walking out of a painting, with elegant movements and a noble posture.

Even I found it hard to imagine that I could look so beautiful in a wedding dress. It was even more beautiful than I had ever imagined.

Even after leaving the bridal shop, I still felt as though I hadn’t fully returned to reality.
I felt light and airy, as if walking on clouds.

After getting in the car, I grabbed Jason's arm.

"Honey."

"What's wrong?"

"Pinch me. I feel like I'm dreaming."

Jason looked at me with an amused expression. “Why would you say that?”

I blinked very slowly, then said, "The wedding dress is too beautiful. Even in my dreams, I wouldn't dare imagine I could have such a beautiful wedding dress."

He reached out and ruffled my hair gently. " You need to have more confidence in yourself."

I didn't lose my composure in the store—that was already pretty confident of me.

I took Jason's hand and said seriously, "Honey, thank you."

Glacier Corp, CEO's office.

Samuel stood across from Jason, holding a tablet as he reported the upcoming schedule and work arrangements. Halfway through, he seemed to think of something and looked up.

"Mr. Cooper, when do you want to set a date for your wedding with your wife?"

Jason's eyes moved slightly, his expression softening considerably.

"We still need some time. A wedding only happens once in a lifetime. It shouldn’t be rushed."

He wanted to do everything possible to give me the grandest and most unforgettable wedding.

Samuel nodded in understanding, "Got it."

After finishing his report, he left the office. But only moments later, the office door was pushed open again—this time with urgency. Samuel’s expression had turned grave.

"Mr. Cooper, we have a problem!"

"We just received news that Victoria escaped from the psychiatric hospital!"

At these words, Jason's face instantly darkened.

"What happened? Didn't I tell them to keep a close eye on her?"

Samuel spoke quickly, tension evident in his voice. "The psychiatric hospital said that Victoria suddenly fell seriously ill today. While being transported to the city center hospital for treatment, she took advantage of the medical staff's inattention and ran away."

"They couldn't even watch one crazy woman?"

Jason frowned, "Did they call the police?"

Samuel nodded, "Police have already been notified, and they are conducting a full search, but there's no trace of her yet."

Jason's expression grew even darker.

He rubbed his temples, "I understand. You can go now. Keep monitoring the situation. The moment there’s any update, report to me immediately."

"Yes, Mr. Cooper."

The office door closed.

Jason slowly exhaled, his eyes gloomy and disturbingly intense.

Victoria, you'd better pray you don't do something irreversible!

At the same time, I was working at Polaris Company when I received a message from Jason.

Jason: [Honey, don't go to the company for a while. Take some time off and stay home.]

Not go to the company?

I was stunned.

The company was already short-staffed. I had just taken a day off recently for Jessica's parent-teacher conference, and now he wants me to take an extended leave?

Without even thinking, I knew this leave request wouldn't be approved.

But Jason isn't someone who makes unreasonable demands out of nowhere.

I asked: [What's wrong? Did something happen?]
