Chapter 155
Soon, I learned the price of provocation.
Jason went crazy, taking what he wanted from me over and over again.
That wasn't even the worst part—while we were fucking, he kept asking me embarrassing questions.
If I didn't answer, he'd just keep tormenting me until I was in tears, giving him exactly what he wanted.
After that wild night, I didn't even know when I fell asleep.
When I woke up, it was way past my usual time.
I leaned against the headboard, feeling sore all over, gritting my teeth in frustration.
Once Jason starts fucking, he completely loses control!
If this keeps up, I'm worried my body won't be able to take it!
I struggled to get out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
Days without work were so relaxing.
Even though I woke up pretty late, it didn't really matter to me.
Because I didn't have to work.
While I was thinking about what to do today, Kelly suddenly called.
"Sue, I heard you quit your job. Want to go shopping together today?"
Since I really had no plans for the day, and Tamsin was home to look after Jessica, I agreed without much hesitation.
"Sure."
Kelly arrived quickly. In less than half an hour, I heard a car horn outside the villa.
I walked out and saw Kelly in a sports car parked by the road, waving at me excitedly.
Once I got in the car, Kelly asked with a grin, "So Sue, have you discovered how great it is not to work?"
I nodded quite sincerely, "Yes, ever since I stopped working, the whole world seems so much better."
Kelly laughed out loud, "You're so funny, I really like you more and more!"
She shrugged, "That's why I don't want to work. Working is just asking for trouble, isn't it?"
I smiled silently without saying much more.
Not everyone could be like Kelly, with a prominent family background that let her live comfortably for life.
Most people need to keep working hard without a break.
But I didn't say anything about that.
Kelly took me to get our nails done.
I chose a cat-eye manicure.
This was my first time getting a manicure. I finally understood that those beautiful-looking nails actually take several hours to complete.
"Your hands are so beautiful! I've always thought your hands were gorgeous!"
Kelly stared with wide eyes, looking at me enviously.
I smiled a bit shyly, "Your hands are beautiful too."
I wasn't just being polite. Kelly's hands were long and slender, smooth and soft. They really did look amazing with the manicure.
After finishing our nails, we wandered around the mall for a bit, and it was already dinner time.
Just then, Lily called to invite me to dinner.
"Kelly and I are out shopping. Why don't you come over and we can have dinner together?"
I suggested.
"Sure."
Lily agreed right away, and I sent her the address.
Kelly was quite experienced with food and dining, and booked a popular restaurant.
When Lily arrived, the three of us went into the restaurant together.
But as soon as I entered, I looked up and saw a familiar and disgusting person.
Chris.
Chris was sitting at a nearby table with two women—one young and pretty, the other older.
I instinctively looked at Lily.
I wanted to suggest we eat somewhere else, since having someone like that around was just bad luck.
But Lily shook her head, "It's all in the past between us. I'm not the one who did something wrong, so I don't need to avoid him."
Since the person involved didn't care, I didn't say anything more.
Unfortunately, our table wasn't far from the three of them.
Their conversation came through clearly.
The young woman looked at the older woman, "Mom, what did the Cooper family say? Is there any news?"
The Cooper family?
My ears perked up immediately.
Kelly saw how curious I looked and whispered in my ear, "Those three are all from the Miller family. The man is Chris, the younger woman is his sister Flora Miller, and the other one is his mother, Ember Stone."
I nodded and gave Kelly an appreciative look.
When you want to hear gossip, having someone fill you in on the details is really great!
Ember's expression didn't look good.
"Forget about this."
Flora, "Why?"
Ember, "Your dad said Jason has a girlfriend. They even have a child together. You want to marry Jason? Just forget it!"
Flora's eyes widened, her voice rising, "How is that possible?"
She seemed to think of something, and a smile appeared on her face.
"I know—you must be talking about that woman who caused all that drama online recently, right? She did bring a child and tried to cling to Jason, but everyone online said she was just trying to blackmail him."
"That's Jason we're talking about—not just anyone can blackmail him. Would Jason even look at her? She's dreaming!"
The more Flora talked, the more convinced she became, and her expression relaxed.
But Ember looked at her deeply and shook her head with a serious face.
"Your dad said Jason admitted it himself. Thomas was there too. They both confirmed that woman's identity. It's probably true."
Chris, who hadn't spoken until now, added, "I've seen that woman. Jason really protects her. They're probably real."
Even so, Flora still didn't believe it, "Impossible. Even if what you're saying is true, Jason is just infatuated for now."
"Men, you know—sometimes they want to play around, which is understandable. I'm willing to tolerate it."
Chris frowned, "Flora, forget it. Don't mess with Jason. He's not that easy to deal with."
"That's because he hasn't fallen in love with me yet. Once he falls for me, I'll be all he thinks about, and he'll definitely spoil me like a princess."
Flora said confidently, her voice full of longing and determination.
Kelly, sitting on our side, couldn't help rolling her eyes several times after hearing this.
She stood up and walked straight to the next table.
"Flora, you're really shameless! Why don't you look in the mirror and see what you look like? How dare you fantasize about Jason? Where do you get the confidence?"
Flora's face turned red.
"Kelly? You were eavesdropping on us!"
Kelly rolled her eyes, "You're fantasizing about someone else's boyfriend in public, and you still have the nerve to talk?"
Flora was furious, gritting her teeth, "Don't get cocky! Once I become Jason's wife, let's see if you can still be so arrogant!"
That one sentence made Kelly laugh.
"You? Really?"
She ran over, pulled me to the next table, and said proudly, "See? This is my sister-in-law! Beautiful, gentle, and classy—she's better than you in every way. Jason only has eyes for her. Someone like you who can't compare to Sue in any aspect should just give up!"
