Chapter 156
I felt a bit helpless, not expecting to be dragged over so suddenly like that.
But now Jason really was my boyfriend, which meant Flora was my rival in love.
I straightened up and looked at her calmly.
Flora's critical gaze fell on me, and she scoffed, "Her? What makes her think she can compete with me?"
I met her gaze calmly and said softly, "Because the person Jason loves is me. Because we're dating, and we're not ruling out the possibility of marriage. And also..."
I paused, then added as Flora's face grew paler, "The child mentioned online is indeed our daughter."
Flora shook her head in disbelief. She wanted to say something more, but I had no interest in watching her heartbreak show here.
"Kelly, let's go back and eat."
"Okay!"
Kelly hooked her arm through mine with a smile as we walked back.
I could feel Flora's gaze following me the whole time.
But so what?
Jason said I could trust him, so I would trust him.
Behind us, the Miller family seemed to still be discussing something, their voices too low to hear clearly. I wasn't interested anyway.
Back at our table, the food had already been served.
Kelly ate while complaining, "I really can't believe it. These days anyone thinks they can have their eye on Jason. She should look at herself first. Become my sister-in-law? As if!"
I looked at her with amusement, "Jason used to be a well-known figure in Seaside City. Plenty of people had their eye on him."
"That's true. So many people liked Jason."
Kelly nodded in agreement without thinking.
I raised an eyebrow, "Really? Tell me about it. How many?"
Kelly blinked, put down her utensils, and affectionately hooked her arm through mine.
"Sue, don't you understand Jason? No matter how many people are out there, his whole heart is with you. Body and soul, he's yours!"
I smiled without saying anything.
Kelly felt a bit guilty and asked tentatively, "Sue, after everything I've said, you must feel Jason's love for you, right?"
I shook my head, "No."
Without a word, Kelly pulled out her phone, "That's easy to fix. I'll call Jason and have him come express it himself!"
I quickly stopped her, "I feel it now."
If Jason really came over, I wouldn't be able to finish this meal in peace.
Kelly looked at me with a smile, then suddenly asked curiously, "Have you and my Jason fucked?"
The utensils in my hand dropped to the floor unexpectedly.
Lily called over a server to get new utensils, "Kelly, that's way too direct. Sue will be embarrassed."
I was about to thank Lily for the save, but then she propped her chin on her hand and looked at me, "So you definitely fucked, right?"
Kelly's mouth twitched, "Lily, you're not being any more subtle!"
My face started heating up uncontrollably.
Taking the new utensils from the server, I nodded lightly, "We fucked."
The two of them made suggestive teasing sounds in unison.
I calmly added, "Otherwise how would Jessica have come about?"
The two exchanged glances, and Kelly pouted, "You're so mean. We were obviously asking about now!"
I picked up some food, "You want to know?"
"Yes!"
"Not telling you."
I answered with a smile.
Their faces fell instantly.
Lily looked at me knowingly, "You two definitely fucked."
Kelly looked at her curiously, "How do you know?"
Lily, "From experience."
"What experience?"
Kelly blinked, then said something shocking, "Experience from fucking Ryan?"
Lily's hand paused while picking up food.
Kelly immediately got interested and moved from beside me to sit next to Lily.
Lily became instantly alert, "What are you doing?"
"Lily, tell us about fucking Ryan! What positions do you guys usually like? How does it feel?"
Kelly's questions kept coming.
Lily silently moved away a bit.
Kelly stuck close again.
Lily pushed her away with a headache, "What kind of questions are these?"
"I'm just curious!"
"If you're curious, find a man and try it yourself."
Hearing this, Kelly immediately lost her energy.
She rubbed her face and sighed deeply, "I'd like to, but I don't have a boyfriend. Plus I don't want to just find some random guy. What if I accidentally catch something?"
I nodded in agreement, "That's right. You can't be casual about these things. You're still young, you need to be careful."
"I'll listen to you."
Kelly looked at me dependently and nodded hard.
She seemed to suddenly think of something, "Lily, do you know Flora?"
I looked at her in confusion, not understanding why Kelly would suddenly ask this.
Kelly explained, "Just now when we were coming back, I heard Flora seem to be talking about Lily."
Lily nodded frankly, "Not really."
"Then why would she curse at you? Is she sick?"
Kelly was puzzled.
"Because I was with Chris for five years, and Flora doesn't like me."
Lily was very calm when saying this.
Kelly said without thinking, "That's not right. If you were with Chris for five years, why haven't I seen you before?"
As soon as she finished saying this, before realizing there was a problem, she stared at Lily waiting for an answer.
I sighed helplessly inside. How could Kelly be so tactless?
I cleared my throat, using my eyes to signal Kelly to stop asking.
Only then did Kelly realize, covering her mouth apologetically.
"Sorry, sorry! Lily, I was being nosy. Just ignore me!"
Lily smiled indifferently, "It's fine. It's all in the past. Except for the Miller family, basically no one knew about me being with him."
Looking at Lily's small face, my heart couldn't help but ache for her.
"Scumbag! Irresponsible jerk!"
Kelly couldn't help but curse angrily.
Lily, the person involved, looked quite calm though.
"It's all in the past. Now I'm the one who doesn't want him."
Although Lily said this, the atmosphere at the table was still a bit heavy.
I rubbed my temples helplessly, "Let's eat first."
Coming out of the restaurant, Chris suddenly stopped Lily, "Don't leave yet. We need to talk."
Before Lily could say anything, Kelly stepped forward two steps, blocking Lily behind her, glaring fiercely at Chris, "Talk about what? What's there to talk about with a scumbag like you! Get lost! Stop being an eyesore in front of us. I get angry just looking at you!"
I couldn't help but give Kelly a mental thumbs up.
Chris's face darkened, and he said in a low voice, "This has nothing to do with you. Move aside."
Kelly put her hands on her hips, her face full of defiance, "No! I'm standing right here today. I want to see which shameless man who already has a fiancée still wants to pester Lily!"
She sneered, "How about I let your fiancée see what you look like right now?"
Chris's face instantly became gloomy.
He gritted his teeth, "Kelly, I'm giving you one last chance. Move aside. Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you're from the Cooper family."
