Chapter 216 Actually Still Thinking About Alfonso
The kindergarten had been found. Elizabeth suggested, "How about we make pizza tonight? And invite Mabel over."
Timothy nodded, "Whatever you say."
Elizabeth smiled and called Mabel.
Mabel was woken by her phone ringing. She reached for it without even opening her eyes, answered the call, and said, "Okay, I'll come over tonight."
Alfonso sat on the edge of the bed, fully dressed and put together.
He watched leisurely as Mabel fumbled for her phone on the nightstand.
After Mabel hung up, she sensed something was off. She opened her eyes, turned her head, and saw Alfonso adjusting his cufflinks.
"You're awake."
"You..."
"You want to ask why I'm here? Don't tell me you forgot? We slept together. You don't want to take responsibility?"
Alfonso looked at her with an aggrieved expression.
Mabel's voice caught in her throat. She slowly started to remember.
Alfonso's eyes carried a hint of amusement, "Good, looks like you remember now."
Mabel instinctively touched her waist, feeling a soreness.
She silently turned around, her back to Alfonso, not knowing how to face him.
Her attitude dampened Alfonso's previously cheerful mood, his expression darkening.
Alfonso lay down on the bed and wrapped his arms around Mabel from behind, blanket and all.
His kisses fell on her back.
Alfonso said in a low voice, "Mabel, back in college, you said you'd become my bride someday."
Mabel took a deep breath, her eyes reddening slightly, her heart aching, wanting to cry.
Her voice choked up, "That year I went to find you, wanted you to take me away, but I saw you lying in the same bed with Sophia."
Alfonso froze for a moment, then his expression became complicated. He held Mabel tightly.
Mabel didn't hear any explanation from him, and her heart instantly went cold.
She struggled to break free from his embrace.
Alfonso felt her struggling, his heart tightened, and he held her down, "Mabel, listen to me."
Mabel suddenly turned around, looking at him with those pure eyes he loved most, smiling, "Go ahead."
Alfonso was instantly speechless.
Elizabeth was teaching Seraphina how to make pizza.
Seraphina was very happy, even though her pizza didn't look very good.
Elizabeth praised her, "Our Seraphina is already amazing."
Seraphina smiled and nodded, "Seraphina's pizza looks better than Mabel's!"
Elizabeth turned to look at Mabel.
Elizabeth saw Mabel spacing out, holding the dough motionless in her hands.
Elizabeth felt a bit uneasy. She asked with concern, "Mabel, what's wrong?"
Mabel snapped back to reality, showing a smile that looked worse than crying, "Elizabeth, don't worry, I'm fine."
Elizabeth naturally didn't believe her. Mabel looked so lost - something was definitely wrong.
"Seraphina, go to the kitchen and check if your dad is seriously baking the pizza."
Elizabeth first sent Seraphina to the kitchen.
Seraphina nodded and ran to the kitchen.
Elizabeth put down what she was doing, "Mabel, if something's bothering you, you can tell me. Having another person means someone to help you figure things out."
Mabel finally couldn't hold it in, "Elizabeth, why did he come back to find me? I finally managed to move on."
