Chapter 154 After Seeing the Intense Kissing Video
Chapter 154 After Seeing the Intense Kissing Video
Anna practically fled from Alexander's house. She didn't understand why she couldn't bear to hear anything about Bruce. After all these years, she'd stopped hoping to get anything from him. She'd been working hard to let go, but no matter what she did, she just couldn't forget.
Wanting to forget but unable to - probably only a fool like her would do such a thing!
Thinking about the cake Bruce gave Hazel earlier made her heart ache. Bruce had once sworn that he'd only buy cakes with rose patterns for her in this lifetime. And now, just a few years later, he'd given one to Hazel. Men's words really couldn't be trusted.
"Bruce, you're such a jerk," she cursed, hitting the steering wheel so hard her hand turned red.
Her hand hurt, but her heart hurt more.
She laughed bitterly at herself. Now she had to forget, whether she wanted to or not.
The next day, Charlotte set out early for Harmony City with Ethan and Bruce. Ethan was dressed up like a little star in a sky-blue denim outfit that was casual yet fitted, with a cool black baseball cap and sunglasses adding to his charm.
Charlotte felt frustrated looking at his pants that only reached his ankles. Just three months ago on their last trip, these pants had fit perfectly, and now they were already this short. How did the Wilson family people grow so tall? Looks like this kid would be tall too - he already came up to Bruce's waist.
"When we get out of the car, keep your hat and glasses on, okay? Don't take them off," Charlotte warned repeatedly.
"I know, you've said it so many times already," Ethan said, fed up with Charlotte's nagging. Sometimes he wondered if she was going through early menopause.
Seeing his indifferent attitude, Charlotte leaned closer. Ethan quickly put away his tablet. "What are you looking at?"
"Let me see." That image had flashed by so quickly, but it looked familiar.
Ethan rolled his eyes. "Nothing to see, just a movie."
"Let me look." She didn't believe him. Though he'd moved too fast, she'd still caught a glimpse - that was clearly a video recording.
What had he recorded?
"Want to watch Transformers?" He showed her the tablet screen.
"No." She pulled back, seeing it was indeed Transformers.
Ethan smugly took it back. Good thing he'd been quick enough to send it out, or Charlotte would have seen it and he'd be in trouble. That was a video of her and Alexander's heated kiss from yesterday.
Though it was shot from a distance through a window, with his filming skills the footage was still crystal clear. After all, that camera lens was expensive - he'd spent all the money he'd gotten from Alexander on it. If it wasn't high definition, he'd be furious.
He wondered what Alexander's reaction would be to seeing this video - excited? Happy? Still expressionless? Or furious? He was a bit curious.
But Ethan had miscalculated this time. The first person to see the video was Brian. He'd wanted to look up some information on Alexander's computer and stumbled upon this huge surprise. Brian was so happy early in the morning he could barely eat breakfast. At this rate, their remarriage might not be far off.
Brian was so excited he kept laughing while eating breakfast, repeatedly telling Clio to make extra good food for dinner, and kept serving Alexander oatmeal porridge until Alexander was about to be sick.
"Dad, what's going on with you today?" Henry couldn't help asking. He'd been all smiles since coming downstairs.
He hadn't smiled this happily since Charlotte left. As his son, Henry was naturally happy too, but he couldn't just grin like an idiot, so he finally asked.
Brian glanced meaningfully at Alexander and chuckled again. "Nothing, you'll find out later."
Alexander was puzzled by that look. After being forced to eat two bowls of oatmeal porridge, he finally couldn't take anymore. Brian was acting suspicious today. Could his happiness have something to do with him?
"Clio, from now on make oysters every night for dinner - Oyster Stew, Baked Oysters, Fried Oysters," he said, turning to Clio.
Clio paused. "I can, but I don't remember anyone in the family liking oysters?"
She was also confused about what was up with Brian today.
Brian laughed. "Just because they didn't like them before doesn't mean they won't in the future. Start tonight - there must be an oyster dish every night."
Clio nodded, still confused. Brian was really strange today, especially that smile - kind yet somehow... eerie.
"I'm going to the office. You all take your time," Alexander said, putting down his utensils and leaving. Thinking about Brian's smile somehow made him feel uneasy.
"I'm going to work too," Hazel said, also confused by his behavior.
After the kids left, Brian adjusted his reading glasses and asked seriously, "Oysters can boost testosterone levels and sex drive, right?"
Henry spat out his oatmeal. It wasn't that he wasn't serious, but that question...
He glanced at Brian and asked slowly, "Are you..." Never mind, he couldn't ask. After all, he was quite old.
"What are you thinking? I'm asking for Alexander," Brian said sternly. He'd been asking seriously, but got a contemptuous look from Henry instead.
Henry frowned, his tone questioning: "Does Alexander have sexual dysfunction?"
With Brian asking this, as a father he got nervous too. No wonder he hadn't found a woman all these years, and later even told him he was gay. Could it be a sexual problem...
He shook his head. Impossible. Charlotte had been pregnant before. It couldn't be.
Right, he must be overthinking. Definitely.
"Of course not. I want to make him more... forget it, come to the study with me and you'll understand." Henry felt he couldn't explain. He had to tell Henry about this, or he'd keep introducing women to Alexander.
Henry curiously followed him upstairs to Alexander's study. Seeing the intense video on the computer, his face turned pale and dark. This was what had made Brian act strange all morning.
"Stop watching. Aren't you embarrassed?" Henry reached over and closed it.
Brian reluctantly pulled his bright eyes from the screen, pursing his lips as if unsatisfied. "See? Stop worrying so much. Kids will figure out their own lives. Instead of wasting time introducing women to Alexander, why don't you find yourself a golden anniversary partner."
"They're already divorced, you..." He felt unwilling to give up.
Brian's face turned stern and serious again. "Does this look like the past? This was shot just yesterday. Stop thinking about business marriages for Alexander. The Wilson family doesn't need that money. Were you and Laura ever happy? Don't do to others what you don't want done to yourself."
"But Charlotte is an actress. Our family rules..." Henry continued to object.
"Rules are made by people! As long as Alexander likes her, why do you care so much? Anyway, I've decided on Charlotte. If you keep introducing women to Alexander, I'll start introducing them to you. Just wait and see." Brian glared at him, looking very displeased.
"But she has unclear relationships with Liam and James. I can't accept it," he continued objecting.
Brian patted his shoulder. "What era are we in? Why is your thinking so backward? Besides, if they had something going on, it would have happened already. Do you think Liam is the type to silently give in the background? And that James - have you ever seen him make a move? I know very well what kind of person Charlotte is. As long as the kids like each other, why are you meddling as a father?"
"I'm meddling?" Henry didn't expect him to say that.
"Aren't you? You keep introducing him to all these women - has he ever been satisfied with even one? Can't you see what's going on? Alexander, that stubborn guy, has his heart set on Charlotte. Stop managing Alexander's affairs. If you're really that bored, find Alexander a stepmother." Brian tapped his cane heavily and walked out with a cold face.
"Fine, fine, I won't interfere anymore, okay? They can do whatever they want." Henry gave in helplessly. It wouldn't be worth it if he made Brian sick with anger.
As a parent, how could he not know his own child? Alexander was that stubborn guy who'd been fixated on Charlotte all along. He really couldn't understand what was so great about Charlotte.
He couldn't figure out why his excellent son had this deficiency in relationships. With his status, what kind of woman couldn't he have? But... forget it. Over the years, he'd done what a father should do and worried what he should worry about. Let them figure it out themselves.
"Oh, right." Brian, who had already walked away, came back and poked his head through the doorway. "I had someone change the front door lock. From now on, if Alexander comes home late, don't let him in."
"What are you planning now?" Henry felt exhausted. Whenever Charlotte was mentioned, Brian seemed full of energy.
"At my age, who knows how many days I have left? If I could see Alexander's child before I die, I'd have no regrets. At this rate, holding a great-grandchild is just around the corner." Brian's eyes gleamed.
Henry's face darkened. Brian loved having these wild daydreams.
Though, if Alexander had a child... that might actually be pretty good.
At that moment, Alexander, who was in an important meeting at the Wilson Group, sneezed in front of all the executives - very undignified. Everyone looked at him in surprise. They couldn't believe the usually cold and serious Alexander would have such a moment. It was truly shocking.
