Chapter 105 Reinforcements

Amelia never expected Ryan to say that and she instantly felt like she had someone to rely on. It felt great to be favored.

She moved closer, wrapped her arms around his waist, and buried her head deeply in his chest. She wanted to say something to express her happiness but didn't know what to say.

So she did something very proactive. She pushed Ryan onto the sofa, straddled his legs, and kissed him passionately.

In no time, Ryan was aroused.

With a strong flip, he pinned Amelia beneath him, kissing her neck and collarbone fiercely.

She giggled and tried to dodge, pushing him away with her hands. But in the blink of an eye, he was already burning with desire.

He raised his hand to pinch the soft flesh at her waist, gazing at her with a smoldering gaze, and said in a sexy, teasing voice, "Amelia, you really are an enchantress."She felt a sweet thrill in her heart. She had always been unromantic and never expected to be called an enchantress.

Her hand reached for his belt, unfastened it, and they had an intimate moment. He made love with her so intensely that she was sore for three days.

The next morning, Ryan personally took Amelia to Antique Charm.

After getting out of the car, they walked shoulder to shoulder towards Antique Charm. The morning light was faint and the sun was just rising. Amelia inexplicably felt like she was being taken to school by Elara when she was a child.

Inside the shop, Royce was standing by the window, amusing a parrot with great interest.

Seeing Ryan come in, he scolded, "You rascal, did you know all along that Amelia was going to apprentice with me?"

Ryan responded indifferently and then chuckled, "Amelia looks a lot like Serenity when she was young. Teach her well, and you won't regret it."

Hearing Serenity's name, Royce felt a pang in the softest part of his heart.

He paused and glared at Ryan, "You rascal, you really know how to exploit people's weaknesses."

Ryan patted Amelia's shoulder proudly, "Our whole family is very fond of Amelia. She's not only sensible and smart but also hardworking. It's your honor to take her as an apprentice."

Royce clicked his tongue and looked at Amelia, "Do you hear him? Does anyone talk like that?"

Amelia felt a bit embarrassed and said, "Mr. Greer, don't listen to him."

Ryan continued confidently, "Honestly, Mr. Greer, it's a good thing you took Amelia as an apprentice. If you missed out, you might regret it for the rest of your life."

Royce put down the bird food and joked, "You can shut up now. Even without you saying so much, I would still teach Amelia well."

Ryan laughed, "Thank you very much."

Royce stroked his beard and thought of the bank card Amelia had handed him earlier, asking, "Was that one million dollars your idea too?"

Ryan replied indifferently, "Just a small gesture, nothing worth mentioning."

Royce said seriously, "I'll return the money to you once Amelia finishes her apprenticeship. I didn't take her as an apprentice for the money."

Ryan knew Royce wasn't short of money and smiled, "It's just a token of our appreciation. Besides, it's not much money, so you don't need to return it."

Royce smiled helplessly, "You rascal, you're getting better at talking. Go to your company now."

Ryan placed his hands on Amelia's shoulders, "I'll leave Amelia in your care. Please take good care of her and don't let anyone bully her."

Royce rolled his eyes in annoyance, "She's my apprentice. I don't need you to keep reminding me."

Ryan smiled and patted Amelia's head gently, his eyes full of warmth, "Listen to Mr. Greer, okay? I'm leaving now."

Amelia felt that Ryan gave her a special sense of security, a feeling of fatherly love. She nodded subconsciously. Then Ryan turned and leave.

Thinking back, although she had never experienced fatherly love before, Ryan gave her that feeling today.

Next, Amelia followed Royce to learn "splicing." It involved arranging and planning the bonding of objects based on their shape, patterns, and colors, which required great patience.

Amelia made marks while looking at the original relief glass, carefully splicing it together.

Later, when she went to the bathroom, she heard a sharp female voice halfway down the stairs, "Dad, I heard you recently took on a new female apprentice?"

Hearing this voice, Amelia knew it was Jessa.

It seemed that after Sophia's failure yesterday, she had brought Jessa as reinforcements today. No wonder Ryan personally brought her here today and specifically asked Royce to take good care of her.

It seemed he had anticipated that Jessa would come to cause trouble.

Royce was sitting at the table drinking tea. He glanced at Jessa and said unhappily, "Did you come here today just for this?"

"Yes, I don't agree with you taking Amelia as an apprentice!" Jessa said.

Royce took a sip of tea and said slowly, "Taking on an apprentice is my own business. I don't need your approval."

Jessa was unhappy and frowned, "Sophia doesn't like Amelia. There's no need to upset your granddaughter over an outsider, right?"

Royce chuckled coldly, "She doesn't understand, and you don't understand either?"

Jessa glanced at Amelia with malicious eyes and said, "Sophia's hand was smashed by someone Amelia hired. After Sophia slapped her, she had someone beat Sophia's face black that night. Are you sure you want to take such a vicious woman as an apprentice?"

Amelia was furious and looked at Jessa coldly, "Without evidence, don't make false accusations!"

Jessa sneered, "I can't think of anyone else but you!"

Amelia mocked, "Then who smashed my hand?"

"How would I know?" Jessa snorted.

Royce coughed twice and tried to mediate, "I've been with Amelia day and night for over two months. I know very well what kind of person she is."

Jessa replied, "Dad, can't you tell who's close and who's not? Sophia is your biological granddaughter."

Royce lost his patience and slammed the teacup on the table. He said angrily, "Over twenty years ago, you didn't listen to me and insisted on interfering in Serenity and Eddy's family, causing chaos and making Serenity mentally ill and hospitalized. Because of that, I severed our father-daughter relationship. So, what position are you in now to boss me around?"

Jessa's face turned ashen as her ugly deeds were ruthlessly exposed.

She glared at Amelia and stormed out, slamming the door so hard it shook. Royce clutched his chest, coughing violently.

Amelia no longer felt the need to go to the bathroom and hurried over to help him. After a while, Royce finally stopped coughing.

He patted Amelia's hand gently and said, "I won't listen to their slander. Just focus on learning from me. I will teach you wholeheartedly."

Amelia was very grateful, "Thank you, Mr. Greer."

In the afternoon, when work was done, Ryan came to pick her up again.

As soon as Amelia walked out, he approached and asked, "Did anyone bully you today?"

Amelia replied honestly, "Jessa came, but Mr. Greer scolded her away."

Ryan smiled faintly, "Mr. Greer still has some conscience."

Holding her hand, they walked towards the car. Just as they were about to reach it, Sophia got out of a nearby car and blocked their way.

Amelia felt an inexplicable sense of disgust as soon as she saw her.

Sophia looked at Ryan with affection and said sweetly, "Ryan, it's been a long time."
