ALPHA COLLIN

Waking up in the empty home, without her, without her scent, without the warmth of the fresh breakfast she would make me every single morning was the very first blow to my heart. That moment, I realized something I never really thought about before. I had fallen in love with her.

I got up from my bed, lazily made my way to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I threw a pair of sweat pants on and went downstairs. The house felt dark and cold. It had always been like that, dark and cold, until she came. More like, I forced her into my life.

The hunger vanished looking at the dark kitchen. I only grabbed the bottle of milk, downed the whole thing and went for a run. After running for almost an hour, I went straight to the pack house. It had only been 2 days since she left. And the house, the pack was already biting my ass.

Even the pack and its people were somewhat sad because of her departure. They actually thought I drove her away. The circumstances were not so different. But her beautiful heart decided to give me another chance. And to make sure that I wouldn't blow this off, I was planning to do everything I could to control my anger.

I sat down on my chair and found a big box placed in front of me. Confused, I opened it and found breakfast in it. Beacon, eggs, pancakes, dark chocolate and a cup of coffee. Exactly what she used to give me almost everyday.

“Someone just dropped this off around 8 o'clock. Saying that Luna called them and strictly told them what to drop off at the pack house every morning for the next two years.” It was Beta Braxton who informed me as he entered my office.

I was thankful that I was wearing a mask or he would have seen my tears that filled my eyes. I gulped hard and nodded my head. “I shall leave you to have your breakfast in peace. Then the scheduled pack's meeting. We still need to contact our allies and inform them about the dark moon pack and their ways to take over other territories. They are planning to start a conflict, or maybe a war.” Beta Braxton added when he noticed that I was not saying anything.

He gave me a little insight of what we were to expect for the day. Then he left me alone with the box of breakfast that she specifically told a baker to drop off, especially for me. “Why are you crying, you moron? It means that she is thinking about us. I told you. Sending her away isn't needed.” It was Zane, my wolf, growling in my head. And

“I am crying because there is still hope. I know it's not all you. But you played a big part in what we did to her the last time. I told you to control but you never listen.” I growled back at him, chewing onto the pancakes. For some reason, they tasted exactly like Althea used to make.

“Don't tell me that we are never gonna mate with her. I need to connect with her wolf. I can't even feel her.” Zane was whining again about Althea's wolf and how he couldn't feel her. According to him, mating was the only way for him to connect with Althea's wolf.

“And I told you loud and clear that we will do it on her terms. We will not force her. Now shut up and let me enjoy the food she sent for me. You can sulk in the corner. Don't fucking disturb me.” I growled at him angrily. He was howling in my head but I blocked him. I just wanted to be happy for a while.
