Anastasia vs. Billy

Andrew lets her in without questioning her. She felt smug. That imbecile finally learned his place. Billy walks in Conrad’s office. He was on his leather swivel chair, back turned to her, she sashayed sexily. Yesterday was not a good timing. Instead of leaving together, Conrad left her at the school. He was fuming mad for making a scene. The only good thing that happened there was she marked her territory and the woman who was standing beside Conrad's car can kiss her dreams of dating him goodbye.

This is her way of making up to her childishness yesterday. Conrad refused to pick up her calls and she won't sit down at their New York villa waiting when he's coming over because he certainly won't. She invited him for Sunday lunches or family gatherings but he dodged them all effectively. It's a good thing that the office is renovated, she knows it's sound proof---now it's visual proof too. They can do whatever they want inside with abandon.

“Aw, good morning baby,” Billy started unbuttoning her blouse, “I bet you didn’t have breakfast so I brought you mi---”

“Disgusting.” Anastasia turned around and Billy paled. "Button up. Don't make me ask you twice."

“Okay, Conrad. This is not funny. You can come out now.” She calls out, frowning as she sees only his mother in the classy office, while hastily buttoning up. “Where is he?”

Anastasia laughs as Billy starts to look around for Conrad. When she found no one, she was back with her self-composed self again. Attempting to lean in and kiss her by the cheek. Anastasia did not avoid it but did not return the enthusiasm. She draws the line between civilized and enjoying the company. Right now, and even before, Billy Evans was in the thin gray line.

“Long time no see,” she blurted out, laughing nervously, “I am sorry about that, that’s normal with us. I mean with Conrad and me. So, where is he?”

“Normal! More like… not appropriate.” She chastises her, but she only winks and smiles harder, never one to be fully tamed, even with Anastasia’s chastising.

“You should ask him, maybe this is why he renovated the office. So we could have more privacy.”

“I doubt that is the reason, darling.”

Earlier this morning, while she was at Meredith’s place, she was texting Conrad. When Meredith agreed to see him again with the condition of no Billy disturbing peace-----she informed her son and demanded he work from home because she already knew what was coming. Billy might be from a rich family but she’s a whore in Anastasia’s book and she had dealt with a bunch of them during her husband’s time and from Conrad’s era to learn how they operate.

The first place they’d come looking for the man is his work place. And she wasn’t wrong.

“It still weirds me out, you know?” Anastasia begins.

“What does?”

“How you can’t take a hint.”

“Most likely.” She beams back at her, challenging her.

“What do you do, again?” The overprotctive mother interjects innocently. Though she's well aware of what she does, she prefers hearing it from her.

“Supermodel.” Emma laughs, bringing her gaze back to hers steadily.

“Interesting. However, I don't know about super. Maybe let's stick to model. And you and my son are what?” She asks curiously.

Her mission was to get this over and done with, so they can put it out of the way. She badly wanted Meredith and Conrad to get along well. At first, her plan was simple. To find a suitable candidate and wing it from there. She was so used at failing to find a girl that he'd end up seeing again that realizing that he was genuinely interested in her made her jump with glee. Now it's different because not only does she like Meredith personally and was championing her. but because Conrad had admiited he likes her.

As a mother, it's a double win for her and she's going to do anything to protect her brood. Mother's of any species tend to be protective and Anastasia Knight doesn't have any other children to protect other than Conrad. If she had to lie to protect him or kill, so be it. She dealt with Billy a lot of times before and unlike other women, she's not the easily swayed type.

They have been in the same situation before. Usually, the woman promises to stay away and that was it. Billy Knight is persuasive. She's a leech who keeps on coming back for more despite the warnings from her. Added to that, is her feisty attitude, generic of rich kids these days.

“Are we going to get to the point or keep making small talk and pretend you have nothing to say?”

“Nice to see that you don’t have manners. Though I admit, I like how you don’t beat around the bush.” Anastasia smiles, malice in her tone.

“I don’t like giving the mother of my man a hard time.”

“Is this the new method young ladies are using nowadays?” She smirks knowing full well that Billy can get where she is heading now but refusing to acknowledge the fact. "Sorry, but I hate to burst your bubble."

“No, it’s just a method I find works with you.”

“Barely…” Anastasia raises eyebrows her way. “You see, I knew you were coming here. Conrad told me what you did yesterday.”

“Ugh, yes! There was this girl----”

“Meredith, her name is Meredith.” She states sharply. Aiming for the headsot this time.

“Oh, so you know her?”

“Yes. She will be Conrad’s girlfriend and I believe you ruined their second date yesterday.”

It took her a while to process it. Anastasia knows she wants to correct her and accuse her for making stories up because this was not the first time that she tried to drive her away to no avail. Billy watched her expression while waiting patiently for what’s coming next.

“I’m not buying that… I can’t be. He’s … he’s …” Billy’s words trail off hopelessly as her face turns red with all the emotions running through her. “I can’t be … it’s impossible … He’s mine.”

“Listen, my son never told you that you are official, has he? He’s a man. How do you expect him to react when you so willingly throw yourself at him?”

Billy wasn’t thinking straight now. The way everything was turned upside down in her life slowly. Maybe that was why he started pulling away from him. He was never clear about their status but she was certain she wanted to be with him and finding there’s someone new while she was gone is betrayal.

“We take this from another angle,” Anastasia is moving into counselor mode, mentally working out a route of therapy needed and dealing with the problem like a checklist of things to do. Cutting out the emotional side and focusing on this as a problem to overcome. “You are stunning, there are a lot of fish in the sea.”

She shakes her head violently, obviously, this is too much to handle for her.

“No…you are making this up.”

“I wish I was.”

"I am not going to take this seriously," Billy intoned with conviction.

"I am not asking you. I am warning you. Try to mess with them and I will make sure you don't have a career to fall back." Anastasia seethed. If there's anything she doesn't like, it's another woman challenging her authority. Billy left without another word.
