Chapter 211 Evidence
I watched as Trent made copies of everything, and I'm assuming sent them all to himself. My heart had been racing the entire time we were in the office. If felt.. forbidden, and I didn't want to know what would happen if Officer Miller found out we'd been snooping around in his office.
Then we rushed to put everything back where we found it. I didn't want a single thing to give us away that we had been anywhere near any of those papers... Many of which still have my stomach in knots.
Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me across the hallway to his room. He quietly closed the door behind us. I'm still breathing heavily from the sprint. I feel like a thief in the night. Maybe I am. I don't think I'll take it up as a profession.
But then he gave me this look. One that has my body heating up and my heart pounding for a completely different reason.
"What?" I pant, flushed, and more than a little nervous. What is he planning now?
"Well," he smirks, leaning me up against his door. "My parents are going to want some... evidence that I was up here foolin' around with my girlfriend and not searching my dad's office for damning evidence that could have him in jail," he grumbles cupping my face.
"And when were you going to inform me about being your girlfriend?" I blush. He told his mom I was his girlfriend downstairs but seemed to forget to tell me about this arrangement.
"I believe I just did," he smirks, and then his mouth is on mine. I squeak in surprise as he brushes his body up against mine. On hand searches my body, pulling out my shirt, grazing his thumb against my belly.
A whimper escapes my mouth. My body embarrassingly responding to the small touch like he lit my body on fire.
I place my hands on his chest, trying to keep the world from spinning too fast. I can feel his heart pounding against my palm. He's as turned on as I am.
I feel him running his fingers through my hair as he sucks on my lips. I'm trembling under his touch. In the back of my mind, I know he's only doing this so his parents won't get suspicious, but that doesn't stop the moan I let out as he reaches down and squeezes my ass.
I gasp as he leaves trials of kisses down my neck, then he starts nibbling on the sweet spot between my neck and shoulder. "Angel, you feel so damn good pressed against me," he growls against my skin.
"Trent," I gasp, running my fingers through his hair.
Trent groans into my skin.
He pulls away with heat in his eyes. "Baby, if I had the time, I'd really like to make you feel good. But Mom's about to call us down for dinner," he pants before once again claiming my lips.
It wasn't even 10 seconds before Mrs. Miller called up to us, "Dinner is ready!"
Trent pulls back with a silly grin. "See what I mean? Mom never lets me have any fun," he winks, but he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me out of the room.
Mrs. Miller's eyes zeroed in on Trent's mark instantly, but all she did was smirk and have us come take a seat.
Dinner was mostly pleasant, if you didn't count Officer Miller sending death glares at me and Trent. After what we uncovered, I guess I can understand. He didn't want anything getting back to him, and he really didn't need Trent having a reason to investigate.
"Dinner was great, Mom. But I gotta take Charlie back home," Trent said, placing a kiss on her cheek.
Mrs. Miller sighed dramatically but gave me a warm smile before pulling me in for a hug.
"It was really lovely to meet you, Charlie. Don't be a stranger! And I hope Trent brings you back soon," she coos.
"You can count on it," Trent said with a wink, wrapping his arm around me, pulling me out to his car.
The drive back to... well, I guess home, was a little tense. Not because I was worried about confronting Rick with what we learned, but it was the last look Officer Miller sent us before we left.
"Do you think he's going to do something?" I whisper. Now I'm starting to get paranoid that he knew exactly what we did upstairs. What would he do if he found out? Can he hurt us?
