Chapter 210 Trouble

Chapter 210 Trouble
Who the hell is paying you off, Dad? I want to storm downstairs and shove this all in his face. At the same time, I'm worried what would happen to Mom if I showed her all of this. Would she leave Dad? Would she side with him, stating he knows what he was doing?

I send a copy of this to myself, too, making double sure to erase the screen shot.

I meticulously go through each file. I find some that make absolutely no sense to me. They are all a bunch of gibberish, like they were encrypted or something. How the hell am I supposed to break through something like this? This goes way beyond my ability to use computers. I'm gonna need some help with this.

I send some of these to myself as well. I'm going to show them to Rick and see if he can make anything of them. Maybe he knows a guy, and if he doesn't, I'm sure he has more than enough money to find a guy who knows a guy. He will want to keep Josie and her sisters safe.

"I think I've got something," Charlie whispers, holding up a file. It's actually pretty thick. Just what did she find?

I leave Dad's screen where I had it and join Charlie.

I look at the file she hands me. It's an old file. A police report, actually. The one that involves her parents. There was an investigation done, and it was deemed an accident. I see the picture of her parents' bodies and I squirm. I'm not really squeamish, but these are Charlie's parents. They died while mine are perfectly fine downstairs.

There is even a picture of my father. He looks a lot younger. He's wearing his uniform and badge. It has all his information here. Just what exactly is the purpose of this information? Nothing looks out of place...

"I remember him," she whispers looking at the photo. "He came to our house the night of Josie's 16th birthday. He was with an older officer. They told us to pack up our bags. They told us our parents had died in a car accident, and now we needed to go move to Aunt Beth and Uncle Jay's house."

I search through the folder and see, well, I guess it is some sort of a contract.

It was dated almost 6 years ago.

Officer Peter Miller will be the officer on the site of the incident. Upon examination, he will rule the incident an accident. Then he will further take the packages to the Taylors residence.

The three daughters will be given custody to separate contacts and contracts. The first will be given to Dean Kingston. The second will be left to Jay Taylor. The third will be given custody to Logan Davis.

Should any reports be filed against the Kingston's, Taylors, or Davis's they will be made to disappear.

"FUCK!" I swore. "I knew that kid was trouble."

"What?" Charlie asks, whispering over my shoulder.

"I don't know how, but I think Braxton is working for his dad. I don't know why, but he's the one who is supposed to end up with Olivia," I hiss under my breath. I want to show this to Olivia, but I have a feeling Braxton will be keeping her out of my reach now that I've come home.

"What are we going to do?" Charlie asks. I can see she's already trembling with nerves.

"We'll take this back to Rick. He might know what to do with this," I whisper.

Charlie just nods. "Okay," she agrees.

I grab the papers and stuff them all into the scanner and send them all to me as quickly and as quietly as the machine will allow. I hurriedly shut down my computer, putting everything back the way we found it.

I shut off the light and pull Charlie across the hallway and into my room and shut the door.

I look Charlie up and down and smirk. Now I'm going to be fabricating my own evidence.
